Yes, same platform as the 2017 Buddha 1 re-issue, one switch to control all functions, no pitch knob. See 8:35 in the video for switch assignment.
@@davewaveukeflyer I have the original buddy machines and got one of these reissues once. With all respect due to the ones remaking these things, the pitch knob is half of what makes it so great. Too bad they don’t include it now cause I see no reason to buy reissues that are missing that crucial feature.

Bean is old-fashioned slang for head or brain, Mendocino is a rural Northern California community that's been home to freaks and "[pot]heads" since the days when Zappa wrote the song

Love it! My English teacher at secondary school (and she was the best English teacher ever!) played us this song in her lessons, too. It was some 25 years ago, only few years after the communist regime had fallen, in Prague (Czech republic). I still remember the text, it was my favourite. Thank you 😊

If you have an early model and have trouble making the batteries fit, I made another video showing a way to adjust the battery contacts. Search Glass 80 Buddha Machine Battery Fix. If you are reasonably skilled with tools, it's a work-around.

Yes, they are the actual loops. The external audio jack can drive headphones, stereos, powered speakers, etc. for higher fidelity than the internal speaker.

Is this real unplugged sound? I'm playing Kala U-bass. But the unplugged sound of black bundle sting is very tiny to hear. I found Pyramid and U-bass round wound strings. That two strings have also bigger unplugged sound than black string?

Hi: I really enjoyed your performance of Bertha. I've been trying to learn that tune myself but I haven't had much luck in figuring out the chords that you're making. They seem to be small changes in the first position but I was wondering if you could forward to me some chord information. It doesn't have to be a big deal but it would be a big help.
Thanks for watching. I got the chords and lyric from the rukind site. My little variations you can try are: On the G chord 0232, drop your pinky down to make 0233, a C note alternating with the B. On the C chord 0003, drop your index and middle finger down in a F shape to make 2013. Hope that helps, Joel. My favorite version of this tune in by Los Lobos, check it out.

+ibendiben They wrap around the pegs fine, You only need to pay attention to ordering the correct string. Solid-body strings are longer than the acoustic version. Thanks for listening, Merry Christmas.
+davewaveukeflyer Thanks! I found out they string up just like on a normal bass guitar, made some new plastic washers though to protect the stringholes from the ball end. They sound great, louder, better imho, only the action becomes way too high. That's ashame. If I only knew how to lower the action, but the bridge is a special one I believe.
+ibendiben On my 2012 u-bass, there were a couple of one-millimeter shims under the saddle pickup that I removed to lower the action. Failing that, you would need to have an expert luthier rout out the wooden bridge to deepen the slot for the saddle pickup. Good luck, enjoy your new strings.
