Watching the way you set up your hotkeys, u are a WoW player arent you 🤣
for some reason this model doesn't work for blender
is there a reason you are using the tweenmachine u linked vs the one u have from animbot and why youre tracking the gizmo instead of using animbots motionpath? New to animation just trying to understand
1) No practical reason I just wanted to use classic tween machine as it's a free tool anyone could get whilst animbot is a bit expensive. 2) Motionpaths are slow and buggy, I think it's better to train your eye to track your spacing. hope that helps :)
@ gotcha thanks a ton, these videos are super helpful!
why is my animate from blocking to spline is not as smooth as u, what did i do :')
How did you change the BG colour in the viewport? Is it just a Plane Mesh or an animbot feature?
I see the word animation and an image of Link and I click
Thankyou so much! this video is really easy to understand
moreeeee pls
Thankyou, great tips
I watch a lot of videos showing animators working on projects, and they are always going backwards and forwards, to and fro, changing this, doesn’t work, then move that, delete this key frame, add another one here and there etc etc. This is the normal workflow right? Because when I animate it’s always like this, I just want to know that I am on the right track.
@@ukmonk yep that’s totally normal and good!
@@ChesterSampson Thanks for replying Chester. Love your videos btw. Yeah I just wanted someone who is a professional to confirm this. I guess all animators are the same as you have to ‘massage’ the curves, smooth out all the jank etc, and as most animations are gonna be different I guess its always an ongoing process of trial and error. Thanks again.
Seems like a great workflow, good job summing all that info up and thank you for sharing! I'm a beginner and I began using this workflow, hoping to create many animations to use on my game. Just curious, how long did it take for you to animate link here and how long are you generally spending for one animation? I know it really depends on the difficulty of the specific animation, but I would be happy for any answer :)
Could you dub this video into Portuguese please? I'm starting to study 3D animation and there aren't many tutorials in Portuguese, just English and I'm using Google Translate to talk to you
What is the tool you use on the side to select the joints?
Arent you the one working with Aspen Animation on the cave short film
Could you please help me? I'm doing this exact video with you here, but the frame count is so much more than you have. I think your final frame is 72-73. But my final frame, at the exact same final pose, is 179! I'm really trying to figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated. :)
What's your framerate?
31:00
it was 10 moth you didnt gave us graph editor or splining vid we are waiting for
Check the channel bro, I uploaded a new video recently about the graph :)
@@ChesterSampson can u do more please, more length video like this please, like from blocking to spline then polish hahaha, sorry for greedy request :))
great video thank you!!
great video thank you Chester! what is the video player you use to play back ref please? it auto syncs with the timeline in Maya? I wonder if something similar for Blender?
Sorry just seen you used keyframe pro! My bad!
Chesteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer ❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you. I have seen some professional 3D animators that never use the graph editor though, is it down to personal preferences? They just move the keys around etc
@@ukmonk the graph is just another tool, you could do everything by eye if you want. but I think using the graph for cleanup can speed up your workflow a lot, if you know what you’re doing
@@ChesterSampson Thank you so much for replying. Some great videos on your channel so thank you for that!
This was very very helpful. PLEASE LET YOUR NEXT VIDEO ALSO BE ABOUT THE GRAPH EDITOR 🙏
For acting, The acting beats can either be held poses or sometimes part of the movement ( breakdown, eases ... ). It means Held Pose is Main acting or main movement, then we break it down frome there to many inbetween pose and acting beats like dart eyes, headshake, eye blink etc.... can occur whenever, wherevever on inbetween poses , right ?. In short, this workflow will provide a skeleton to move from one Held pose to another Held Pose, physically inclined, to handle pure motion. Based on it I can set acting beats like Dart eye, headshake... at any Breakdown Pose, any Frame I want. For example, Dart eyes can happen in the timing overshoot of the main Body?. Sorry for my bad english.
thanks :) it's help a lot
Very nice thank you.
This is so helpful! The tip about animating in local space and polishing in world space is great. I feel dumb for not having done it before. Great video!!
great video thank you,!
Thankyou brother 👏👏✨
Where i can find this anim schoolpicker
Great video thank you! When you start blocking in stepped, do you put poses every 10 frames at start please? Or doesn’t it matter? I have seen people do it every 3 frames/5 frames/20 frames then once the overall poses are complete they start moving frames closer together. Is this the normal workflow please? Everyone seems to do things slightly different.
Colour Multiverse Cuboid
Why must you remind me! 😂
*was about to run away being an noob of blender* 😢
May I ask what rig format is that of link on the second window with all the button pads? Makes it easier to animate with? 😮
❤❤❤❤
Great video Chester Sampson, Thanks for this idea and video also!

The Arcs section was really helpful, you have no idea. I've been getting back on animation lately with SFM, and it's been tough to wrap my head around how arcs are formed in 3D software.
Been waiting for a new vid forever! And specially on this specific topic! Welcome back Chester 🤟
Thanks for the video!

@@ChesterSampson Great, that's awesome , that's what I'm looking for to help me get my animation to the next level. I might be purchasing the 16 reviews when I'm ready to make a demo reel shot. I just want to ask if I'm gonna be able to send you any questions i might have along with the shot every time i submit the progress ?
@@blip__ Yep! every time you submit work for review you can ask whatever questions you may have and I will do my best to answer during the video review :)
