Reminds me of the old days, 1988 or there abouts, catching gilgies as a kid with nothing but a line, meat and a net. Our old turf was Gosnells, down in the Canning river near Albany Hwy and what is now the Gosnells Civic Centre. Back in the day that place used to be a Mecca for gilgies, and marron on occasion. Not sure about how it rates now, both in fishability and safety of eating lol

All good but where can the average guy go to get a feed of yabbies

This makes me want to move Down Under. Man you caught that first catch in 40 minutes? Here in the U.S. we have to set traps and leave them overnight for crawfish. And those Yabbies are monsters! Here in the Appalachian Mountains it's hard to get a crawfish big enough to eat. Most are only good for bait, but we do get the rare big ones, but they're so far and few in between they'll never make a feast. Maybe next April we can do a trade, I'll do my best to get some "Dry Land Fish" or common morel mushrooms for you and in exchange you can give me some yabbies.

Easier to fillet and remove skin with a knife, skin down like you normally fillet and skin a fish. But Cobbler fishing is banned in the Swan River. Cheers

Near reefs. Sandy bottom is what they like nearish the shoreline Raw prawn. Ox heart. Red meat. Squid. Bait chaser cut in half if yr lazy and useless and can’t make a rig. 1oz sinker max How about you lot actually try and learn something about the fish yr targeting rather being spoon fed every single Friken thing in life. Next time get a bigger pot or put less in at once. I catch and cook to so I'm not canning you but be humane mate. Love that dam. I've never seen anyone use dog food before. I always use a beef or pork snag cut up or a bit of liver. Those Yabb's were bloody clean though. Well done.
