NYC's Funniest & Weirdest Street Art Stickers
STREET ART can be beautiful murals, but the strange, mysterious and often funny stickers you find all around New York City also qualify. NYC is an art gallery, and in this video we’ll just walk around together to take it all in, and maybe laugh a little. You’ll see weird slogans, leftist comics, raunchy drawings, hilarious photos and compelling illustrations - on wheatpaste posters, stickers, sidewalks and walls.
Street artists from around the world bring their attitude and vibes to New York streets through grafitti, painted murals and sticker art.
EDLUNDART is a boutique design and animation studio in New York City, and now also a TH-cam channel for artists and creative people featuring me, a random guy in a hat but also variously a graphic designer, animator, artist, Art Director and Creative Director entertainingly talking my way through videos on art, design, animation, culture, creativity, and business from the perspective of an artist entrepreneur and small business owner.

People Think This Man’s Death Is A Work of Art
มุมมอง 1.5K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
ART: Dutch conceptual artist Bas Jan Ader sets sail from America, looking to cross the Atlantic ocean alone in a 13-foot boat. When he disappears, many people think he did it as a work of art. Theories spread, with some people arguing he is alive and well and living a new life in a new location, while others think he is dead and that his death is a perfect masterpiece. This story is an enduring...
Ranking Funny Japanese Mundane Halloween Costumes 🤣
มุมมอง 484หลายเดือนก่อน
Mundane Halloween, also known as jimi halloween, is a funny Japanese idea to dress up in costumes that are so everyday they have to be explained, or you might miss that the person is even wearing a costume. It’s a great tradition in Japan for shy people and introverts who still want to celebrate Halloween, at least on social media. These costumes are funny and hilarious in a quiet, subtle way, ...

Plus, a Goofy parody by Italian comics artist Andrea Pazienza, and an interesting Mickey Mouse ...
On Zooming In

A video essay, sort of, on the intimacy of zooming in, exploring how it can be enticing to get up close and personal in art and in life. First, I talk about spying on New York City neighbors, then I get captured by a traffic camera as an experiment in self portraiture, before I go looking for myself at a Bjork concert in historical footage. Finally, I try to draw small and make it big. EDLUNDAR...

Designer Reacts to Paris 2024 Olympic Pictograms

OLYMPICS PICTOGRAMS - As a graphic designer, I review the pictograms illustrating each sport in the 2024 Paris Olympics. I look at individual pictograms (you may think of them as icons) and also compare this set to designs for previous Olympics, and discuss what makes this year’s designs pretty unique relative to what’s been done before. Learn and laugh, as this is just a fun graphic design vid...
The Tyranny of Niches
มุมมอง 5715 หลายเดือนก่อน
Across social media platforms including TH-cam, creators are told to fit their content into niches. If you don't have a clear niche, you will struggle to find an audience. But people are more complicated than that - we all have multiple interests and sides to our personalities. Having to fit everything into one niche can feel quite restrictive. I say no to this tyranny of niches! And yes to a d...

What Grant's Tomb & Taylor Swift Have In Common, Sort of

Instagram Is Dead But Art Is Alive

Artists are frustrated with Instagram, as the social media platform is essentially dead in terms of building and reaching an audience for designers, illustrators, photographers and other artists. In the USA Harvey Publications, owners of the Caspar the Friendly Ghost copyright sued Columbia Pictures, claiming that the Ghostbusters logo infringed on Caspar copyrights. The court ruled that the design of a ghost is generic and can't be copyrighted.
It seems more like a Howard the duck rip off than Donald... Disney owns Marvel now, maybe they'll try again.
Disney's 373 alt accounts disliked this video.
Who's got the sweetest disposition?!? The one who keeps receipts.
interesting. i cant help wonder if his lawyers would have pointed out that a duck is from God/nature and Disney took inspiration from that, therefore he too can use a natural duck as inspiration. any similarities would result from the fact a duck is a duck & a ducks likeness belongs to us all. its not as if ducks are only here in the USA, you've got ducks over there.
I think you have been blessed by logic and common sense, but legal systems and frameworks both in the US and Scandinavia, one feels, are perhaps not always so blessed 😉
Howard the Duck had the same copyright issue. So they made him wear pants and etcetera.
Yes, it's an interesting story, a lot of people brought him up. I included him in another video on this channel ("Duck Around And Find Out"). Thanks for watching and commenting!
I love it when big corpos get outsmarted and there is nothing they can do
Love the street art videos, especially stickers
I'll consider doing more in the future - thanks for watching!
in the 50's when Disneyland was being built, my parents fresh from the war got their first house near San Francisco. my mother want to landscape her yard, naturally. imagine her surprise when she was told there would be *no* decorative wrought iron available for a couple of years. Disney had bought *all* of the stock.
That's interesting. At least Disney didn't trademark wrought iron, I guess! Thanks for watching and commenting.
"Craziest, funniest, most awe inspiring story involving copyright" ? Totally oversold this story lol.
Disney woke and broke now.
Wouldn’t classifying his work as satire or parody have been much easier?
1:38 that almost looks like a musician called Daedelus, but not quite.
Hmm, that's an interesting suggestion, based on a Google Image search. Thanks for commenting! I sort of thought everyone would immediately know this person's face and I would feel totally out of it as a result, but so far it seems like it may be a more obscure thing.
love to see slaps from other places, please do more videos like this
Thanks! I’d love to make more videos like this, if there’s a demand. In the meantime, I have a couple of other street art videos on my channel, although they’re not the greatest, as I’m still figuring out how to do this TH-cam thing, and I’ve gotten somewhat better at it since I made those videos. But you may still enjoy them! Either way, thanks for watching this one, and thanks for your comment. 🙏
thank you for showing us around. i really enjoyed the presentation and commentary, and the selected works are exquisite.
Thanks so much! It was a fun video to make, I love this kind of stuff. Your kind comment is appreciated. 🙏
wow haha
Didn’t Howard the Duck do this way earlier?
There are quite a few stories involving ducks and Disney! I talk about some of them, including Howard, in my “Duck around and find out” video on this channel. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Well played.
this was Sofa king entertaining
I didn’t get that double meaning until after I edited the video, 😂. Sometimes I am Sofa king slow!
You cannot copyright an animal or the personification thereof. Satire is protected as well as parody. American copyright is written into the Constitution. We are the only country with such a clause in our founding document. Satire and parody are protected as well so as to secure its use as political free speech. That letter would not hold up in an American court even with the manipulation of copyright law for this particular copyright holder.
I believe those communist things are remnants of the recent psyop by putin
Golden 💯
mickey jesus
I am sofa king
Me too!
The portrait after the Affimative Youth sticker looks like it could be Bad Boy Bubby
Wow... had to google that - that's a deep cut! Hard to tell, but seems conceivable. Thanks for chiming in!
Great video! I really like searcxhiung for stickers and murals in any city I visit. btw "Borrachos" is a word in Spanish that means "drunks"
Thanks! Ah, that’s great context for that sticker. Appreciate it. 😀🙏
Love this! I love taking pictures of them when i visit big cities.
Thanks, me too - it’s like a whole additional layer to discover about a place!
Fascinating af, love it
Brillant, just brilliant!
Aesthetic warning: very cool
Ah yes, I should have added that disclaimer! 🤣 Nah, but thanks for the kind comment. 🙏
hey disney....got any sour gwapes?
🥳. .💘. . !
It was fun trying to research some of these. Only found a few, but they were all clearly marked like Mew 17:01 Also 4:48 the Zipgun was a dude chillin on the subway reading a magazine and eating chips.
Your comment inspired me to look up Zipgun as well - funny how my assumptions about what that image depicted were so wrong, lol! But I like the style of it though. Zipgun sounds like a cool project. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@edlundart honestly I loved your assumption, as it felt plausible and I could see your version in my head.
@@toTheWatcher It was like I was doing an "Exquisite Corpse" exercise in my brain, hahah
Nice
Great video!👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Is there an English translated version?
There is now an English translation of newer material (not the stuff in this video), available to buy from the artist's website - I put a link in the video description. He ships the book to Europe, UK, & the US.
your english diction, phrasing & pronunciation is better than 99% of native speakers :) great video indeed - hope there are ready to use magazine templates too as unlike you i have Zero design skills 😊
Hey, thanks! I believe there are some pre-made templates, if I remember correctly.
so we're all supporting plagiarism now and call it good art.. ? Nice..
Genius! :)
so hes a duck that looks like a bird pretending to be a duck
LMFAO wonderful!
This is why intellectual property isnt real.
7:50
I thought it would be “Howard the duck” lol
Love it! Duck vs Disney... Arne Wins. 😎🇦🇺
HAHA! Er det noe jeg aldri trodde ville dukke opp på YT så er det Arne And! Skål kosmonauter!
Skål!
Yes, I remember well those comix! Disney’s attack boosted the popularity of the series enormously, everybody loved their solution 😂🤣
So Arne is basically Bojack Duckman?
So many of these comic artists in every country copying Disney because they can’t use their own ingenuity or create their own original work. Then making money of the back of Walt Disney’s own genius. Disney lets fan art sell all the time, people like him should lose for making an income out of it. They should’ve sued him again for using the Walt Disney name on the weight. He didn’t beat the lawyers.
typical greed of every big american corporation
