Thank you for the awesome review. I totaly loved this one shot and I am super happy about something you said which mirrors how I felt reading this comic. It made me feel like a kid again.

I was reading that comic book at magazine stand in a gas station in Banff Alberta back in 1982 and my high school friend who was with me saw me reading it and ask me if I was going to buy it and I said nah so he grabbed the magazine and bought it. The magazine comic book came out before the movie did and we were surprised when the movie came out because we already had the comic book weeks before they even advertised the movie.

Is this a complete story in one book, or will it be part of a series ?

Really enjoy your review! 😊 Empowered is my absolute favorite story, and I had the privilege of telling this to Adam Warren personally during a comics show back in '19. He signed my copy of Internal Medicine... along with every other single-issue special he published. 😅

They took all the sex appeal out of this series. Sara has a manly jawline and and the face of a bulldog and she has pecs that somehow become boobs when she's transformed.

Read all 4 books so far…really like the build up. Ralph was raw, Mikey was silly but still good, Leo defensively dropped some knowledge and Donnie was frail as hell but had the heart of a warrior. Can’t wait for the next issue.

So glad you guys like Rob Liefelds art, so many people try and trash his art ! Rob draws some of my favorite issues and covers!! He exaggerates muscles and outfits, like the "wings" on Wolverines mask are wide along with the points on the boots and shoulder pads, Loved this comic, remember reading it in the 90s

I didn't like the art of Jim Aparo in this one. Specially if it followed that iconic cover by Kelley Jones. It did not flow well, the anatomy looked like it was drawn using toys, really stiff. Some say it was Aparo's age? I don't know. In Detective Comics 664 the art was great.

Id like it better if it wasnt tied to continuity. But for right now, its great. Cause it's focussed on story. But it will be connected with stupid events to the main universe. Ill enjoy it until then. I'd pay extra for any comic book that promised to be self contained and not be connected to any event. Everything by Waid/Mora is great....except Absolute Power. Ugh! What a boring mess of bs.

So stoked Just ordered Vol 1, 2 3 in hard cover. The movie as a kid was so epic

….I think the closest anyone got to capturing the true gratuitous horror and comparative prurient shock value of the E.C. Comics was the early 80’s Pacific Comics run of ‘Twisted Tales’ by Bruce Jones, amongst others. It managed a not so subtle evolution of what Gaines had seeded - turned up to 11! Hell - they even had William F. Nolan pen a story! Anyone else with me on this?

The ads in the comic are really annoying. Is it possible to just tear them out? It’s just really distracting.

usagi is one of the first books I read. as a japanese american kid my grandparents took me to comic book stores to get the new issue whenever they dropped. I have a few signed books by Stan from meeting him at japanese cultural days and festivals. one of the only comics that I come back to and have a heavy level of nostalgia for.

I don't know much about Witchblade as a character, but I take it she's to a Anti Hero as opposed a by the book one, she once took a Pedophile to place with the intent of getting him killed by a creature, when she could have just as easily forced him under the threat of death or seriously hurting him to turn himself into the Police and confess to his crimes. While she may not have killed the pedo herself, I fail to see how intentionally getting some killed by someone or something else makes you any less guilty then if you yourself killed him.

That dredd batman cross looks like the gothic art style legends of the dark night had. Coincidence? Also id cut that Mask thing out and scare the wife for bxx over your comics.

This was such a let down. In fact it's an insult to the classic EC horror of yesteryear. It's a sad state of affairs in modern comics nowadays.

Excellent debut issue capullo and hickman were like lets do the balliest violent wolverine story imaginable and thry pulled it off especially the way deadpool is portrayed here this is the remender deadpool the bunn deadpool less jokes more sinister

I couldn't have been more disappointed in this release. It's almost like the writers and artists had never read a real EC Comic. The art lacked, the writing lacked, the politics was distracting, even the 'twist endings' failed to impress. I think the only thing I didn't completely hate was the cover that I got. But everything else was really lacking in the EC tradition.

Awesome video!!!! Although Crockett and Tubbs was from Miami Vice I believe, not Lethal Weapon. But hey, in that era of the buddy cop genre, it was all interchangeable. Keep up the great work!!
