Thanks, Michael, for editing this video and redoing the car portraits in one frantic afternoon. (Instagram: @michael.Taylr) The van even has an Instagram you can follow @03odyssey
Seems to be a class action law suit against toyota for this faulty part.
Part number ?
Had the engine maintenance on for a couple months. Old part was cracked and leaking coolant. Your video was super helpful Thank you!!!
Great informative video. I wanted to do this myself, but I just have one concern. When you are opening the coolant system like that, shouldn't you make sure there is no air left in the system when refilling lost coolant? I don't know if I'm old school and things have changed, but I remember burping the air out of the cooling system. It looks as though you just topped off in the reservoir. Am I missing something?
What is the part number? Or where did you purchase the part?
How do I get the electrical connector off...I'm dying over hear...Is there some kind of clip that's holding it on?
Where did you buy the oem part??
How many miles did you drive before you replaced it?
Thanks for this video. BUT, the mechanic's volume is very low, and the music is very loadly
This fixed my 2020 corolla engine maintenance required light
2021 Toyota Corolla le 1.8 with 197000. I bought the car new. never had a problem with anything.
The Harbor Freight Zurich dongle will pull up code using the app on phone. When replaced you can clear the code.
It’s not the the aftermarket didn’t fit it’s that you got the wrong one. There are 2. The one you bought is the one for the passenger side. That’s not the one that goes bad.
There are two very similar valves for the 2021 Corolla 2.0 liter with CVT: The one you change (16671-F2010) and another for the CVT (transmission). How do we get to that second valve (16671-F2020)
Thanks for this video! Doing this replacement tonight on my fams 2020 Corolla sedan. Code started showing up at 103k miles just like this hatch had in the video 😂
Mine just started showing too at 103k too 😂😂
@@christianlmunoz apparently it's the magical mileage for it to appear lol
How did you go with that? Did you replace it on your own?
@@AussieArslan yup I did the replacement myself!
@@nikkisavo7293 That's great...
I would be afraid not to use OEM parts for something like this.
To determine if it is the valve. Start the car with the ac off a couple times and if the message goes away then it’s the valve.
Got the same issue can u drive for a week until my appointment its a 2020 corolla se upgrade went the the dealer scanned it they said P268115 engine coolant bypass valve circuit short to battery or open reqires bypass valve
This one was driven longer than a week with the issue. I don’t think it’s a critical failure. You can always call the shop doing the work.
Where did you buy the parts at the dealership? What is the part number?
Call the dealership. They'll ask for the last 8 of you VIN number which you can find on the vehicle or the title. They'll know the part and will get you the right one for your car.

Broke one of the clamps 😱. Where do I get a replacement?
From the parts department inside Toyota dealer
Hillside Toyota in NYC quoted over $1,200 to replace the engine coolant bypass valve on 2020 Camry Hybrid XLE🤬
Let’s hope the new parts being installed don’t have the same flaw.
Do I have to use that little pick or can I use something similar?
You can use whatever it takes to get the job done so long as you don’t break the plastic clip.
I thought it was the pink antifreeze not red?
Go by the owner’s manual. I’m just some fool on TH-cam. If it helps, this car already had the red stuff in it so that’s why I chose red.
Read your owner's manual. Many colors will work but the requirements for specific coolant characteristics are in your manual.
So glad I chose the 1.8 liter in my 2020 Corolla instead of this dynamic force engine.Everyone with this motor having this problem.
It’s no big deal. Part cost $120 takes about 30 minutes to install and im a noob.
@@Hernsama True, dealer wanted $750, then I asked the price for the part and they said $150. Dealerships scam super hard. Then I bought the part on the Toyota website for $98 which will shipped that same dealer. smh😞
lol for $100 part 😂
Very informative
