I track my stash in grams as well. I think it's the most accurate, though I know some people do meterage.and I understand the advantages, but I like being able to knock out a bunch of aran hats and have a quick win.

I really enjoyed the format of this podcast. I do like long, chatty videos. The socks are beautiful, the blanket looks fabulous and the cross stitch (plus the ‘underwear’ back of it 😂) looks lovely. Both of your bags are right up my alley - autumn is my favourite time of year, and all the animals and colours of your stitching bag appealed, and what is there not to love about chickens? My current project bags in use: 1 is an autumnal mushroom bag, and the other is with big chickens on it, so we obviously have similar tastes! I am British, married to a Texan and we live in England, so I can well appreciate your feelings around the US election 🥲. Re the candle called ‘sweater weather’: Because we live in rainy old England, I always chuckle when I hear that name, because it immediately brings to mind the smell of damp wool and wet dogs! You asked about the back of cross stitch: there's a game a lot of (most?) cross stich-ers were taught to play which is how neat, how economical with your yarn, can you be on the wrong side of your piece. I was taught this way by mother, which makes sense because she was raised poor by people who came of age during the Great Depression. You didn't want to waist a single inch of floss. There is not currently a floss shortage, but keeping the wrong side as neat as possible can keep dark colours from showing through light fabric and keep the fabric smooth for framing or otherwise displaying your art. I, personally, enjoy the challenge of stitching in a very floss-conservative way, except when it comes to using every last half-inch of floss by sticking the needle through the hole and then threading it before every stitch because the floss is too short to pull through and turn around. Thankfully, that habit I've kicked. But while I consider finding the most efficient path to be a fun puzzle that adds to my enjoyment of embroidering, I think commenting on anyone else's wrong side without invitation is rude and mean spirited. It's most likely that the floss tubers you're watching are displaying their pieces in a way that's not easy to show the wrong side, but it could also be that they don't want to be judged.

I always enjoy seeing all of your socks! Also congrats on your first egg! I’ve had a small backyard flock for 5 years now and they are so much fun. Enjoy this fist winter where they’ll still lay - next year they might stop for fall molt and then for winter due to shorter days.

Love the Sock set! It screams fall and Christmas at the same time! The chickens are adorable! Quick tip about granny squares, if you don't like the slight vortex that tends to happen when you crochet them, you can turn the granny square when you of to start a new round.
