Question #33 (Westminster Shorter Catechism Songs)
มุมมอง 1.6K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Question: What is justification? Answer: Justification is an act of God’s free grace, wherein he pardoneth all our sins, and accepteth us as righteous in his sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone. In this series, I'm setting the Westminster Shorter Catechism to music as a memorization aid. Since there are 107 questions in the catechism, this will...

Question: What is adoption? Answer: Adoption is an act of God’s free grace, whereby we are received into the number, and have a right to all the privileges of, the sons of God. In this series, I'm setting the Westminster Shorter Catechism to music as a memorization aid. Since there are 107 questions in the catechism, this will be a fairly lengthy project, involving lots of time and resources. Y...

The Postwar Consensus & The Christian Household
Dude. My name is Quinn Peterson and I used to make goat soap with my mom and dad and sell it. People often called me QP growing up too. This pitman guy stole my entire business model 😂
James 1:26-27 Psalm 68
Wow! Your Anointed Voice pierces the soul. His word sharply cuts to the quick. Penetrating the heart with its truth. Praise God!
Good work 👍🏼
I love this one! Please continue, memorizing is so much easier now with these! 😅
i almost start crying everytime i listen to this song it is so beautiful, thank you so much for all you do brian!
This is so refreshing to my soul. Thank you! I am encouraged to ask the Lord's help for the tasks He's handed me and set joyfully to the work. No more pity parties and complacency!
This is a topic that I find fascinating as I've been struggling with the same questions for a couple of years now. I've been a semi-crunchy mom for a while now but also notice that it is so hard to get things clean. Something that really triggered my questions was the new trend of now boiling our rags, etc on the stove to get them clean. Or soaking our clothing in a bathtub with a concoction of different chemicals to get the dirt and grime out. Why are we having to do this? Isn't it that what our washer is for?
I also agree with other commenters that I came to the show notes to find some links or hopefully Lexy's cleaning recipes, schedule, etc. Hoping that something you could add as it would be very helpful!
Please keep these songs coming
My absolute favorite of the Psalm songs you wrote. This is a blessing to my soul. Thank you.
I just told my wife that we could do a little science experiment: press the play button and see how long it would take for the kids to start fighting (kids always have the worst timing). We had to pause the episode for discipline at 0:03. I heard the first few words you said, that is all. 😂
There’s just something about this song and Brian suavé voice that makes me feel so calm and joyful. This is my absolute favorite song, I have to turn on a shuffle of Brian’s suavé music for bed for me to be able to sleep. Just close your eyes and play this song and feel the peace and calm. 😌
Bitcoin is a great honest money that can not be debased. It exceeds the good characteristics of God and offers greater utility.
"Thankful to plunder the Egyptians." Indeed.
Red flags and warning bells should come up when someone describes that an artificial head covering is of EXTREME importance like some people in the comments are trying to perpetuate. Most of the time they will make certain unsubstantiated arguments and dance around the topic but never really give you a scripture as to where it is a written that a woman is to wear a synthetic covering much less that it is of extreme importance. Often they will claim that people should look at how the letter was received by the ones to which it was written to, but fail to mention where? But more importantly why should people look to "another" writing? Shouldn't the scriptures be enough to explain itself? This is mostly because they cannot do an exegesis of the scripture and want you to rely on outside sources instead of the Bible just like they do. In addition to this they will claim that because some people wore hats or veils many years ago that this somehow justifies wearing one as a doctrine without learning if was a biblical doctrine. Though it is true that people like Tertullian and others wrote on veiling more than 150 years after the Bible was written it still isn't a biblical doctrine. In regards to Tertullian (aname that often comes up in this topic) agreed that virgins should be veiled (a concept not in the Bible). Given this it is hard to believe that he knew any better about covering as far as the Bible is concerned. Sometimes they will claim that talking about hair or hair length is nonsense. But was it nonsense for Paul to write: Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? 1 Cor 11:13 Paul cared about hair length on a man therefore it cannot be defined as nonsense. This kind of thinking is a form of scripture twisting with the hope that people don’t notice what the scriptures really say.
i absolutely LOVED this podcast. i stumbled across it researching human sexuality throughout the different ages. The one thing, i am 40 and divorced.... one son. so many if not literally all of your statements i 100% agree with. however, although i agree with everything you say about roles, responsibilities, expectations, health, and most of all, true mutual understanding of each other and each others needs, please also just consider there are those that have personal morals, ethics, openness, understanding, accepting, faithful, loving..... all of that, along with sin of course. but my own personal morals make me feel guilt and the desire to rectify things and so remorse. i think you guys could include your beliefs in the video of course. it wouldn't be the same without it. but perhaps also address the general population as a whole instead of a specific religious group. i believe you have much to offer to anyone willing to listen regardless of their religion. either way. i thoughtfully enjoyed hearing both of you and your perspectives. well done. just be a bit more accepting of those that can still learn wonderful life lessons that will benefit them and society with a bit less pushing. sorry for the long comment.
I love that you write songs for your children. Your songs for them remind me of the end of Genesis where Jacob is blessing all his sons.
I am really digging this new tuning. It’s brand new to me. Thanks for this as well as all the beautiful music.
It’s so crazy. I was just thinking I wish I could find a video on how to play this but there’s no chance. And here it is!! Praise God and thank you!
Awesome episode, guys! Very helpful! Make modesty great again!
Honestly, what a little sweety.
Amen
Is there a way to get Lexi's deep cleaning schedule and what she does for deep cleaning? Because I clearly need to do something different for my home.
Dude this is nice
wonderful in every way
My wife and I lost our baby to miscarriage, it’s been nearly three years since then and the Lord hasn’t opened her womb again as of yet. It’s hard to put into words the pain we’ve felt at the lowest times, but also how the Lord has grown us and is working on our trust in Him. We just want our lives to bring glory to the Him in whatever way that manifests. But for any one else reading this comment, who has gone through the same thing, know that your pain is real and that God knows all of it. He loves you more than you could image and there is even purpose buried in the pain. Take heart brothers and sisters God is in control.
Love this so much! Keep doing it! God bless. ✝
I had to pause this video at times, because some of the words nearly brought me to tears. Didn't want to shed tears in front of my wife, lest I be teased.
This song is so beautiful - brings me to tears. Can you post the lyrics or include them on Spotify? Thanks so much for making this music!
47:50 for the Narcissistic convo
Can we do better than Canon and The Wilson’s?
I danno... Can you? Do you have great grandchildren who are faithful to Christ that you can show us?
Not talking about me. But there are a plethora of other Christian writers and pastors who have faithful posterity who aren’t currently waging a war against Christianity by overtly promoting Judeo-Christianity and telling women to undermine their husbands.
So beautiful and so talanted! Praise God thank God!❤
1st question - I can hoghly recommend the Beginners Bible for young kids, really keeps the main point of scripture front and center!
Illness ASMR, your next joint venture. XD
Hope you'll all be on the mend asap.
Great stuff, guys!

We praising The Most High with this one!! 🔥✝🔥
I cannot believe there is only 10 comments on this. So thankful for your music bringing psalms and joy to my household 😊
Really like all your Psalms performances.
Let Earth receive her King, amen! 🎉
Was it Iris? That's the only song i know from them and it is almost completely relevant

Both these lyrics and the medley are so strong in my opinion. Its pretty chilling and breath taking yet beautiful.
I love this Hymn brings me back to my childhood. Thanks Brian for making such a great rendition of it! God Bless you Broth in Christ
