Seeing comments from Gen Z talking about how they wish they group up during this era makes me even more proud to have been apart of this era. I was a Deathcore/Emo OG, my middle school and high school years were 2007-2014 and i badly miss these days. Miss all the local shows, the house shows, Myspace, Top 10 Breakdown videos, downloading music off blogspots, straightening my hair etc. I still have all my old band tees from this era and a few CDs. Used to have my entire library of music on my Zune which I still have. Now I just have all my music on a Micro SD which is on my phone. I am 28 now, have an office job and have been married going on 4 years. I havent had long hair since 2013, lots of things have changed but the one constant is this was never a phase. I still go to plenty of shows when my responsibilities allow it, still blast plenty of deathcore, emo, post-hardcore, Metalcore, djent etc. If you're apart of Gen Z, the one word of advice I will give you is please make sure you document as much of your youth as possible, moments with friends that dont seem special will be special 10 year's from now when you're older. Treasure ever moment of your youth, don't be in a rush to grow up, responsibilities will come and make you regret ever wanting to grow up fast.

Now that think about this was pretty cool even though I wasn’t Emo I was more 90s grunge than a 2000s kid I was born 1990 if any of you were wondering. What I find cool now. Is that I saw a subculture in the 2000s. Back 60s the hippies 70s punk rockers 80s hip hop and glam scene 90s Seattle grunge. It’s cool that saw this Now Emo has faded out for now but it might make a comeback soon.

God I wish this was still a thing nowadays ;-;
