French MAS 36: I FINALLY Got one but there is a PROBLEM!
Huge shout out to Simpsons LTD for a great purchase of this historic Firearm. I have a post war production model that is in amazing condition. This gun is simple, functional, and an absolute joy to shoot. I love everything about it except the rear aperture peep site. This opening is tiny and I have no idea how this could have been effective in combat. The tiny aperture essentially eliminates the possibility of rapid target acquisition. I hope you enjoy the video.

STOP Digging Post Holes: Use this SIMPLE Anchor System Instead!
มุมมอง 2.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Need to build small structures that require 4X4 posts? You got to try this anchor/bracket technique for hunting blinds, fencing, chicken runs, and really anything requiring a post. My posts literally never moved through a harsh New England winter. The anchors navigate rocks and roots very well. In this video, I show you my chicken run and demonstrate how to put in a post using the anchor system...

TEXAS Rig! Make Your OWN
มุมมอง 514 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Texas Rig is a universal gold standard. In this video, I demonstrate how to make your own. I use this rig EVERYWHERE for everything. You need: 1. No 6 barrel barrel swivel to contact your main line to the leader 2. #2 offset hook 3. A small bead 4. A 1/16 oz bullet weight 5. Leader material 6-8 pound monofilament or fluorocarbon (about 1 foot) 6. Big Fake Worm

In this video, I share a simple and proven approach to turkey calling using a SLATE call. There is no need to overcomplicate. There are ONLY two sounds you need: The CLUCK and the YELP. If you can do those two, you are done! Every once in a while I will throw in a PURR. Watch this video and you are good to GO!!!!
ICE Fishing for SMALLIES! We found a TRICK!
มุมมอง 756 หลายเดือนก่อน
Les and I had an amazing day on the NH ice. We were targeting Smallmouth Bass but were only catching Perch and Pickerel until Les noticed a buoy in the ice that clearly must have been a Summer Marker for structure beneath (so boats would not hit it). We set up around around the buoy and BAM! We used the same technique as in my other ice fishing video, about 1-2 feet off the bottom with live med...
SWEDISH M94 Mauser- I Made a BIG MISTAKE!
มุมมอง 2.1K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Collectors BEWARE! I have a beautiful M94/14 Swedish Mauser Carbine. This gun should be really collectible as all serial numbers match and it is in wonderful condition. However, this gun was imported sometime in the 1950s-60s by a company called Interarmco (otherwise known ast Interarms Company). They were a huge arms dealer. What they did is grind off the manufactured date on the receiver and ...

MAPLE Venison Sausage- Grandma's SECRET Recipe!
มุมมอง 2089 หลายเดือนก่อน
Many sausage recipes are over thought with too many additives. I found my Grandma's recipe written on an index card in a box in my attic about 10 years ago. It calls for: 4 pounds ground venison 2 pounds ground pork 1 minced onion 2 tbsp kosher sa...
New Hampshire Muzzleloader, HUGE ATYPICAL BUCK!
มุมมอง 3169 หลายเดือนก่อน
I ended up smoking a 200 pound atypical buck on the last day of Muzzleloader. This is my biggest deer of my hunting career. Everything happened so fast, I could NOT get the shot on video. Self-video is so hard! Please check out my other video on building the blind I am using. You can comfortably sleep in it which makes morning hunts ideal. Good luck to everyone this season!
HEART Racing BEAR Hunt- New Hampshire Delivers!
มุมมอง 43311 หลายเดือนก่อน
No Narration, No music. Watch Les's dream hunt unfold. This bear took forever to present a broad side shot. Now bring on the sausage and roasts! Les self-filmed this hunt which is super hard! This hunt was the culmination of a massive amount of work. The roller ramp was key to getting the bear into the truck bed. Please watch that video too if you want to make one. Good luck this season!

British Enfield No 4, MK 1- Adjusting the Front Sight
That crack in the corner of the bedroom is an open door for squirrel’s and rats that will shred those beds and everything else in there in no time. It has to be almost bullet proof. Great idea though and I have wished for a place to nap in the stand several times. Good luck and enjoy it.
Thanks for the comment. Everything is sealed and I have had zero rodent problems since I built it. I even put on glue traps, but never anything!
Late to the game here, but that's one kick-azz hunting blind! Question: Is it possible to wrap the outside with exactly the same as the surrounding foliage? Make it so it just disappears into the forest, so to speak. Kind of like one of those 'can you see the sniper?' Never seen anybody do that.....
Thanks for the comment. The plywood is 3/4 inch Pressure Treated, so it will accept anything stapled, nailed, or glued. I think you would be fine. The other thing that I have done in the past is staple pine /spruce branches all around. But honestly, I am invisible in the way I have it. I have had beer and deer walk in front of window so close that I could have touched them!
Lmfao knew it was a G33 from the thumbnail
😁
You will get used to it. Don't sit square to the rifle. Your but should be a bit behind the rifle's but. Your back should make a / to meet the rifle not an I. Right now the rifle is recoiling on a small part of your shoulder versus your entire core and back. Practice a bit doing off-hand shooting with that rifle with good stance and you will handle recoil better. I prefer shooting intermediate cartridges. However, I have noticed since everybody seems to be shooting intermediate cartridges nowadays off of rests, a lot of people don't understand that their stance impacts felt-recoil a great deal. The heavier the cartridge, the more it will punish a shooter that uses a weak stance. By and large, the 03A3 is not a very hard hitter. Contrast it to a handi-rifle in 45-70, Levers in 30-30, 45-70, 7.62*54r, 8*56r, 8mm Mauser, and you will see it is in the lower end of that spectrum. Contrast it to any magnum rifle cartridge in the ball park of 458 Win Mag, or a Pardner 10-gauge with a slug, and it is very light.
Ya, I noticed on GB there were a couple of these. I didn’t understand what they were. I have bought a true Calvary rifle , which I adore, but you are correct. Those add marked ones can be deceiving. I now have an M41b, M96, the M94 Calvary. Looking for a M36 and maybe a target rifle, if I come across one which is a True target, not just one someone added period sights to.
I agree 100%
Man that is a heavy rifle. Sporterize it please. Im tried looking at it.
Great job. That's a big jump though from .243 to 30-06 Have you considered the 6.5 Creedmore or the 7-08. Both capable, but way less recoil than a 30-06. When hunting with my 30-06 I never feel the recoil, but at the range, it's brutal. My 6.5 Creedmore has very light recoil even at the range.
Interarms has a history of horrible ideas.
Hello, what is that cheek rest on your k31? It’s beautiful!
It is the Tourbon cheek rest. I think I got it from amazon: Here is the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011ILPZG8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
The one I have has a barrel from 09 and the receiver is from 1911 strange 🤔
That’s so cool man 😀🇨🇦
Thanks, now I am disappointed overtime there is nothing in a butt stock!
Great review!
Sorry, I made an error in tis video! Adjustable elevation, not windage
Punishing recoil? No. Not even close. My mauser and lee enfield kick. Springfield is the softest shooting bolt gun i have
I am definitely recoil sensitive as I had shoulder surgery. Great guns you mention!
hanks for the video. I live in Australia and haven't come across thos so it was very useful. You got a sub due to you presentation. Not full of yourself. Just a normal bloke. My beautiful wife and I like normal, not arrogant
Thanks for the nice comments! I love sharing information and things that I have learned.
That's great for anyone wanting a 2 foot tall fence. Put a 6 foot post in there and an average man leans on the fence, the device rips right out of the ground. Do you even understand how leverage works? ... asking for a friend.
I would totally disagree. I built a sturdy chicken coop run, a wood storage shed (6 foot height). These posts are incredibly strong in the brackets and you can't push them over even with all one's weight. Moreover, after they are connected by 2/4s to make a structure, it will be around a lot longer then most people! :)
The same thing would happen with concrete or expanding foam. The soil is a key here though I think. Soft soil like sand or muddy clay would have less stability. I think you still have to dig and stabilize some soils. I would also recommend dipping the posts in some tar or painting with other pitch of some kind to extend the life as moisture collects in the bottom. Thoughts?
@@MrBeasley1 Great point about dipping the posts prior to setting. I have clay soil and even 6 foot posts seem very stable, especially when that are connected as part of the structure.
I have sand on one side and Rocky soil on the other. This wouldn't work here. I've had cement based ones for twenty years.
You mention hunting blinds...I wonder how they handle the weight overhead??
I am working on one soon, so I will update you as soon as I get it going
@@themedhunter It'll be interesting how sturdy they are with a box on top!??
Ha ha ha ha and you got two wuss pads. Wth lol
Above average fish for sure
It's funny as I get older, it is just about getting out in nature and the potential for great things. I also think it is important for anglers to know the state records, because I was close with that Fall fish!
The G11/K11 cocks on opening so the initial tug on the bolt handle needs to be firm and abrupt, if you are handloading don't cycle the bolt back too fast because it will dent the mouth of the ejected case.
Thanks for the info!
What do you do with the leftover ipa?
The beginning of fun night!
At least you are better off?
Cool gun, sorry but it's a nice gun.
I do agree and someone else pointed out that it still has a cool story with the modification.
Exellent
The first time I fired my, 327 mag, I could not get 3 shells to eject. I had to pound them out with a brass rod. I sent the gun back 6 weeks ago I have received one e mail saying a tech has it. I have tried calling with no help. Ruger service sucks.
So Sorry! That stinks. Do you know if others have had problems with the 327 mag?
@@themedhunter I saw one utubed post the same problem, his name is Buffalo.
Does this hurt the turkey?
So informative!
That looks amazing! Well done!
Thanks! and don't forget to mix in a little corn starch if you like things on the crispier side.
napolean dynamite used a gun like this to shoot wolverines
I would say that it's still collectible. It's niche and shows the lifecycle of the rifle through it's history. If you could get ahold of an un-altered M94/14, it would make for a great comparison/conversation starter in my opinion.
Great idea and thanks for the support!
Well, you have one. I don't. Cool rifle.
GREAT RIFLE EVERYTHING NICE=PREMIUM $$$$
Thanks, she is a beauty, I just wish nobody had messed with the markings.
Dueschsmarch
as said by many others already - rebuilds of these was a common practice, so don’t be discouraged. Very Nice gun! Enjoy it. thank you
Thanks, it is a great shooter. I have come to the conclusion that all guns are made to shoot, even if they are collectible.
I agree, I am a shooter too who prefers use as well as the history. Many opportunities out there for restoration if you are willing to study. Thanks and keep it up friend!
Im thinking about getting one now myself. Having Swiss heritage, I've been wanting a few Swiss rifles.
You should, amazing gun. I have not hunted with it yet, but I hope to soon. Good luck!
Awesome! That’s a good eating size. Given the time of year, it’s a post-spawn fish!
Thanks, hopefully we can find some more!
nice catch!
Hope to see you out on the water this summer!
Wow!
Thats a tank
Thanks! good luck to you this fishing season!
They should have reverse the pic rail and you don’t need that big of an optic to shoot in nh. Odds are your in a stand with maybe 100 yards los or a backyard.
You’d be surprised the distances you can get it northern NH. Here in Maine I hunt a lot up on the NH border, and there are tons of ridgelines with shots to scrubland below around 400-500yds.
@@PrebleStreetRecords yeah this guy is a tree squatter. I can tell you for a fact. 4-500 yards is about twice the size of the biggest huntable fields in southern nh . If you noticed how you said maine sure past Errol up that way sure . Where they actually do food plots Down in the flatlands no. Also anywhere prime hunting is in nh with actual public use(less) is an oxy moron, land with any elevation.very far and few in-between actually exist. It’s not like hunting aroostook county. Or the NEK in vt. This is more of a 1 acre in the flatlands hang out in my tree and wait for the one spike horn that crosses my property once a month to show up and hit em at bow range . That rifle is only good for road hunting or tree dangling. I grew up it was taking your rifle for a walk in the woods and shooting even or shooting down switchbacks or brooks. There is none of that left now. Unless you own 30 acres and that just about makes you a flatty who can’t hunt or a farmer who don’t need to hunt just throw open the window and watch a food plot.
@@PrebleStreetRecordsalso 4-500 is more like 2-300 and that’s still baby yardage. That’s decent for a rifle from almost 100 years ago in a place where a sigh line is only good for 100 -200 yards.again tree squatters or road hunters. Sure it’s a “good setup” if you have a food plot and wanna treat em as pests
Bought one from a pawn shop today and the rod is bent to heck. This is a little cookie crumb in case others are also looking for a similar video. I haven't found the video I need yet.
Thanks for sharing!
I'd just keep it and run it, even for hunting. It will make a fine deer hunting carbine and even for picking off woodchucks. I'd not fret too hard over it. My M-94 Carbine was sporterized. Do I fret over it? Not one bit.
THANKS! Great perspective
It is of good quality, yes they should have not altered the date made and renamed it interarms. But it functions the same as an unaltered one. There are a limited number of these carbines and they will increase in value as it is not drilled and otherwise original. clean it and keep it in good condition. I think that they altered these guns due to foolish US regulations which again make "I am from the government and I am here to help" a joke.
Still a nice rifle ! Period I own three a 41 and two 96 .s
My 1943 Remington’s recoil is nowhere near what I would call ‘punishing.’ Maybe try ammo made for the M1 rifle. Of course it could be that you never shot a full power battle rifle.
In this case, I agree. but overall size is very much important ask my wife😮
The NRA developed a rule about front sights?
I am not sure, what have you heard?
I know this is uncommon now but when I was a young man working in a gun shop the owner used to buy crates of Enfields/Kar98s etc. It was VERY common back then to see a sweetheart picture or a note in case they died lots of cool stuff.
