A lot of my top films were low on your list but it's fair because I think it is just a matter of preference (Lisa Frankenstein, I Saw The TV Glow, Cuckoo, etc) but I still need to watch Look Back! I'm excited to cry... I also want to check out Kinds of Kindness and Thelma.

The longer this went without mentioning Joker 2 the more nervous I got, haha! But I'm loving all these recommendations, thank you!

Finally finished this! I definitely want to check out some movies after watching this. I think I only watched like 10ish movies this year, but my favorite was probably Mars Express (although I think it released in France in 2023 and it only had its US debut in 2024, so idk how that counts).

This was great, I often want to watch more movies but I don’t know where to start or look, so I love hearing the opinions of others especially the people I admire creatively. Also just hearing the name of your number one pick made me flash back thru the whole experience of watching it myself and I started bawling. God. What a good movie.

Thanks as always for all the interesting recommendations and retrospectives! I always enjoy hearing what you have to say about all the things you saw this year. And to think that these were ALL 2024 films! So much stuff to watch and so little time! I definitely agree with you in terms of the best movie of the year. I won't go into the specifics of what led up to this, but I finally burnt out this year. I lost the will to create. And it's been an uphill battle trying to gain that back. I don't know if or when it'll ever happen, but Look Back helped me remember what I always want to strive for and what I always want my main motivational drive to come from. It was absolutely breathtaking and I'll always be grateful to it for that. Here's to all the new and exciting stories that'll be created and shared in 2025!

Haven't heard of Look Back, but as soon as Jay mentioned it's about aspiring manga writers it makes complete sense why it's number 1. As an artist myself it sounds like something I might want to check out

I've watched like 10 movies this year and I thought that was a lot -and most of them were old. I watched When Marnie Was There this year, loved it. Probably top 5 Ghibli for me.

I have seen only 5 out of this list: Ultraman Rising, SpyxFamily Code White, Wicked Part 1, Inside Out 2, and Deadpool and Wolverine. To watch 75 movies in a year, you are a dedicated cinephile, even if some of the movies weren't great this year. Cheers to the new year and to creativity despite what goes on in the world.

lol @ 9:10 thats why I honestly stopped leaving cards out on my displays. I have a LARGE accessible QR code (decorated with my OC as an eye catch) that leads to my link tree somewhere on my display and I will direct folks to that in favor of a physical card. After a few years of vending and trying out both options, I can say I actually get FAR more follows/click throughs on my socials via the QR code than with cards. Like a 40% conversion rate increase. I do still have cards for things like giving them out to other artists/vendors, adding them to bags for my orders but now I go through SIGNIFICATLY less with a greater return.

Also I am so sorry for the people who are disrespectful. Hope for more positive interactions than not

Watching you table gave me the motivation to table at my first event recently (a local farmer's market)! Your vlogs really helped me prepare for it (and now future events at actual cons ☺️), so thank you! And yes, I love TCAF, it's hands down my favourite show! I've only ever gone as an attendee but all the artists I ever talk to there always gush about how much more attention their original work gets there compared to their fanart. I grabbed a Munji shirt from your little tokyo table a while back and people always ask where it’s from - hopefully it gave you a little more exposure!

I keep all the business cards i get from cons in a little bag, and i write in pen on them a couple words to remind me what i liked. So if i feel like treating myself or need a gift i can flip through the cards whenever. Also, i really want that ahe-cow shirt!

So now I know that if I ever see SungWon at a con, I should only ask him about you and Steve 😂 Hope you get into a NYC con soon!
