This program features the Impromptu No. 1 in C minor (D. 899); The Sonata in G major (D. 894); the Sonata in Bb major (D. 950); and as encore the Impromptu No. 2 in Eb major (D. 899).     I've listened to this recital at least 10 times. It's always so beautiful.

    I found this by typing my birthday, just to see what music performances occurred on the day I was born. I found only two: a performance from the progressive rock band, Genesis, in Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan, and this performance of Schubert by Randolph Hokanson at the University of Washington. I can hear why the rest of the world's musicians might have taken the night off.

    Professor Hokanson should be much better known around the world. He is truly a genius and by far the best interpreter of Bach on the piano that I have heard.

    My favorite of the Beethoven sonatas! and a beautiful rendition, played by a master who really understood the piece.
