My name is Ethan Dean, I am a 16-Year-old student pilot. I fly a Cessna 172R (N474EP), at Danbury Municipal Airport (KDXR). I enjoy flying, and am looking forward to creating videos for this channel. Because I'm 16, I only have lessons once every 2-4 weeks, meaning thats when you can expect new videos. Thanks for coming along, and enjoy!

Another look at the skyline route in NYC! My friends, Prith and Brian took a journey down the Hudson River, and flew eastbound along the south shore. This provided for some great views and pictures! Enjoy!

You have the radio phraseology down pat! Fantastic job.
Great instructor. Nice flying
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
18:18 I know this video is 7 years old but should not be pitching up if you were getting too low over those trees. Adjust power for altitude.
less coke, more trim. just kidding around, nice video
it gives you wiiings
I noticed that he didn’t pull the carb heat?
I love flying but landing has to be the most nerve wrecking thing next to power on stalls😂😂
Ugh I wish my CFI was zen like this guy.
"Set the pitch attitude you want and then trim off the control pressure." Great tip! Gives a great piece of information on how to implement the phrase 'pitch, power, trim' from a kinesthetic perspective.
...a great flight lesson indeed!
I have always wanted to learn how to fly an aircraft. I don't want to become a pilot for a living but just wanna be a multi talented guy.
Haven't started lessons yet but these vids have me pumped! Always loved planes but never learned to fly even when I was in the AF. Go figure!! Want to begin next year. Maybe move to Alaska and become a bush pilot, HA!! Great state!! Spent 2 years there when I was in the AF.If you haven't been, put it on your bucket list. You won't regret it!! Oh yea, not this time of year!! Even Anchorage, where I was stationed, has received record amounts of snow!! Ya'll fly safe and God bless!!
Same, just started ground school and going to complete that, along with the written test before i begin flight training. So so very eager to get in the plane, but i know i jeed to take this one step at a time
Sometimes I worry that my messed up radio calls are gonna make it into a video like this 😭
New York has the best controllers in the country by far.
It helps me understand how the cessna 172 works because i start with it next yr
Just took my first discovery flight today. A lot of information all at once plus I felt I was on a roller coaster. So I think I like flying but not sure. Need anyone discover flight.
amazing!
Why does everything looks so chaotic here?
Great training.
Practice and make it better I like that.
"Five years ago" come on, man! Give us an update, where you at now?! I'm in this point of my journey where my pattern is more trash than a baby's diaper. But this video helped me a bit!
Did you work at Agway?
He litterally never pulled back the whole time ?? I'm over here struggling to time the flare and feel so confused
I'm watching this for my lesson tomorrow. But that student is soooo cute, he is distracting me.
My flight school’s 172s still have carburetors.
Second flight stalls? Anyway buy a new headset d/c with good mic that stays in place, very bad habit to move mic every time you talk it will follow you forever I still struggle after 30 years of flying nice job
Thank god my lessons aren't posted publicly. Lots of nit pik
Your approach speed is very high. You need to hear the stall warning in the round out.
Was I riding with Top Gun!?!?!? I barely felt those landings in the back seat! 👍
Great job 👏🏻 😊good job
Wind ?
Bravissimi ! Saluti dall'Italia
that was great! im an avid flight simmer and starting lessons soon, personally i idle my thrust at around 10 feet and reduce my vspeed to like 100 and try to keep it there
Great flying and Awesome teacher.💪
Looks like this was flying with arrow aviation. How was your experience with them? Looking to start my ppl with either them or Darcy as DXR is the nearest airport to me.
That's was great! Thanks for the video....
Nice job! This was 5 years ago... you must be flying jets now!
Flew that plane for years.
Need about 90% fewer inputs with the yoke. Too busy "stabbing cats" in the engine compartment with the controls. It's all unnecessary. Anyone watching this - just be SMOOTH.
Outstanding Young Buck... I always loved touch & go's. Final was the most enjoyable time of flight for me. Thank You for sharing.
I dont fly Cessnas, but it appeared to me that the speed was a little high on approach which cause the slight bounces. Also, remember to pull back on power when you made the runway and level off during flare. Typically, for the softest touch down, you'll hear the stall horn right as you are touching down. I'm a low time pilot, but that's my understanding.
I noticed that too. On the last landing the airspeed was about 80kts. At least from my knowledge the POH suggests 60-70 kts.
Omg this is the airport I trained at! I actually got my license in 77B! No way
Holy cow this guy has so much energy he's ready to fly to the moon 😁, but good job and not hesitating and nice touchdown. I wish i had that kind of energy but cant even get it gelm a cup of coffee anymore. Good job to both of you
Love the video one thing I’ll say is as a CFI, you do really want to relax on the yoke a little. You shouldn’t be doing that many movements unless you’re on a x-wind or a lot of turbulence. If you use flight sims a lot it’s especially easy to get into this, I call it the flight sim twitch(because as a simmer I found myself doing it for the longest time until I had the right instructor tell me to stop), but I’ve also heard it called PIT(pilot induced turbulence). I always tell my students that air is a soup, so we swim through it in smooth strokes. Other than that good job going through the bravo and with your radio calls, and awesome photos!
Basically, when you flair, your trying to keep the nose of the aircraft level with the horizon in front? From the landing videos ive seen for new pilots it seems complicated.
Pretty much. In order to keep the attitude, it should result in yoke full back immediately on touchdown for a perfevt landing, but a bit forward isn't the ending the world as long as you have the attitude down.
Third times the charm. This will be great to see when your a captain
Took my 1st lesson Thursday. Can't wait for next Thursday! 🤗
I wish I had a cool instructor like him! Mine was an angry loud A-Hole!
