Moto Camping Plateau Beech, Werrikimbe NP, awesome campsite, DR650
I travelled to Werrikimbe NP visiting a couple of campgrounds, had a great camp under shelter although my trip was cut short by the rain. Great scenery, hope you enjoy.

Nice ride to the New England area and after being unable to access my first two options I wound up at a great campsite on the Styx River

My first video, audio isn't great but I'm working on that.
Where did you get the windshield?
Home made mate. Used a heat gun to shape it. 👍
Thanks mate, been really busy, but will be doing one shortly. 👍
Cool tunes. I spent ages trying to find Hyatt's Flat on Google then get to the end of the video and saw that it doesn't show up on most maps😂😂. I'll have a look on Osmand.
Shows up on Gaia maps mate.
@@dr650life4 Not making anymore videos mate?. They're an entertaining watch👍.
Nice👍. What time of the year was this mate?. I'm heading up there on my way up north and returning in May. I'm just wondering what the temps will be like?. I'll be coming in from Forbes, Hastings Forest RD end then turning right onto Coachwood then Warbro to Armidale Rd. Do you know if this all easily doable on a loaded DR650?. Cheers.
Love that footage from the side when riding
Thanks mate, happy with the result.
Great ride. Thanks for all your effort showing us.
Thanks mate, was a great ride.
hey mate got a husky now keen to go some where let me know if you go somewhere local
Hey mate, cracking video. Quick question, do you carry a cooler bag to keep your food in?
Thanks Daniel, yeah i do carry a cheap cooler bag with a frozen water bottle in it. I'm looking at upgrading to something like a Mule cooler bag as the weather warms up. thanks for watching mate.
Wish I had watched this before I went up there on Saturday I went through those creek crossings on my 990 fully loaded and your right they looked like they were about half a foot deep but a lot deeper than they looked when the water hit my Pannier’s pulled me up like a big hand break 😂 Cheers thanks for sharing great watching
Thanks mate, yeah the depth is always a bit deceptive in those super clear creeks, not the first time I’ve nearly been caught out. Did you camp up somewhere up there? Appreciate you watching. Cheers Mick
I was all packed for camping however with the rain on Friday I stayed in Walhca and on Saturday there were people everywhere in the bush four wheel drives motorcycles bush walkers campers so got out of there and went home Next time I’ll go mid week
@@garywain7261 yeah I almost always go mid week, rarely see anyone on the trails.
Nice work mate. You did well with the water crossing. Good to see that the weather didn't stop you from getting out there. 🙂
Thanks mate appreciated and thanks for the sub. I was watching a vid the other day that I enjoyed and you were in it so will return the favour.
I've enjoyed this vid! Thumbs up and Subscribed 🙂
Thanks mate👍👍
Those rocks at the 9minute mark are really scary to me as I got short legs too (29inch inseam im 5'5 65kg) also a dr650 owner (its 3months old) still on the stock seat and im on the very tips of my tiptoes only lols. Love your videos keep them coming :)
Thanks mate, being short sucks at times. DR is the most fun bike I’ve ever owned, I’ve lowered mine a little bit. I run the stock height sergeant seat and it’s a game changer for comfort. Am doing a vid on my bike very soon. Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated 👍
@@dr650life4 a video on your bike would be great :) Im still doing mine up slowly but love the dr650 sofar as well th-cam.com/video/S1dcUm125U4/w-d-xo.html
@@prawns yeah looks good mate, the rigg bags are good for the money.
Yeah i bought the pannier racks as crash protection but then thought i may as well actually get pannier bags as well hahahha
Hey great video 😊 I’m yet to do this ride, have been out to Mary’s View Could you do a video on the mods on your bike? I have a 2021 white DR650 🏍️
Thanks mate, you’ll love the ride.actually did a vid on my bike while I was away but wasn’t happy with the quality so am going to do another one very soon. Are you loving the DR? Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated.
@@dr650life4 awesome 😎 , you have yours very well kitted out, yeah loving my DR 👌 seen heaps of new places on it
G'day mate, awesome vid.. being an old fart on a Vstrom 650, this is just the sort of stuff I like doing.... nothing too hard core, just mooching around National parks and forest trails doing a bit of camping. Luckily, living in the Clarence valley, N.S.W, I am surrounded by them and somewhat spoilt for choice. Thanks for allowing us to travel with you...... Cheers,,,, J.B....
Thanks John, I had a Vstrom before the DR but wanted something a little lighter. We do live in a great part of the world, you’re only up the road from me and I am also spoilt. Great to have you along for the ride.👍
Famous last words, doesn’t look to deep 😂
You think I’d learn. 🙄
Pity about the weather, but great loop ride and camp spot mate 😎👍 I'm yet to do that loop, but it's on the list- with an over night camp thrown in. Cheers for the up-load 👍
Thanks mate, it is a great spot, you’d love it.
Great to see you out living large.
Cheers mate
Good to see you have some form of emergency communication while out riding alone in this wonderfull land we live in.
Better safe than sorry👍
New sub ! Liked 😉🙌😆🐸😊😍
Thankyou👍👍
That’s really nice riding through there I camped in the same spot u did lol cheers thanks for sharing
Thanks mate it’s a great spot.
I’m going to camp at Brushy mountain camp site next time I’m up there I had a quick look there pretty nice spot Cheers
@@garywain7261 yeah it is good. Check out beech plateau as well it’s close to Brushy. I stayed there last year.
Great video ride safe
Cheers mate you too
Thanks for taking us along for the ride, will check out Hyatt's Flat next time up there, bummer about the audio 👍👍
Thanks mate, it’s a good spot.
Just came across your channel great video buddy ride safe
Thanks mate. Hoping to get out again next week, weather permitting
Good riding up there gives the vstrom a good go up those tracks. Brushy mountain a good spot to.
Brushy is good, also beech plateau. I’ve had my Vstrom up there also but prefer the Dr these days. Thanks for watching 👍
Nicely edited, looks cold 👍
Thanks mate.
Cool. I'll have to ride out there for a look 😎👍
Thanks Phil. Hoping to do an overnight trip up there soon.
