Thanks, David! I didn't get a chance to get out during the ATL snow, but this trip made up for it. I definitely did a lot of experimentation with the compression of the tele lens. These clips were all taken on the first day and I only had limited time to work, so I shot all normal profile and auto. I got the settings more dialed in on the second day with D Log M and appropriate shutter speeds. Much more to come...

Thanks for that! Tell all of your friends and neighbors (lol)! Believe it, or not, that footage was from my Air 2S. It's still an amazing camera drone - it just lacks the tele and is a little shorter on the battery life than I would like for hyperlapses and other applications. I still have it and plan to keep it. I didn't get my Air 3S until Episode III of Downtown Atlanta. I do use the studio version of Davinci Resolve and do some very basic color grading (Drop the DJI LUT on the footage, basic corrections/grading and contrast). In some situations, I may do noise reduction and/or sharpening if needed. I definitely aim to get deeper into it over time. I'll definitely check out your first flight. I've only been flying drones since April 2023, so you are a veteran.

@ I have the Nazgûl DC5 , Geprc LR tern4 inches, SpeedyBee to mess around around and the avata 2. Only thing keeping me from the air3S is that I can’t use goggles to tell you the truth. I got a couple of flights on my channel but man nothing like yours . 🫡 RESPECT

Appreciate the respect, but FPV takes real skill. I haven't been that brave yet, but we just purchased an Avata 2 and a Neo for work, so I will have an opportunity to dip my toes in. I'm afraid I might not want to go back!

Thanks! Unfortunately, South Lido was still closed when I visited in early November. I did get it from a distance several times, but did not get an opportunity to capture some of those sharks and fish that you did. I’m usually looking up and not down, but I will have to try that next time I get down there.

This was my first low-light shooting with the Air 3S, so I was shooting with the normal profile. I use 4k 30 fps. The ISO and shutter is unknown because I was shooting in Auto, but I would estimate 800 ISO based upon some subsequent pre-dawn sessions.

I was born and raised in Sarasota, and lived there for the first 23 years of my life. I definitely took living there for granted, and didn't realize what a great place it was to live in. It is definitely Stone Mountain. Most of my films in downtown or midtown are filmed during the early morning hours. The light is great and the city is still asleep.

I do have my 107 certification, but did not seek a waiver for this flight. I do everything I can to avoid overflying people and vehicles. One of those things is flying before dawn on a weekend. The city streets are usually a ghost town. I did have to get an unlock from DJI to go over the height they set in the altitude zone. 107 rules do allow you to go 400' over structures if you are within 400' of them. It's not a hard test if you've had previous aviation training and there are many good online prep courses out there. I would encourage you to pursue it if you have any commercial interests, or even if you just want the extra knowledge.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! It seems that certain buildings consistently create moiré issues for me. Bank of America (the tallest one in ATL) and One Atlantic Center seem to be the most problematic for me. I'm still trying to figure out how best to minimize the effect when capturing and when editing. I think that these issues are similar to what I experience with the Air 2S. Let me know if you've found some effective ways to minimize or eliminate this effect.

@DarrinBarth thanks for your answer. No it depends of the angle of the camera and some move above tricky roof or lines. Drones don't have AA filter so it is a fact that in some situation, aliasing can appears. But some people say that on the air3s it's more than on others models... nothing very convicing for the moment, mavic 3 pro, air2s also have this issue. some people have tips for reduce in post prod, but I don't know how this works. I think it's easier to pay attention during the shoot... but sometimes it's hard to see on a little screen. Again great great video !!!

That's the first time that pass has been open in 40 years. Some say it has dramatically improved water quality in the Bay.

Even though I grew up in Sarasota, I didn't fully understand the controversy until recently. When I did understand the significance, I knew I had to capture it. I take it from your call sign and photo, you are connected to aviation? My day job is Airside Ops at ATL.

@@DarrinBarth I got my PPL, IR back in 2000/2001 in Venice, at Huffman Aviation, got my CPL at Jones Aviation in 2003. Since then I have converted my CPL and have flown in the Philippines. As a passenger I have flown into ATL many times, very busy place it seems

I hope it's not too much. This was one of the first flights with the Air 3S, so I shot in normal profile and performed corrections and grading after. The sky was definitely beautiful that morning with a nice orange glow right before sunrise.
