      It would be very hard to apply whole systems approach to an individualized farm system with trees kept in pots, I am sure you probably could have a better idea than myself🐸there are aspects that can be followed, no plastic pots, organic compost fertilizers, no plastic mulch under pots, pots touching each other, pots placed directly on soil not cement or wood chips, mychorizal fungi below the pots and in the pots to connect the system, pots placed in a location that is naturally shaded by plants, no peet moss, no coconut coir, native soil top dressed with some type of compost, microdose a organic fertilizer every watering day, use rain water❤️🐸thank you

I cant even spray in rainy season it washes away and the bugs are super fast Every fruit i grow is heavily atyacked by bugs , sure some fruits dont get attacked until its ripe and you can pick it early to get somthing , but soo any fruits get atyacked while small and thin skinned , like papaya wasp , or worms on my watermelons , or fruit fly on my guava

      You obviously have not heard or are unable to receive my message I clearly convey thru almost every video I make, spraying insecticides create crops that are prone to pest and disease🐸You cannot create a pest suppressive plant or soil with chemical pollutants, they damage the mitochondria that create mutagenic changes in the plant that disrupt molecular signaling that could trigger an immune response to your biotic stressor🐸thank you

    Very interesting video full of a lot of concepts that need to be pondered. Much of it makes a lot of sense when you sit back and think about it. To try and answer your question as to why we have changed the way we fertilize so significantly in the last 70 years, I think it's due to population growth. In 1950, the US had a population of 148M. Today, it has a population of 342M, at least. Back in the 1950's, we had compact cities surrounded by medium suburbs, followed by sprawling rural areas. It wasn't unusual to own 0.5-1 acre of land in suburban areas, and much of the population was located in rural areas with big acreage. With the 2.3X increase in population that happened so quickly, now we have these sprawling suburbs where most people are jammed in like sardines on 7,500 square ft lots, and the rural population has dropped off dramatically and farmland has been gobbled up. So, the question is, for people that live in these small suburban plots, but they want to grow food, how do they get the materials they need? The solution has been largely bagged fertilizers. I recently purchased a little over 3 acres of land in Florida. My dream is to one day convert the big, sandy field into a system similar to what you have, although a bit different since it's North Central Florida and will contain more temperate species. But, I see the challenges only growing larger and larger as rural land becomes scarcer and we rely on fewer and fewer farms to grow more and more food. A growing population with shrinking farmland is at odds with each other.

    A question from Australia. I see the average rainfall according to Google for Florida is about 54 inches. Would this be correct in your location in Florida as I know it varies quite a lot. We get around 40 inches , but we do get a massive variation. One year 65 inches next year can easily be less than 20 inches. Last year we had a 6 month period of only 5mm . This is pretty normal. So while establishing our system I am cautious. Thanks for your information.

    what are your thoughts on making a fermented version of your tree leaf tea and spraying that on younger seedling trees to provide possible microbial life that may aid in the seedlings growth/health? My thinking is that by making a biodiverse tea of the healthy mature trees leaves and spraying that water on young seedlings would mimic rain drops from a healthy tree canopy. 🤷‍♂

    Hi eric! It looks like you just plant your seeds kind of wherever, are you worried about shade from the surrounding trees or can fruit trees still fruit within shade?

    • @floridanaturalfarming3367
      @floridanaturalfarming3367 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Most of the fruit trees we specialize in produce in full shade and I tend to not worry about what might happen and just focus on creating a forest system that functions well🐸I feel with the high heat affecting trees negatively shade is our only solution🐸❤️thank you

    I worked at an organic lettuce farm. Every time a row was made for lettuce plugs it was covered with plastic. I thought nothing of it at the time. I imagine that soil is full of plastic particles and forever chemicals.

      I am sure the plastic dust created by such plasticized soil systems would have an adverse affect on farm worker health over time🐸❤️thank you Joe

    Hi Eric, how do you recommend getting micronutrients in your soil biome naturally? I hear ppl say all the time how Florida doesn't have much calcium or micronutrients in the soil (in relation to the mango growing community). Any tips for micronutrients deficiencies?

    • @floridanaturalfarming3367
      @floridanaturalfarming3367 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The life is the micronutrients, more life more nutrient availability🐸Florida has unlimited calcium, it is mined here, you need the life🐸from what I have seen most Florida growers do not have a clue how to grow food on a biological molecular level, so sad they cannot see what was once right in front of them🐸compaction from mowing make nutrients unavailable to plants in our soil
