    Everything you said in this is very true. I just got my licence in Feb this year after a long and difficult journey through the Skillsbootcamp. It took a bit, but i just got my first job through an agency. Super happy. It's very hard work, though, requiring 50/50 manual labour and driving. The industry does look very saturated now for drivers but im still glad I got the licence. One of my hardest challenges

      Thank you for your comment Douglas. In the video I say to always take extra two minutes because of the reason you've stated. The law says 15, 30, 45.

    Your video is great and clear. Just check it. I start at 7am till 7pm. 7am to 1pm - 15min, 1pm to 4pm - 30 min, and what about the 4pm to 6pm 15min?

      Hi. Thank you :) Yes, that's correct.. If you don't drive 4,5 hours in a day. If you do drive for 4,5 hours you can take 15 minutes then second break 30 minutes ( that will cover your driving hours as well) then another 15 minutes and you're covered.

    I would recommend getting a C+E license. I don’t drive for a living I just do it for extra pocket money through an agency. I’ve driven the last two Fridays and got £180 and £170. I did about 12 hours work total with less than 7 hours of that actually driving and I’ve earned £350! If you have the opportunity to do it then do it.

    Thanks for the best video, just to clarify: If I work 8 hours a day (starting at 00:00) should I take one 30 min break at 5:59 or 5:45? And if I work 11hrs a day, will one 45 min brake starting at 5:59 or 5:45 cover WTD? Thanks

    • @hgvrulestheeasyway899
      @hgvrulestheeasyway899 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Darius. You need to take 15 minutes break BEFORE you hit 6 hours of work then another 15 minutes if you go OVER 6 hours. If you take a 30 minutes break at exactly 05:45 that would cover your wtd but bear in mind it's most likely not going to happen. I would take 15 minutes before 6 hours ( any time between 5am and 6 am) and then another 15 minutes before hitting the 8 hours work so before 8am. If you work 11 hours a day you'll need to take another 15 minutes when you go OVER 9 hours of work. Taking 45minutes break in one go won't cover your WTD. It would cover only your driving hours.

    • @hgvrulestheeasyway899
      @hgvrulestheeasyway899 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Driving hours and WTD that's two different things. If you take 45 minutes break before your 6 hours work it will cover only your driving hours. Your working time directive won't increase. For working time directive you still need to take your breaks as in the video. That's why the best way of doing it is taking 15 minutes break and then 30 minutes break

    I'm not entirely certain, but I believe one reason many companies refrain from accepting new drivers is due to the higher insurance premiums involved. Consequently, some companies prefer candidates who have held their licences for at least 12 months.

    • @RunninWithScissors
      @RunninWithScissors 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's down to the insurers, most big companies "self insure" so don't have an insurance company dictating things like how much experience a driver has. Smaller companies can't afford to self insure so are stuck with these insurance companies.

The job isn’t starting until the end of April and they are setting up a week of training for me at a reduced wage to get me on the right track. Obv I’m grateful but I tried my hand at every agency known to man in the between time because I’m excited to get out in the truck but no one will touch me with a barge pole due to my inexperience.

    you never see the bus industry saying they need experience to get a job on the buses..... ok maybe 6 months driving a car.. what I'm saying is in the bus industry, if you have a pcv/psv licence you are most likely get a job, and with a hgv licence, you don't... this is why you see more and more young bus drivers! say you passed car test at 17, dunno what to do after school, after 6 months car driving experience, bus companies are happy to train you up and get you in the driver seat! and driving buses is much harder than lorries.. and some buses are much longer than class 2 lorries! you don't often see 18 year old driving lorries, my local first bus depot just passed 2 new drivers, an 18 and a 19 year old! what does that tell ya, the hgv industry has the mentality of so what if you have a licence, no experience no job.... you can't blame the ''shortage'' on brexit, blame the companies and their mindsets. you have shitload of new hgv licence holders waiting YEARS for their first runs.

      Assuming that after your initial 6hr working and driving time reset, your new driving and other work gives you a grand total time of 5hr45- the fact that you're 30 mins away from the depot is irrespecyive- you only have 15 mins to go before you need to take a minimum of 15 mins again- however if you want to reset the 6hr working time clock again them you would have to total a 30 min break instead of a 15- you wouldn't need to reset again tho because there isn't enough working time left in your day to require that. Hope that helps

The easiest way is to take 15 minutes then 30 to cover both WTD and drivers hours. But please be aware that if you work after 15:30 you need another 15 minutes break. Seems strange to finish a shift and not be allowed to sign-off, til I have a break at the end of it, to satisfy these requirements- I'd rather go home.

      Is this what actually happens ?😂

      All you have to do is manual entry a 15-minute break then manual entry 5 minutes other work and then daily rest when you come in the next day. If you've worked 7hrs and 35 minutes and only had a 15 before six hours you can pull your card out and go home, just don't download it until you've manual entry a 15 minutes break and other work. An infringement will pop up on the system if you download it, but once you've done your manual entry and download your card again it will delete the infringement. Used to do it all the time at my old job and the office couldn't work out how an infringement had just disappeared off the system.
