I’ve never seen a g85 for less than 250 and it’s usually closer to 350/400 right now. I got this g7 for $150 which is less than half of that. So, we gotta give it credit as at least somewhat competitive. Plus it’s significantly lighter than the g85 so maybe it has its own utility, because of that difference? Idk. I DEFINITELY wanna get my hand on a g85!!

Ah I have seriously slept on a few deals for a g85! What an incredible deal. I need a lil pancake lens for this guy! I’ve only really got tiny lenses and then the like pocket dispo type pancake lenses. Maybe that will be one of my next purchases. I agree!! Lumix is has so many rad cameras and I would be happy with any camera made after the g7.

Hello! I filmed in Cinelike D, I work in DaVinci resolve, and actually built a node tree based off of a fellow creator by the name of Jake Hayden. I basically edited it in rec709 color space and use davinci’s film emulation. Added a nice lil S curve and some vignette and grain for texture. I SHOULD have compensated for skin tones but was clearly too excited to get this video out 😂 Ah I should have used the flash when I had a gh4 😭 I don’t remember using it ever hahaha

@@DigicamRevival Thanks for the answer! i know the flash on the gh4 specifically because mine never worked properly 😅 anyway nice grading, I like the golden/vintagy quality of your work! If I recall correctly, Panasonic kit lenses are very good, the 12-60 kit lens of the gh4 is sooooo good (abeit abit slow) still use it today!

I agree. I’m referring to the concept of a disposable point and shoot film camera with a fixed focal length and aperture. Such as the type of camera that this lens was from. Like, the kind that does take “shitty photos” by the standards you are referring to. Some people, such as myself, appreciate the nostalgic vibes that those not-so-perfect images provide. So, this is my “cure all” for that. Thanks anyway and I hope that you have a blessed life full of joy and freedom in your creative endeavors 🙏

Oooo I agree! I definitely dropped the ball in not mentioning that I was deliberately trying to replace the concept of a disposable point and shoot film camera, which is why I chose that lens. Def might make a video showing the benefits of a pocketable quality prime pancake lens though!

Okay, I've figured it out myself that's NEX-5R, correct? I just randomly found pocket dispo on instagram the other day and it was quite appealing but I wasn't sure which compact camera I should go with it and now you gave me the answer!

@@lazyturtlezooooo this is actually the Sony NEX 5N BUT the 5R is better, so if you can snag that for a reasonable price, that’s awesome! I would love to see the results. Maybe make your way over to my subreddit I linked in the description, to share what you capture!

Hey i appreciate it. I like to shoot in s-log 2 usually, but I actually shot all of these in standard (no picture profile) then, in Dehancer, just chose to base it off of rec.709. I do plan to make a video around the process soon!

If you can’t get it to take pictures or film with the pocket dispo on, you probably need to go into the settings and turn on the “release shutter without lens” setting. Being as there is no connections to the mount, in the lens, your camera probably thinks there isn’t a lens connected! Google how to find the “release shutter without lens” for your camera and it should give you steps! Hope this helps!

Hey boss! Google or TH-cam search “how to release shutter without lens attached on canon r10” it should be a simple toggle in the menu somewhere! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU 🙏

You may have to find a setting in your menus along the lines of “release, shutter without lens attached“ being that it doesn’t have any contact points, it’s not making any communication with the camera. So it’s likely that your camera isn’t recognizing it as having a lens attached. What camera are you using? I’ll help you figure it out if I need to!

It’s at a fixed focal range, like the old disposal cams. So everything from 1.5 meters to infinity is in focus!
