That's How We Roll! Where do I begin? Well, to say thanks to you all for making this happen! I shed a tear... and I will re-watch this and shed some more. I only have a few regrets in life: - that I only rediscovered Piet's music again in 2020! - that I never met the giant in real life - that I never witnessed a real live show where he was the MAIN MAN! However - I can say honestly - Piet's music touched my soul! I love how he expresses life in his music... life I have also lived! Ja... laat die wiele rol! Thanks Piet... you have left me a better person... blessed and grateful to now have the privilege of enjoying just a little of your legacy! I sit... next to the braai, on a chilly Irish evening - my son plays the music - and Piet and/ or Jack Hammer - or even Wildebees - transports me back to SA... longing for the sands of the Cape... or the flat planes of the bush - where we had to fight that war. Thank you all - you have filled my heart with a cool, blessed feeling... and now I will listen again to some of Piet's songs... just to shed another tear... for lost times and fond memories... but... that's how we roll!

Will I forget drifting down to Bloed Street, listening on the outside, with Robin Hawkins, and our colleague (at that time) venturing outside for a quick smoke. Last saw him in Hermanus. Go well, Piet.

Keep shining Piet, the real ones rolling keep rolling. We miss you brother of us

Hier sit ek... in Ierland - en "ontdek" weer 'n lig ende wat so so vaarweg kan onthou! I will find Piet Botha's music - together with the muzo's he played with - an in my own way share his legacy with others! This cool vibe needs to be exposed to others!! Dankie julle almal!

It was a wonderful time recording and working 24/7 living in the studio for a week, doing it Jack Hammer style , which is rock n roll full throttle!! It was to be the last Jack Hammer album , but , we still got to do a Piet Botha record , ‘middernagtrein ‘ , which was just as cool to be a part of, so many songs, highways, tragedy’s and triumphs, we still live to make the music and find the magic!!! Don’t we?
