My first thoughts, the game where you play a cat? Dumb. After few minutes. Where I can buy it 🙂 This game need Nostromo DLC, where you lure people into dark corners for Alien.

I swear if it werent for Elden Ring this could have won Game of the Year. It was a masterpiece of gaming cinema, and art. I will always cherish every second I played of it. Glad you're doing a playthrough of it!

When you were starting the game, did you turn off the death clock? When the game came the turn off option was not there, but they added it in some later patch. Thing is that if you did not turn it off I am no mathematician but your chances of finishing the game are slim, very slim. Unless you get very good at this game, like 1000% better I can not see you get into the endgame and maybe even so. When Death clock starts you will have limited number of days to finish the game and if you do not, game over, man, game over. Everytime you came back to the base, you must pass the day to get back and second thing is, that if you won't have any marines left, even the day pass may not be option. There may be several days for you to have your units ready. I can not predict the future and you are daring and fearless I grant you that but be honnest will you play this game again if get maybe to mission 9 or 10, then you run out of days, game ends, will you try again then? Playing all those mission again? So far you have passed only first mission, yes, it will be tiresome to play it again, but certainly not so much, as playing more then half of the game just to know how it all ends. There is third option for you, this game is saved, you may start a new one and if you finish it, learn all that can be learned, then you can come back to finish your first try. If there are some people around you, some friends or family, or just acquaintance of yours who actually played the game, describe them your situation and ask their opinion. That is my advice.

Congrat on finishing Dead Hills. Command points have nothing in common with leveling your marines. They are spent during the mission on abilities such as shotgun, flamethrower ect. As for upgrading your marine, there is a trait selection whenever you gain level, but there are also profession traits. They costs 30 material, but they greatly enhance your skills. Since there si no harm in skiping the days until deathclock starts (net claims it happens somewhere around mission 5 but I cannot confirm this), in theory you can stay on base for quite some time, get enough materials to fully upgrade your marines lvl3 and above, buy all weapons ect. Also, sometimes you can carry a fallen marine to the APC and resuscitate him/her on the ship. Edit: as for the story and the cult in here, sometimes it may get a little weird, but if you go with the story, you may like it. I do. Edit 2: I understand you wanting to beat the game, however you may have complicated things for yourself, but consider this. The game won't get any easier then what you have encounter so far, so sooner or later you may face impossibility to continue and you may choose to restart the game at that point, but I think it will be much more ruining experience then, that it is now. You completed mission one of 12 mission in total, some missions will be much, much tougher with limited way to get back to the base. I respect that you do not reload the game to the checkpoint after losing the marine or making some mistake along the way, but game won't reward you for honest trying it will punish you, hard and bloody. Just keep that in mind.

Beware of the Alien agresivness. The scale is in top right corner of the screen. More you engage the Xenoes the agression rise from easy to medium and hard. More agresive Xeno gets more dangerous Xenomorphs you encounter, later came Crushers and Praetorians. The agresivness rise only when staying in mission, when you return to the base, it always lower back to easy. Another reason for trying to stay hidden and not engaging. If Xenos encounter sentry and the turret kills it it does not lunch the hunt for you, unless you join the fight.

One last thing, I can easily see that comments like mine can poison you and detter you from proceeding the game. I have no intention of doing that and if I did I apologize. If you want I can short my future inputs and not repeating same advises wheter you follow them or not. Ether can be hatefull place and the last thing I ever want is to add to that. If there is anthying you are troubled in my posts pls, write it here.

Well, you are getting there... painfully. First of all if I remember correctly there is another exit of Queen's chamber, not by much but little shorter. It involves the bridge you have encounter earlier but could not pass because it was down. From other side you can extended it to pass loot some stuffs along the way. You are still making some same mistakes. You don't give your marines or your turrets proper field of fire, like, station the turret in the door? (Not talking about the queen kill, that was alright) The Xenoes are basicly in attack range the same moment the turret is. Same for your marine, you station them by the door where Xenoes can see them, after they start hunt you run them off so they can't defend themself. There may be some limit of their range, but mostly where they can see, there they fire that goes for marines and turret alike. From what I see it is mostly a problem of control. In one moment you mention to your marine to stop running, but they need more the vocal command to that. If you need more time to do what you have in mind, activate skill menu, slow time and act under slow time effect. You can also change slowing time for stoping time entirely which I strongly advise for you, at least until the moment you are more tuned to control. What is done is done but when you were gunning for the queen you should have placed at least two sentries and the queen would have not reached you at all. You are to closely rely on getting the sniper rifle. It is essential, yes, mostly in later game, but in first mission? No. Each shot costs command point you have only 3 yet and you spend them not in very usefull way. When inbetween the missions, you don't use active medical care, only passive one. Depending on how many medical personal you have you can always remove one day of remaining time to be cured. Learn to use decoys in motion tracker device (skill menu), place them along the way and when needed, open the map, click on motion tracker icon on the map and it starts making the noise drawing all nearby xenoes to it. Since there si no way to lower the infestation, it can't go higher either, you can spent some time on base, fully recover the marines, gain enough salvage to upgrade trait on you lvl3 marines and go in strong... yet stealthy 🙂 Well, in this moment you are practically at the end of mission one, you are almost out of marines, the highest infestation and you have limited mastery of controling your action in the game. This game will frustrate you to the death, if you still want to finish it off, you realy should restart it from the begining. Last thing you need to train before you do that is learn how to make safe sanctuary of rooms with as little of doors as one or two. Look fo green icon above the doors, those can serve as that sancuary, if the icon is not there, the room can't be used that way. I will stay with you regardless what you do, but I am afraid that if you proceed the same way you were until now, you will very soon start to hate this game (if it is not happening already). I would consider that outcome to be very sad and unfortunate. I understand not everybody need to see this game as great or good at least, but as Alien, fan it would be loss. This game is to Aliens from Cameron same thing what Isolation was for the first movie. In terms of atmosphere, adrenaline and Xenomorphs threat. Maybe when you are at the end of mission one you could watched some videos of others playing that mission to teach yourself what you need.

Try it again and this time deploy sentries before unlocking the door to the queen (two or three facing the door). Even from the door they will help you significantly. You can also place one sentry to cover you back, but give it wide range of fire and not covering behind corner, when it has no time to react. If you deploy two or three of sentries on the door the Queen may not get even close. As for evading, why did you get deep into the hive when trying to kill the queen and not to the door you came through? In hive there are eggs and Facehuggers, your turrets help you get rid of them but if you get right into their hugs you lose marines. Deploying of sentry has two phases, first is location selection, second is the orientation. Since the sentry can be picked up you should practise it when you are not in combat to know how to do it whet the time came up. To be honest I do not know how to do it on PS since I played on PC but technique will be similar, only control will differ. Also when you were preparing for the mission you could have get mines to the second of your lvl 3 marines instead of shotgun s/he had. SHotgun has no lvl restriction and those two lvl1 marines should suffice. Edit: There is only one advantage now, infestation can't go up anymore, so until deathclock start, you can return to base as much as you like. But bear in mind that if you collect all the ammo, it won't reappear when you try second time and you will have trouble with your marines has nothing to fight with (but second much weaker weapon). ...and return to your save before this mission. ...and one last thing, try to be more stealth, you can evade the xeno when they can't see you, even when hunted they mostly come where they spotted you last time... mostly 🙂... so if you run off they will have to search for you and not attacking you. Direct approach here is similar to A: Isolation. It is not impossible, just near impossible and damn hard. And when the xenoes are in sight and pursuit, god, stop running. No double click movement, just one click movement. Stay strong, marine 👍

When spotted by Xenos you are still running. Man, there is no chance in hell you outrun xenomorph (even less then zero when you encounter runners, later on), your only chance is to falling back slowly and shoting. Using abilities like mines, flamethrower and those you unlock later combining with your firepower you prevail. But with such a high level of infestation your chances of finishing the game are slim considering you are still geting to know the game and its properties. There is no going back from lvl 5 infestation I am afraid. That remains with you from now on. You can only decrease the scale until reaching next level infestation, and only after you research the project for it. I actually do not know when it became available but if I remember correctly it wasn't in few first missions. And after reaching lvl 5 there is no going back and Xenos will be on your back all the time. Also rather then buying every weapon for materials focus on profesion traits. There are two kind of traits. One that come with level increase and second one that came with profesion of a marine. The second one cost 30 materials for each on each of marine. I certainly hope you remain in this series, the game is very enjoyable when you understand it and master the basics. It allows you to implement different strategies and cunning aproach. But you should really think about restarting whole game otherwise I see possibility of your frustration geting upper hand and you deciding to quit it. And that would be shame. Aliens Fireteam Elite was not a bad game, but I consider the Dark Descent the best thing since/after the Isolation. No fan of Alien should missed it. First of all learn how to save the game when in the mission by locking yourself in the rooms that has that green symbol above the doors. Second master movement of your troops when hunted by xenos and after that restart the game and start a new. That is my advise. Stay strong, marine.
