Outstanding video 👍👍
Excellent video shots of the Black Five.
My piggie was also making the exact same noise like an owl. Took her to the vet & turns out she’s healthy. Vet thinks it was because of the dust from the wood bedding & hay!
Great video 👍
No one will top this footage of this railtour.
My piggy was making this with crackling sounds. I thought he was choking so pressed the sides of his ribs and he came good. They might be choking. After this happens give them some greens to eat
Great sound track.
What is that short, soft “coo” sound? My piggie does that sometimes…. Does anyone know?
Sometimes the cooing can be a sign of a heart problem or a respiratory problem. I suggest getting your piggie checked out at the vet. My particular piggie in this video, Grenwen, didn't have any kind of respiratory disease despite this noise that she'd make occasionally, but it is hard to tell the issue without checking it out at the vet.
Thank you so much for responding. We will have our precious piggie checked ❤
It could be a respiratory infection I've had guinea pigs that made this sound
My guinea pig who is 7 years old, is occasionally having this “breathing noises” exactly like the guinea pig in the video. The weird thing is that he is drinking and eating good, and is still really active and curious (like he has always been). So I just hope that the reason that he is breathing so weird is nothing dangerous.
Mines doing this im really worried i dont know what to do
My guinea pig is making almost same sound but it's only noticeable when I hear it closely by putting my ear around his chest it's really low. I'm still worried
One of my piggies just passed yeasterday and her cagemate stsrted making this exact sound, at first I thought she was crying or she had a respritory infection im rally worried about her
I know this video is quite old but this same thing is happening with my guinea pig. He has been making this sound now for a month, probably like 15 minutes every day. Sometimes he coughs and it stops. I took him to the vet, who is really good with guinea pigs, and they said he is super healthy and no sign of URI or heart problems. They gave us antibiotics for 7 days just in case if it was an URI, and tomorrow it's the last day of antibiotics and he still keeps making this sound. I'm worried and not really sure what I should do, but it's weird, because he's really happy and living his best life with no other symptoms! I have changed his bedding but still going to try to change his hay, if it would help. Thank you so much for this video, I showed it to the vet.
Hey! Having the exact same issue as you. My guinea pig makes these sounds for about 4 hours then coughs pretty hard and then it goes away for an hour or so or even more and then it keeps coming back. There must be something stuck that’s not quite getting out. Any update on yours or things that helped? This info is literally nowhere else on the internet.
@@yakobelmoussa This issue is really weird. I feel like it's quite common but nobody knows what it actually is, if it's not URI or heart related. I'm sorry your piggy is having the same problem :( I changed the bedding for a while, didn't help, and changed the hay, didn't help. I feel like he is now doing the sound a bit less than before but it still happens sometimes. He lives a very happy life, he is very active and eats and poops normally. The sound doesn't seem to bother him at all! I'm sorry I don't have much tips how to help, I can only recommend taking the pig to the vet if you haven't already x
So cute
I know this is a long time ago, but did you ever discover the problem? The piggy had a wet chin, which leads me to think of tooth problems immediately. That is usually the culprit, though infections can cause if there is abscess somewhere.
No, it reoccurred a few times in her life but didn't progress into anything and she had no other symptoms. She didn't have any tooth problems, thankfully. Thanks for your comment, which may help other guinea pig owners.
@@Graid awww thanks for the update and I hope you had a nice long life with your Grenwen. Such a cutie!
My piggie has been doing this it just started today. But he has been sneezing before this started happening. I’m worried.
It could be pneumonia. The rain in the background (if that's what I was hearing) could suggest that there has been a sudden drop in the temperature. This is exactly what causes guinea pigs to contract pneumonia. If it is left unchecked then your guinea pig will get very sick and the result will be fatal.
Thankfully it wasn't pneumonia (she had this cooing occasionally through her life with no apparent ill effect and saw a vet over it) but thank you for your comment, someone else who is reading this may have a pig with these symptoms that has pneumonia and needs to read this.
Thank you to all the people who commented and the creator of this video! My 11 year old piggie has been suffering a little wheezing every now and then for the past few days and I was worried that she was terribly uncomfortable and in distress. I will try the commonly suggested treatments and I hope she remains happy for her likely last few months 💕
ELEVEN????? WOW!
Such a floof ball!!😂
I've always used scissors to cut my guinea pigs' hair- it was difficult, they HATED it, and it took a million years. The second I saw this video, I tried it out and it was MIRACULOUS. The boys were so happy and sat incredibly still while I did it. Their fur is also a lot more even now, that was another annoying thing about the scissors. If you have a guinea pig whose hair needs trimming, this was a lifesaver!! Thank you so much for giving me the inspo to do this!!
I'm very glad to hear that this video helped you and your pigs! Being really impressed with the night and day difference it made was the reason I decided to film it and share what I'd learned.
My Guinea pig is making this noise too, but he is eating well and drinking well. However I did hear him cough and sneeze like 3times a day and he has some yellow discharge from his eyes. But the vet only said that his heart and lung is clear, only breathing a little faster. What should I do next? It's been 4 days and he is stilling making the same noise
He may be okay if his lungs sound clear- my guinea pig Grenwen recovered from doing this. For peace of mind you may wish to seek a second opinion from another vet. You can also ask for advice on guinea pig forums such as guinea lynx.
Clever pigs!
A very minor, routine film with a "non-actor" for a leading man who wears an obvious wig and a bland storyline. Orson Welles manages to bring a spark to the plot when he finally appears.
They are adorable and smart 😊
Good job pigs! :D
Piggies make noises when their angry, happy, excited or trying to gain dominance don’t worry it’s a happy noise
No, it's not that type of noise. I am familiar with the usual guinea pig noises.
My guinea pig did this, made a weird sound and stopped. These comments make me feel so much better! Thank you! I think it was just something stuck inside and needed to come out. 🐹
Upper respiratory infection. I’d get it checked out
Thank you!! To everyone in the comments!! I have been freaking out about this...and you all have answered my questions and concerns! Thank you!! Really I cant thank you guys enough! Espeshally the creator of the video, I would have never figured any of this out if it wernt for this video and the comments!!
It's because she ate too much hay and it was probably dusty.. My guinea pig was making exact same noise in the middle of the night, then she sneeze and everything was all right 😊 so don't worry
I hope mines the same :(
My Guinea pig is about 3 or 4 months old and making this noise sence yesterday and when he trys to squeak and makes that noise but loudly what do I do?
Uh does it sound like clicking when he breaths
@@codredmoto I figured out he has URI he was wheezing sneezing and crusty eyes he got a shot and is on medication
@@mincelesson hope he gets better
It’s most likely a URI
I agree, but in her case, it wasn't. She saw a vet and was declared not to have a URI. I believe she had antibiotics just in case. However, the problem reoccurred several times throughout her life, usually returning and then disappearing again fairly quickly.
Graid my little piggy levi keeps making this noise, he’s done it before and sneezed and went away. this time it’s been off and on for atleast 3 days. he’s acting fine and eating/drinking. should i see a vet?
I've been doing some research and watching youtube videos. One of my guinea pigs is doing the same thing. I have two girls, Maysi and Eva. I had just noticed Maysi making a weird sound while she was sleeping, I described it to my mom as a "snore or cooing sound" at first I thought she was snoring, like I said, she was sleeping. I read a lot of these comments, they definitely calmed me down. The whole time she was doing it, every time Eva came near her she would chatter at her and sometimes lunge at her. After a few minutes, Maysi did it really hard a few times and she stopped suddenly. I checked on her a bit and she seemed completely fine, now her and Eva are cuddling and sleeping. I figured it was something stuck in her throat. Also I'd like to mention that Maysi is around five years old, so she is well aged. Just wanted to mention that as I'm not sure if it's something with older piggies. She seems to alright now, but I'm definitely going to keep an eye out in case of a URI, please do the same if your piggie is doing this! And look up symptoms of a URI in guinea pigs just to be safe.
I just realised today that Kyle Sandilands reminds me of Orson Welles. It possibly why I even noticed Sandilands in the first place.
Saw this film today and was thrilled to see Orson Welles in it as it was fairly odd, as if the cast were indoubt of themselves, carrying it to him as an offering. Then he appears later in the film, intense with subdued rage. A rare gem as always.
I just woke up at like 4 in the morning and my littlest gunipig is cooing like that
My guinea pig went to the vet three days ago and was told she had a urinal tract infection and now she is doing this and im not sure what to do but i think she just needs a good cough
If she is already on anti-biotics, which she should be for her UTI, then she's already on the same treatment she'd get for an Upper Respiratory infection. You should probably address it when you see the vet again though. Is it possibly due to how you're syringing her medicine?
I was putting it just behing her two front teeth just like the vet said but she died anyway due to other complications of her health thanks for the tip tho xx :(
I really appreciate the fact that this video was uploaded four years ago and you still got back to me
Have you got instagram mine is """"@alice_crocker1
My guinea pig has always made this noise. I adopted her some months ago and never knew it was unusual. She mostly does it when she’s eating. It’s like she’s trying to eat as fast as she can afraid I will take it back. I don’t know if I should be worried because she’s been to the vet before and they said she was healthy they even checked her heart. Wouldn’t they hear if something was wrong when checking heart beat and breathing? Now I’m terrified my guinea pigs are my life and she’s my favorite. The other won’t even let me hold her.
Had this happen to my pig about 5 times it means they have something stuck in their throat like hay they usually cough it up
My gueina pig does this! He is fine it usually when he is hungry
My guinea pig was making the same noise too, when I wrapped her up in a blanket. This usually means that they are allergic or have allergies to whatever that is, most likely the hay or bedding. I would say try using different hay or bedding.
My guinea pig was making the same sound and I was worried. A few days passed and this morning I gave her water and food and she didn’t run out and act excited like she usually does. I had school so I decided if she wasn’t feeling better by the time I got home I would take her to the vet. Well when I got home she passed. It was really heartbreaking. So if you can, take your guinea pig to the vet asap!
Thx for the video. My piggie is doing it right now and he’s going to the vet tomorrow :) hope he’s okay
I feel so sorry
My pig is doing the same thing! I’m taking him in this morning. Fingers crossed he’s ok!🤞🏻
PiggiesN’parrots how if your guinea pig? Mine is doing similar sounds... 🙁
Adelia Hayrettin mine is good. We took him in and they said he’s as clear as a whistle. He must have just inhaled some dust. How’s yours?
PiggiesN’parrots My piggie is still making such sounds. I even changed his bedding and hay. Took him to the vet today and I was told that he has sore throat. I need to give him antibiotics for a week and he has a follow up check up again.
It's asthma.
That worries me, my Guinea pig is going to the vet tomorrow...but is it expensive to treat?
My guinea had this too yesterday. I took her out of the cage to check on her, then she started breathing and snorting very heavily, almost like she couldn´t breath at all. I really thought she gonna die that moment but thankfully she calmed down and seemed to be able to breath again. Still those weird sounds all the night. Today I was at the vet to let them check her. She stopped doing those sounds. She is fine. The vet found nothing. Just left me very confused what it was o.o
My guniea pig has the same problem rn
My piggy Monty started doing this a few months ago and seems to do it less now, but still occasionally does. It seems to happen mostly in the early mornings. We tried different types of hay to see if it was an allergy, and changing the bedding type. This didn't make a difference. He has seen 3 different vets and all have said he is completely clear, nothing wrong with his organs and he's very healthy. He has some nasal discharge occasionally. I suspect this might be an allergy, or just him trying to unblock his nose. He seems to feel better after sneezing. Also, this is more related to him personally, but he does tend to shove his face into hay so I doubt this does him any favours! If you have this problem too then just make sure they're ok with the vet, keep an eye on them (check them regularly) and make sure their behaviour stays consistent. I figure this odd sound he makes is not a life threatening thing and isn't a sign of some underlying problem.
