@DeathDoesThings I'd have to check the code for explosions to get a real understanding. My guess is that things like heavy and tank cannons are reduced as they are projectile weapons however Dynamite Will not be reduced (all the more reason dynamite is broken, not just with the highest explosion radius and damage in the game). This theory has to do with the fact that for me at least shield plates were very effective in countering crates which are "projectiles" but they're not like traditional bullets (this was before collision damage update).

Not quite, individually 1x1s are quite weak, and if they fall that is an instant anchor pin going down alongside them Its better to use them to hold the entire thing up together at the front because it allows the blocks at the front to survive more while the pins keep absorbing explosion AoE

@@NosferatusTGYes, individually 1x1s have less health. However, if you lose that heavy weight block, you lose all 4 pins. You lose a 1x1, you lose one pine. 4 1x1s have more health than one heavy weight block (albeit using 4x more complexity.) If a heavy weight block were to have an AOE “streak” hit it, the heavy weight block would get destroyed, dropping all 4 pins. For 1x1s, only the one 1x1 block would be destroyed, unlike the heavy weight blocks all 4, assuming the streak only hits one 1x1.

@@NosferatusTG this info would be really helpful to me for the funniest reason, why my "railguns" are so goddamn effective? Like my lightest railgun armed on a a tank destroyer a single armor-piercing projectile with four weight blocks, a cone and four gyros for dampening is enough to penetrate through 20 layers of heavy weight blocks.

You for sure can, the only reason i dont make a plate full of pipes is because it is an INSANE cost on complexity for very little gain, to the point its very hard to make many builds But if you have the comp to spare, you can 100% do it and have it work well.

They are pretty tough to stop at all, your best bet may be to just make a huge cake of pins and 1x1 tubes, but even that will struggle

@@sargaa8471 Decently often they ban them from usage as the main weapon yes, but of course that goes from host to host In mine, at least, i usually allow only lasers with no autoaim at small quantities

@Mantle-l5o Yep, the only way to somewhat stop them is making huge blocks of 1x2 shields, 1x1 pipe blocks and a few lines of pins inbetween, but even then it is pretty fickle, they are just too strong

@@NosferatusTG They deal exactly double the amount of dmg that regular smart cannon/tiny cannons do iirc

@ForrestAttackHelicopter Its a bit more complicated than that, for most normal/average blocks that have 4UND they do 2 shot, but they also do 2 shot blocks that have 14 UND like heavy blocks and shields, they do also take 10 shots to kill a pin instead of 30, the math is all over the place
