Mount Vernon Trail
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 8 ก.ค. 2021
The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail was formed in September 2018 by a group of dedicated trail users, inspired by Ellen Pickering and Barbara Lynch’s legacy. The Friends are a varied group of trail users, runners, walkers, families, and bike riders from the Washington DC region. They believe that the trail supports health and high quality of life, is an important historical and environmental resource and is a cornerstone of our regional transportation system.
The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail supports the National Park Service in keeping the trail safe and welcoming for all users through education, trail maintenance, and community events.
The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail hold regular activities for the public as well as monthly organizing meetings and volunteer opportunities. All are welcome to volunteer, attend events, and get involved in projects.

Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail removes graffiti from a bridge near Washington DC. The graffiti was first treated for 30 minutes with Elephant Snot graffiti removal. Due to a lack of water resources we used a RYOBI 40V EZ CLEAN Power Cleaner with buckets of river water to wash off the graffiti remover. Timelapse shot with a GoPro Max camera. Now that is attention to detail. Thanks for the effort.
THANK YOU!!!!!
This is such an excellent resource. I am currently working with a new trail system in my area, and I am working on developing educational workshops for basic trail maintenance. These videos really help participants visualize best management practices, and sustainable trail maintenance.
conforting video !! thnak you la team
Cool 😎
lol it will be covered again in a week
rip i thought you were gonna hit a huge piece over it, i get wanting to keep it clean but i prefer some art on a wall vs blank
LOL at the fitting music. Yay Brian and Anna!
Boooo
Thank you!!!!!!!!
No.
Whatever you were trying to dpo, you did it poorly that make proper tools for that
If I had known you were doing this, I would have let you borrow my mattock.
Next time use the biggest holesaw bit you got and mulch then you can scoop it out whatever you were doing with the screwdriver anf the chisel and the hammer is just a waste of time
I didn't realize there were so many parking options for bikes, thanks for making this video! We need more bike friendly airports like this!
This is very helpful. Thanks!
It's not your fault. It's the asphalt.
Good work, guys. The cold mix should hold up pretty well the way you used it.
where's @AsphaltKingdom when we need him
Judd from @asphaltkingdom 🤝 Judd from @mountvernontrail
isn't that more like a path?
Good job guys 👍🏼
Gorgeous! Someone should commission your work asap!
We will put it up in a museum and call it "white rectangle".
Maybe tangential, but it's also cool to see the bond that has developed between C and M.
Always nice to see people doing good things for the sake of it. Good job.
The best volunteer organization😀
How long did this take? How long does it take to cure?
It was about 30 minutes of work for two people, but that was mostly because we had to spend time removing some overgrown grass from the trail. We use Sakrete All Weather patch which can be ridden over immediately after tamping. We sprinkle a little bit of dirt on top of it so it's not sticky. The patch cures pretty solid after a week or so.
u call this a large???
Yes.
Thanks guys! That one was always a thorn in my side (bottom?) when I lived in that area.
This was probably the sneakiest pothole on the trail. It didn't look like a pothole until you hit.
Mary and Anna crushing it.
go Cam go!
Passenger princess. What is not to love? 😍
Can I pet dat dawg?
The cargo box serves as a safety zone in high noise environments such as a Redlands Bowl concert or beer fest at Escape; it's not uncommon to peek inside and seeing both my dogs sleeping during an event.
In Germany we say: "Hält von 12:00 bis Mittags"
Heros (No Capes Necessary) 👏👏👏
that automobile car / broken vacuum cleaner noise in the background, it's disgusting the hear in an - apparently - developed country. Hope you'll make the turn to the 21st century someday - keep up the great work :)
weirdly rude comment. I'm anti-car too, highways suck, but even the netherlands has highways man
Thanks guys!
Legends 👌🖖🤙
Thank you !!!
Dang Englishters brought starlings over, too.
She's a pro. Good job Jolene!
I recommend a cooling pad and freezing water bottles that you can wrap in cloth to keep her cool. Plus battery operated stroller fans.
When the cargo bike is moving you get a pretty good breeze in there!
If Cameron were born a generation earlier, she absolutely would have had her own public access TV show.
Jolene is the perfect riding buddy! The Bunch bike is such a great set up to bring a pup along on the trail!
Yay Jolene! She’s a natural! Seriously I think she trained you.
I used to live in Belle View so I used this bridge all the time. I had no idea it was slated for replacement and so soon; it looks incredible! I’ll have to ride down there again soon, thanks for putting it up on the ‘tube :)
It's worth a visit. It's wide enough now that you can comfortably stop and enjoy the views of the marsh with plenty of room for other trail users to pass.
@mountvernontrail - Amazing of just like cars speeding past construction workers on the highway... appeared that the bicyclists on the trail very little attempted to slow down in the "work zone" of your trail repair! Wow! 🍀🙀💥 😇
never knew asphalt could be happy to see you.
🤣 Is that a root heave in the trail or is it just happy to see us?
Thank you. I wish you could do Capital Crescent Trail next
The CCT could definitely use some love. Staying on the canal seems smoother these days.
