@WizelBalan yes I love the old eltigres , I have a 1973 el tigre 400 also . I am using these old eltigres for vintage snowmobile racing . I am a die hard Arctic Cat rider since my first sled I bought with my own money when I was 15 in 1979 .. I bought a 1977 Jag 3000 so I am just like you ...my buddies dad had a 79 el tigre 6000 and he would let me ride it all the time and I just dreamed of owning one of them ...where I live in Eastern Washington state it is hard to find old eltigres ,just wasn't as many sold out here like in the Midwest, I purchased this 6000 from a wheat farmer who was original owner and bought it brand new ... with regards to yours I would not rebuild them if they run strong and not making any terrible noises or pinging like piston slap ect. I would check the compression on them twice a year and if it starts to drop bad I would rebuild it then , however saying that you really don't want to blow one up and ruin the jugs or piecs fall in the crank and tear stuff up ...I definetly have just as much if not more fun riding this old iron than I do on my new Mountain sleds ...they go alot faster than the mountain sleds down the trail .

My elite 9 I will turn on when it is parked in my garage at home and it is set up with my home wi fi so it will do new updates if available when they come out ...it has been so long now when I set it up I cant remeber if I had to go into the menu and settings on the Elite 9 and open the gateway to talk to the trolling motor ...I will go look at mine and fire it up and see when I get a chance and get back to you ....does your elite 9 even recognize your motorguide motor when you turn it on (the motor) ...it should show on top of your screen when in trolling mode or anchor mode ect in little words ...then hit navigation from your menus and open motor controls ...does your Elite 9 fs2 have gps in it (mapping) ? My Elite 9 is a Ti2 with gps navigation , I can touch my map and make a mark and have my motor navigate to it and I can touch the fish making a mark on my sonar screen when trolling and have the motor take me to that fish or mark ...it is pretty sweet when working right.

Why do you say that ...it has been a great motor with no problems ...I saw someone at the boat launch this weekend as we were pulling our boats out and he was asking me about my motor as his hummingbird gps motor quit working on him on the trip ,he was wondering if I knew what it could be ...

@@freetired oh man that really sucks ...I guess I am lucky then ...mine has been a great motor and gps holds me tight in position and I use mine alot ,I live right on the Columbia river so I and always chasing walleye ...I got the motorguide because I like Lowrance Sonars so I got my XI3 networked with my Elite 9 sonar and never had a problem ....I hope you got some time on the water this summer ...

@@freetired I want her your videos ..that does suck ...on mine I hit anchor to lock and I hit M to take it off of lock ..and do you network your motor with your sonar ? Mine will say anchor mode on my screen when locked in ...so I am curious what was wrong with your motor ...bad programming?
