    I begin to withdraw the instant any person premises who they are with a race, religion, nationality or ideology. I then have to scan my entire brain trying to gather what I know about that social norm and its expectations of me before I can safely talk to that person. Interacting with just a woman as just a man is the easiest for me. Im good at carrying stuff and making money.

      Well, I imagine it would be helpful for you to do some internal work and determine why you are so triggered by how someone else identifies. Also, you might want to reflect on what it is about you that makes you have to work so hard to fit “expectations” of how people should be respected. 😊

    Ever since I was in grade school I have been called every derogatory word you can think of. Even my own family member will say to me at times " I don't know why my brother was born so light but I was born so dark ( mind you my father is dark). At school I was bullied because of my skin complexion, body type, you name it. No one would date me, be on their team, sit by me in class nothing. There was times I dreamed of being a light skin woman to be the pretty girl, get attention and for people to like me. Sometimes I wanted to take myself out because of this so I wouldn't have to deal with this everyday. As I grew older I have created an IDGAF attitude about what people think how I look! I know I look good inside and out and I'm not loosing any sleep about it either. As a dark skin black woman I am living in these fools head rent free and it's bothering this ish out of them and I love every bit of it.

      Yes, sis! I love how you have grown, and I think a lot of us start to love ourselves and our skin more once we get older. I think this is so important for us to share with the younger dark-skinned girls dealing with the BS many of us had to go through in school. And I’m so sorry for all the terrible experiences you went through. I hate that any of us are exposed to racism and colorism and have to heal from these painful experiences. 😔 Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

    I think I feel like a black woman... I'm a white man... and Gaslighting is a tool or weapon narcissists or less capable people than yourself use in order to confuse you.. you said it straight as it is.. as they just want to look good, rather than be good... they want to be in charge rather than take charge!.. And they covertly narcissistically use this as a power against you to weaken you, and play with your head due to the characteristics of yourself; they feel threatened by as you are better then them or a threat to their agenda! x

    • @herguidedevolution
      @herguidedevolution 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! And I think you are right. People feel more powerful when they gaslight us. Plus, it’s a lot easier to deny our reality than self-reflect and admit that they perpetuate, contribute to, and benefit from the toxic environment that damages our self-esteem.

    I agree with every thing you have said in the video! I have, unfortunately, (also) seen Black people (particularly Black women) wear themselves to the bone until they are nothing more than a fidgety & irritable mess. I will get back on track with my self care routines to not only re-build a loving relationship with my self but to also be a healthy example for my family. P.S. Thank you for the free self care pdf. ❤

      I think you're exactly right! And when you think about all the pressure society puts on us (Black women) to perform and work ourselves into the ground, it makes sense that we would be irritable and frustrated because OUR needs aren't being met, but we are still expected to take care of others. Good luck with your self-care routine sis, and let me know how it goes! <3
