Down to Vacay
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 ก.ย. 2022
For the past 10 years we have been traveling all over the world. It wasn't until 2021 where I (Gil) contracted the COVID virus and developed blood clots in my lungs that I realized how important it was to live life. Had I waited another day or 2, I would have died. After recovering, I wanted to make sure that I shared our story and our travels in hopes that we could/can influence others to live as much as they possibly can because the next day isn't promised.
At some point in the future I would love to provide vacations for under privileged kids and families so that they can see the world and enjoy a lifetime of amazing memories. Join us as we push out more. We also provide CUSTOM DESIGNS for apparel and home. Gil is a Graphic/Multimedia Designer by night. So if you're looking for custom designs for your Family Reunion trip, be sure to reach out on our website @ www.downtovacay.com.

Carnival Mardi Gras: 00:11
Carnival Celebration: 00:31
Carnival Horizon: 01:02
Carnival Panorama: 01:35

We looked at many of the reviews of Carnival cruise ships and factored in our experiences as well. Honestly, we hadn't sailed on as many cruises as Norwegian, but we were able to experience the new and old of Carnival. We've seen so many videos and stories of Carnival cruises and can say there are way more positives than negatives. From what we have seen, these are the top choices of cruisers.

MSC Meraviglia Review: It's better than you think

We were wrong waaaay before we even got on the Meraviglia. It may be the most luxurious budget cruise we've been on so far. For a Aurea Balcony package, it's not exactly the cheapest, but it does give you some perks to make it feel like you've score big time. The ship itself is rather big, but we felt as if they could have done more or added more to make it a better experience. The food was so ...

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is one of the toughest issues to deal with that isn't life threatening. I have gone through so much in the years dealing with IBS, and although I do travel a lot, it is something that takes a bit of preparing. And there's no guarantee that you'll be 100% ok. MSC Meraviglia Balcony Cabin Review
มุมมอง 1.1K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Welcome back to the early 2000's. MSC Meraviglia isn't going in the traditional direction for decor on a cruise ship. They opted for their own European style. It's not horrible to say the least. This cabin is normal in size and setup. What hurts this cabin is the lack of ports and outlets. For a 2018 built ship, this cabin sure feels like it was built in the 90's. From the color choice to the f...

Virgin Voyages: The Scarlet Lady Pajama Party is Sexy
I just came back from this cruise Nov17-24. There were a few negatives including the bedside light which had a mind of their own and kept going on and off on their own, waking me up. These lights kept waking me up. Sailed from Brooklyn as well. Got off after taking my own large piece of luggage. Got off around 7:15 and was in my house before 8:30 after calling an Uber. Got several apology letters from the cruise line and some “gift” from them after their mistakes. Other complaints as well but won’t go into that here, parking as of this writing was $45.00 a day so we didn’t opt for that. Got a lift to the port from my son. Our room was 12247. Terribly small. They got rid of their library in order to add more casino machines. Very bad with regard to spoons and cups. I DID complain to the person on charge. I was told people steal the cups or they are taken to the rooms and left there. I told them they COULD put more containers with spoons by the cereal section instead of only ONE. I suggested the company use paper cups. I was told the reason is the advertising on the ceramic sups. I did suggest that the MSC logo could be put on paper cups as well AND these paper cups could be recycled as I know the ships try to be “green”. Not a good enough answer and a worker told me I could get cups on the OTHER side, so my response was “:So let me get this straight…you want ME to go across with all these crowds to get my own cups? They’re SUPPOSED to be here.” Well, the POSITIVE thing is the cruise PRICE. Very reasonable for my husband and me. As far as the theatres… I didn’t feel we should have to pay for entertainment if we chose to go to another show at another theatre. Great view for us as well upon pulling out of Brooklyn. We too were on the left side. This is one notch above Carnival but no comparison to Holland America or Celebrity which we loved! We have been on about 8 different lines. If you haven’t tried Celebrity ( Beyond was wonderful ), try other cruise lines!
Thanks for the review. Thinking of March 2025 from Brooklyn. What is the cost of the Spa? How many times did you use the balcony? Thanks from Atlantic Canada!!!
Thanks for taking the time to watch our video. Hopefully you got some valuable information. We got he Fantastica experience which included access to the thermal spa, wifi and drink package. It was around $270+ per person. Def worth it since there's at least 2 days out at sea. Wirth the indoor pool it makes it easier for those rainy days too. Plus the bar at the indoor pool is the better one. Have you looked into NCL Escape or Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the Seas? Little bit extra, but the Escape is one of the best balanced ships out there for the food, entertainment and activities. All depends on your budget.
Holland America has pickleball courts on most of their ships. In fact they’re certified by the Professional Pickleball Association.
That's pretty cool. We have yet to go on that ship. Many ships actually haaa Just saw a video of a Pickle Ball championship game where a player kicked the winner in the head. Talk about competitive. Let's pray our cruises don't turn out like that haaaa
I've sailed this ship numerous times with a 2 dollar extension cord, bedside phone problem solved.
Thats a long extension cord to the bed haaaaa
@@downtovacay Maybe 5 feet from desk to night stand.
Thank for this review. I’m going in Dec also leaving from Brooklyn. Very excited
Ooooh December. Well.. the good thing about that is that you'll have that indoor pool. I'm sure it will be packed though. Def jump on that Thermal Spa package. For a long trip, that will be worth it. That ship is probably the best for winter cruising if you have kids because of the indoor gym. I'm sure you saw that lol Let us know how it goes afterwards.
Curious how was your experience I'm about to go this December for 7 days for my daughters birthday
Do you mind telling me if the buffet area food was salty?
I don't remember it being salty, but it depends on what you're eating. I don't think we had a time where our taste buds freaked out over saltiness lol The food was ok. That's pretty much it.
Booked for the Haven June of 26
Oooooh we so wanna know how that experience is. Like 2026 cant come soon enough lol
I enjoyed your video and the ratings. I’m scheduled to have my own experience in Nov 23, 2024 and this help me out a little on knowing how to enjoy and what to eat. Thanks a lot for creating this video. 😊😊
Hopefully your cruise is just as cool as ours. Starting to get cold up in the north, so any time we can get that sun, it's great for us. Glad you were able to find it useful. Mission accomplished lol
We're probably looking at a cabin like yours in January. We're "go with the flow", that comes with 30 years of following my Canadian military husband, including Germany. We're looking forward to the Aurea experience, too.
That Spa pass was well worth it on tis itinerary. Days at sea and peace. Especially on a rainy day. I hope you and the hubby have a really great experience. Let us know how the sailing was when you get back.
$99 for 3 different restaurants (Mexican,, sea food, and steak options)offering 3 courses each on a really affordable cruise per person is kind of a good deal. Ever since they came into the NY BK port we have sailed every year. (ok only 2 lol) but I will say my second time around I went Yacht Club and there's just something about that wristband. We had an amazing time. Food was great on all levels for us.
You mentioned Yacht Club. Was that where you ate mostly? Would you say that there's better food there or is it the same as normal cruise food? So curious about that.
We loved the cruise. The food was great and the ship was beautiful. Will be going back again.
Indeed!🤠
That's awesome. Glad it was great for ya. Would like to try World America. That looks like an amazing and more modern ship.
this cruise was great!!!! Everyone is really hard to please today, but not me! i made friends all around the world, it was a wonderful experience & everyone should see this ship & the crew
That's what it's about. For many it won't matter what cruise you're on. Ride the waves of life and enjoy the view. Too bad I (Gil) I'm not as social as I would like to be. Most people will def jump on this ship out of NYC, because it's cheaper than an NCL out of Manhattan, as well as Royal Caribbean out of Bayonne. But overall... eeeesh I don't know if it can hold up to them as well. MSC certainly has the ability to, but... these days everyone wants bang for the buck. What cabin did u get? Did u get the drink package as well? How was that?
@@downtovacay I was on the 12th floor. My cabin was the exact same as yours! & they gave me my drink package for $60! Only problem I had was someone got hurt & needed dropped off in South Carolina. So we didn’t get to see Nassau but we did catch the rocket launch!!
@@seanchristohper Aaaah man. We were so looking forward to the light show at their private island but we left a few hrs early. So crappy.
We are new to cruising with this being our second cruise and have to say we were so let down on this cruise. We had set our expectations high based on reviews. We will probably never cruise with MSC again. Don't get me wrong the ship itself was really nice. Some of the main hallway carpets were disgustingly filthy with what looked like massive stains. Vacuuming is one thing shampooing them to get them clean is another. While the food was decent it wasn't great. Nothing was ever HOT just luke warm. The best thing at the buffet was the fresh made mozzarella . Hola Taco and Cantina was awesome.. Another disappointing thing was that every single bar had basically the same exact menu which sucked. no real signature drinks per bar. Besides all that we had to miss one of our port days due to a medical emergency. Which i totally understand I do. but to not even try to make it right and basically told screw you is wrong. never again MSC
Besides missing the port, we get ya. Food was so so. Entertainment was so so. Activities and parties were the saving grace. Drink package wasn't that great. The reason they're all the same is because MSC wanted to speed up the process for their bars. Unfortunately that drink package wasn't worth the extra. If you're just looking to get away for a bit for some sun and island hopping for a little cheaper cost out of NYC then many would be ok with it. No frills so to speak.
Ferry is the way to get to the port!
Yes Wall Street ferry is the best way 👍👍
27:03 hit me up with that asian girls details
The fact that you made it that far warms out hearts
I give your review 2.5 palm trees.
Haaaa I concur. Rushed job. Something I don't like doing. I was too busy dealing with health issues. Dare I say C scare, but didn't want to keep losing time. But at least it's a 2.5 and not less
How much is the wifi package?
We got a package with Wifi-Meals-Drinks based on bumping up to the Aurea class. For a premium connection, most cruises charge over $150 for 7 days, plus extra for more devices. Sometimes getting a package like we did will make the costs much more inviting instead of buying a la carte. But be mindful. MSC has a different set up for their wifi where if you use 1 device, you're locked into that 1 device. Can't switch back and forth between devices.
@@downtovacay thanks!
I've cruised on the Meraviglia twice and booked the 3 restaurant dining package. You can choose your restaurants and meals, however, if you choose outside of the inclusions, you will just pay the difference in cost. I didn't book Hola taco since that was only $18pp all you can eat and not worth to use your restaurant credit. I booked the Butchers Cut, Ocean Cay and Teppanyaki - didn't love the Teppanyaki but the others were very good. They also do a brunch in one of the MDRs on the last day at sea and that was very good and did not have an additional cost. Hope this is helpful. 😊
What was your best meal on the Meraviglia?
Background music makes very difficult to hear what you are saying. Hope you could fix that
I would have to redo it. Yeah we were told. Glad we get honest feedback. It helps.
I like MSC! Thank you very much for sharing! Like 28
What did/do you like about it? What was your best?
You can get your own food in the galley if you want. My husband and I did so on both of our sailings. I will say, I would never go to the Test Kitchen hungry-lol. Third cruise already booked GenX here I enjoy your content. Much ❤ from The Garden State 🙂
Haaaaaa Def don't go to the Test Kitchen on an empty stomach. I'd like to go back on the VV cruise just to soak it in again without the work aspect. See if we made a mistake with it. Yeah u can get your own food, but not all like a buffet. The plus is that you don't have sneezing and coughing people touch stuff. They bring it to you. 3rd VV Cruise booked or in general? How was your experience? Much appreciated. Thanks for the love. Hopefully we're somewhat on point with our reviews. Forget our craziness
@@downtovacay I think VV is not for a traditional type of cruiser. My husband and I binged a few of your videos yesterday. We kept liking snd saying support, they are Nyer’s ☺️. I would like to try Celebrity and MSC
@@ms.d4220 Haaaaaa we are Def NY'ers. I think we are spoiled cruisers. May husband is a NYer and I am a newly one, formerly... a uh NJ'er? LOL Appreciate the support. We've certainly opted to live life as much as we can and share our travels and extras. We're lagging behind, but we have some more stuff from the Icon of the Seas. NCL Breakaway+ class ships. 1st Mediterranean cruise out of Greece. We're flying to Germany to watch our beloved Giants. They owe US money.
@@downtovacay we saw the Icon of the seas hit and misses. We didn’t like so many people and we like quiet zones with a some turn up. My husband and I are Nyers born and raised but left many years ago for NJ. Our kids are born and bread NJ people. They are grown now and they only know NYC really well from us 😆
@@ms.d4220 Def hard to find a true quiet space without kids and club music. If we pay over $5k for a balcony, that would be the only place to get true peace. Now that your kiddos are grown, you can be freeeeeeeee I left Kearney, NJ back in 2013 for the hustle and bustle. Boy do we wish we'd be in a quieter city haaaa
How was the gym?
Gym was reasonable. I'm such a schmuck. I forgot to add the video of it. It is a decent modern gym with plenty of treadmills and machines. It's pretty cool. It does the job.
Dag yo.
Thats what we said haaaaaa
I've looked at a cruise here and so far . . i would just take the ferry- there's one that drops at red hook. of course i'm leaving my car in Jersey and taking a ferry over anyway.
Aaaah yeah thats a possibility. I (Gil) have IBS so when it comes to leaving from a port I wanna be as close as possible without any delays. There's not a parking garage anywhere close to the Brooklyn port either. Just the Port Parking. So they make mucho dinero out there.
Took the ferry from wall street station, it was awesome!
im getting on there sunday, thank you for the video!! this was a lot of help
Much appreciated. Hopefully the cruise is pretty good for ya. Be prepared for a "White Party" where everyone is dressed to party. Also check out the Indoor Pool Bar where the Pińa Colada was the best spot. Let us know how it was when you get back.
@@downtovacay will do! & thank you for the info, I’ll pop back in the comments or on another one of your videos to let you know
Yes, Kyndall Fire was Awesome!! She would say “OK, Bye” all the time! She was very entertaining and enthusiastic!! 💖
Just got back from Joy. Staff was great. Ship was nice but I prefer smaller ships. Tepanyaki was great and buffet was good. The regular dining, Savor and taste were meh. Bread was cold and almost stale. Food was never hot, just lukewarm. Fish dishes were very small portions and I couldn’t tell one fish from another.
Thats cool. What kind of ship size? Like a NCL Dawn or Gem? Those are smaller. More intimate. Have you tried the Prima or Viva yet? We eat dinners at the specialty restaurants mostly because we're Platinum. So we get 2 dinners from reserving a balcony and then we get 2 additional because we're Platinum. So there goes 4 nights out 6/7 that we're able to. I'd prefer Specialty over complimentary all day. Wish the complimentary was better for ya though. We're going on the Bliss in April for an Alaskan cruise. Cant wait for that one.
The cabin looks quite sufficient to me - but everyone has different standards
It's all the same. The only things we were truly bothered by was the lack of ports for our devices and the bathroom. Tis true not everything is going to be great for all. It did it its job haaaaa I think it's because we've cruised so many times and we start comparing. I (Gil) try not to think about other cruises while doing this because I don't want to taint it.
@@downtovacay Last week was my first cruise so everything was wonderful - even if it probably wasn’t. They canceled 2 ports. I got Norovirus, but it was my first cruise and it was wonderful. Going on the Meraviglia this coming Sunday.
@@grayblanchard Noooo waaaay. You got Norovirus? The fact that you contracted it and not afraid to go on another is amazing. I would have been terrified. What was your first cruise? We are working on getting a full review of the Meraviglia out by the end of the evening. We have so much content but had a few issues pop up over the summer. If you wanna know the scoop, let us know. Or you can wait til the video is put up. Hope you're better.
Thank you for all your helpful remarks but the way you use the camera 📷 is very stressful
Aaaaah which parts? Always good to know how we flow. Looking to perfect it.
We had the exact same room last month except opposite way and deck 9 with balcony
How was it for you?
@@downtovacay We enjoyed our cruise as the only other one was P & O (we are from Australia, and it was hot and loved the touched of cold water and wet face washer when arriving at the ship after a day out we loved being deck 9 as it was quite close to everything although the atrium looks good it doesnt work and found the wardrobes not long enough in the bedroom the bathroom was great as hubby is over 6 ft and he fit well in the shower
@@bronwenmcinnes4768 Def a lil more spacious than other cabins on other ships. NCL was cabins slightly roomier with better furniture to make it feel roomier. If we could have a Prima/Viva cabin on all the cruises we go on that would PERFECT haaaa
Great video. Thanks. I’m really considering taking this ship but the other itinerary. Not having a basketball court may pose a problem. I have all sons and they love basketball. I did a European cruise this year with NCL and it was great. Our first Ncl cruise. I want to do this ship soon and Alaska. I had the 9 day spa package for my other cruise and I went every day except the first night. Even with our busy itinerary, I came back every day and used the spa. Much needed after walking through either Spain, France and Italy daily.
Glad you were able to find helpful stuff from our review. I would say that not having a basketball court really made me sad because I play. I like being able to shoot around and play in competitions. BUT if you're a youngin', theres still some stuff you can do. The Stadium was a hot a spot for the kids. If they're old enough, theres still the Entourage. That's where the kids really have their fun. The Viva/Prima could probably slide without a court, but it depends on whether thats a make or break. We feel the Viva/Prima are more for great food, solid musicals, bars and a luxurious vibe. Where as a Carnival Mardi Gras is ok food, a lot of entertainment, sports court for slightly less. Then there's the Icon of the Seas where you can take 2 Mardi Gras cruises for the price of 1 Icon cruise. Solid food. Solid Entertainment. A lot of Activities. Sports court. But just sooooo expensive. All depends on you : )
I have two grandchildren 6 and 8 do you think they would enjoy it
Most definitely. With Waterworks, Camp Ocean, Shaq's Big Chicken and Guy's Burger Joint, what kid wouldn't love those? : ) The good thing is that your grandchildren can be put together if you're sailing while they're 6 & 8. They will be put together in the "Stingrays" group. There are so many activities for them on the Mardi Gras. And if the parents, as well as you, want to have a little peaceful time you're able to do that as well. AND IT'S FREEEEE They have a lot of activities for the kids. We have a soon to be 2 yr old grandson, so we'll see how it goes in a few years.
Well done! Picked up a few pointers. I missed the chicken info test was a bit disappointing. I am thinking about priority access but reading it may not be a good buy. Have booked VIVA and same type cub balcony stateroom Any thoughts? Have cruised s bunch so not a novice. I enjoyed your vid and gave it LIKE. Hope to get a response.
Glad you were able to find some helpful things. That's our goal. You booked the VIVA? Hopefully you'll be able to see Beetlejuice. We didn't get that chance. It's def a relaxed and smooth ship. So many spots for sun. Food is solid. When are you cruising? Have you tried any of the Breakaway+ Class ships?
@@downtovacay Viva booked: March. 2 Med. Cruised on EPIC( not a fav ship). Is priority access a good buy?
@@ThePardu Aaaah ok. So you have it coming up in 2025. Have yet to cruise on the Epic. We pretty much cruised on all of the Breakaway & Breakaway + Class ships. Is Priority Access good? It really depends on a few things. The itinerary, your use of room service and check in. If your Itinerary has ports that are tendered and you'd like to be the 1st ones off, then maybe. If you're a room service type of cruiser in the mornings you'd get continental breakfasts. Nothing extravagant. It'll still cost ya. Sometimes ports have check ins where it doesn't even matter what level you are unless you're Haven. We're Platinum and in San Juan, we jumped in the same line as everyone else. At that time though. Not sure if they changed it. Same for Debarkation. Doesn't even matter. You'll get free canapés : ) Is it worth it? I lean towards no, for the most part. I remember when Carnival offered it for $50. No mas. Now they add things that no one really cares about. We want to sail on the Aqua next year.
Ok tks. EPIC isn’t a great ship. I cruises twice i the ship based on Itinerary. As far as Priority Access … passing on it. I am re-watching your vid. Thanks Much. Will Keep watching the vids. Ansy
Rookie mistake, hard left and hard right on your voices......... a little in from the left and right is BETTER!
Funny thing is we had many videos before this one using our Rode Caster mics. I tried using the wireless Go with 2 mics and found it was separating and didn't know how to make it one audio track. Talk about Rookie
We had the same experience at check in, finally found someone who actually knew where to send us for priority check in. Enjoyed watching your video, and can’t wait to explore her myself.
Aaawe thank you. Glad you got some good info from us. Hopefully you liked the Viva. We would definitely love to try the Aqua. I think more for the relaxation and less feeling of work lol Hopefully you get to see BeetleJuice. Come back and let us know how you like Viva.
I have not done a cruise on Carnival ship yet so I can’t answer that question but I do think it looks like a lot of fun.
I hope you're able to get a chance to jump on board the ship. Entertainment every day and night. You'll have a blast. Keep traveling. Ride the waves of life and never stop enjoying the view.
Nonstop fun....So many activities throughout the day and night....Definitely worthwhile!
@@souperflyone6362 Def looking forward to Carnival’s new massive ship line up to compete with Icon of the Seas. If they can only up their food game. Lights out.
interesting . Down! 🖐
Life is crazy, man. Ride the waves of life and enjoy the view.
We like NCL Joy very much , the layout is good for my husband in the wheelchair ♿️, crew was the best . Shows , food very good . Going back on Joy soon .
The Joy is def a well balanced ship. We always liked the Atrium style for entertainment and O'Sheehans/Local setup. The Breakaway class ships are well rounded, that's why we like cruising on them. Food seems to be really good on all of the newer NCL ships. Have you tried the Getaway or any other Breakaway ship?
I love these videos ❤️
Aaaawe much appreciated. We're so behind though : (
4.5 Palm trees. 🎉
If the food was better... : )
You’re so right about the small venue. I was on the Prima love the food and Entertainment. Did not go to Syd Norman not waiting on line for over a hour. They had seating by the Starbucks. I don’t even remember the Atrium.
NCL broke my heart, man. I'd like to go on another Prima or Viva cruise again and just sail as a regular Joe. No recording. No worrying about content. Just ride the waves and see where it takes me. I think it's for those who love food and entertainment. Great bars. Luxury. Get pampered. Then I'll see if it's really worth it as an older person who's starting to wind down. It's cuttin' close : )
I'll be on her from Rome to Miami 16 nights! this November! I hope there will be things to do. thanks for posting this video!
Whoooaah that's a long trip. Def come back and share your experience for that itinerary. Hope it's super awesome. I hope there will be a lot to do as well. I don't want to be a Debbie downer
Wow. You guys are a complete failure of the U.S. education system. You blamed NCL because both sides of the ship don’t face the port when docked? Name one ship ever built, in the history of the world, where both sides of the ship face the same direction.
I have no idea what you're talking about. I (Gil) don't mind if someone points out something that may not be right or we missed. I welcome that, because it helps us as well as the viewers get the best info possible. For people like you though... I don't tolerate the idiocy. I don't know if you're just a miserable person, but to be a keyboard pirate is something that separates us. Maybe you took something we said mistakenly? I have no clue because you never explained yourself. Very unfortunate. You're the 2nd person out of the many responses to say something insulting. I guess those are good odds. Happy sailing, dude.
Check 10:10 where we clearly say that depending on how the ship is docked, you can go to Ocean Boulevard because it's the only ship that wraps around with a view. Just revisited your comment and decided to watch the entire video.
@markolwick2223 --- ASSWIPE!
We just returned from a 7 day cruise on a MSC Meraviglia ship. They didn't do a very good job with cleaning up our cabin from the previous occupants. Also, our neighbors were loud young people also smoking something. However, we enjoyed the ship overall. The restaurants, the entertainment and service were excellent. It's unfortunate that we had to encounter a not so clean cabin as well as noise and smoking from our neighbors.
Ooooh believe you me we felt the same. If you're looking to just relax and chill without eating some exquisite food at a reasonable price, then this is the ship. That's our take on it. I give it a 2.5 Palm Trees. We just got back from Paris last night so I am def behind on the videos/reviews for the Meraviglia. Thanks for the comment though. Much appreciated.
Excel class ships are the best. I have been on the Celebration and Mardi Gras and loved both. The Excel class ships give a totally different experience than any other Carnival ship. Its Carnival times 20. SO i know its hard when you are a NCL fan or Royal cruise to give Carnival any credict for this Class of ship but the Excel class is special.
I think that having Kyndall Fire as our Cruise Director was the icing on the cake. The new style of having the atrium shows PLUS the theater is a cool thing. Pretty good setup. As for the NCL Breakaway Class & Breakaway Class Plus, they are def more well rounded. Plus the food is def a tad better than Carnival. As I get older, I may still swing back to that NCL ship : ) But the ICON... that's another story. Icon of the Seas is top notch when it comes to the food, entertainment and activities. Then again you'd have to donate an organ for a week.
You can get doubles if you don't have the beverage package. That is one of the reasons we don't get the package.
I think that IF we don't drink much, then all good. How can we not drink much on the Mardi Gras though? The different types of bars/drinks is something that the Excel class ships are tops on. It would be more expensive if we don't get the drink package. We had. the Cheers package, so it came out to about $150 per person. On Norwegian, it's the same deal. $150 per person BUT you can get 2 drinks at once or make it a double. All depends on how you roll, I think. Sometimes Carnival doesn't even give a cheers package that's part of a deal. You'd have to be lucky with getting one. I tried recently.
@@downtovacay I agree! It defiantly can be more expensive. We make the decision on the Cheers package based on how many sea days, how long we plan on being off the boat, and excursions. We are taking a 7 day in September and have opted not to get Cheers. I think we may regret it. But we will see! Happy cruising!
@@jamieallen4011 You may regret it Haaaaa All depends on how much you want to drink. You're going to see all of the different type of bars and go "Oooooh I wanna try this Abra Cadabra at the Fortune Teller." Then that $13 a drink catches up to ya and before you know it you've spent more than $50 in the hour haaaa Oh please stop by and let us know how that cruise goes and what you spent : ) We opted out of the drink package for our upcoming NCL Getaway cruise in Greece.
Hey, my family and I are planning on going on this ship in Sept or Nov. We are so excited
We're always excited to see people take some much needed vacation time. Hopefully you've been able to kinda see what you get. The earlier the better. I'm sure you're excited. What's cool is going on the cruise line app and just seeing what awaits.
@downtovacay Thank you. I enjoyed the video
@@ericajohnson7121 Much appreciated. Was it in line of how you like review videos or just travel videos to be? We try to keep it more loose than scripted. Still working on finely tuning : )
Love this 😊 im going on the mardi gras cruise in November first time cruise 🛳 😎 here i come
Ooooh wow first time cruising? You're gonna be in for a sailing. Some people prefer smaller ships because of feeling overwhelmed. Hopefully you'll be super chill and go all out. If there's anything you're curious about and want some info, don't hesitate to give us a shout.
@downtovacay yeah 7 day cruise 🛳 😎. And thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing more of you guys 😃
Also, going Thanksgiving week.
@@TheLifeOfTiff94 We've been so busy and I've been behind on my videos. No bueno : ( We actually went to Paris for the olympics this past week and now in Greece for Mediterranean cruise on the NCL Getaway tomorrow. I will try and do some editing this week on the cruise. Hope all is well on ur end. Your Nov cruise can't come soon enough.
@@mikebryan4728 Ooooh Thanksgiving week? I have wanted to do a holiday cruise like Xmas and/or Thanksgiving to see how the atmosphere is. We've done a new year cruise back in 2019/20 and it was sooooo cool ringing in the new year. Def an experience. Def let us know how that cruise turns out. #downtovacay
They have announced that the slide coaster is included
Oooooh that is def a smart move. I def would have been super bothered with them charging us.
