It doesn’t work on PCs after patch 7 anymore. Maybe it still works on other platforms that haven’t been updated?

I mean i get why people do this, but why not just use a trainer for infinite gold if you're going to just use a glitch to do essentially that?

Do as you want everyone its your game. Go run mods and/or play your way. Just remember that doing this breaks fundamental balance in the game. So if you wish to have an intended baseline experience avoid exploita

you have to drag the item towards the backpack icon, not on the slots

I've been using this trick for a few months now, but having just played yesterday the 2 bags did not appear to have to be the same. What I have been doing is gifting the vendor a sack within a backpack, then opening up both, putting the vendor's items into the sack, then dragging the items to my inventory and dropping on the icon of the backpack. Perhaps because the sack is inside a backpack then technically it's the same "bag type" but whatever it works just fine. Thanks for this helpful tip for everyone who doesn't know as of yet!

I had 150k gold on tactitian at the end of act 3 without any bug using, u cant even do something with it, so who needs unlimited gold then?

For console players if this doesn't work: I don't know if it has been fixed but there's a trick with pact of the blade warlock. Take at least level 3 on warlock to get pact boon, take pact of the blade. Equip the most expensive weapon in your inventory for better rate. Bind pact with your equipped weapon to make it into pact weapon. Now pact weapon cannot be added to wares, but the trick is to select both the pact weapon and one sellable item (can be whatever). Add them to wares. Select the sellable item and remove it from wares, now your wares only consist of the pact weapon. The feature of pact weapon is that it always comes back to you. It won't appear in the trade screen, however if you click [sell wares] the vendor will buy it from you, but the weapon will magically return to your inventory due to being a pact weapon. In real D&D it wouldn't work but the NPC in BG3 doesn't realize this. Click sell wares over and over again and now you get free gold. Buy their stocks, sell wares again, you essentially get everything for free. Notes: Make sure it's on the trade option and not barter You can raise the vendor attitude towards you for better exchange rate, here's the trick: You can instantly 100 attitude a vendor by giving them 400 gold for each of your current level. So if you are a level 3 warlock, just barter them 1200 gold without taking anything, their attitude will get to 100 and you will get your gold anyway. Remember to quick save in case it goes wrong.

Yep, does work, gave me a dialogue for stealing, but I think there was a guard nearby that triggered it.

i cant do it, maybe they fixed it in the past 20 minuets but i dont think so, i dont think im doing anything wrong, i used 2 backpacks shift clicked into the bag and into my bag. if i put them into the bag icon they just dont move from his bag and if i put them into my bag they cost money

Do you have to have both bags open at the same time for this to work? I play on ps5, and was thinking of starting another campaign soon. This might be the push I need to break free of the 2 month long elden ring binge I've been on lol.

So I tested this today it does work as long as the bags are of the same type. I'm as shocked as anyone that they didnt completely fix this. Drag the items onto the icon and make sure multiple items are selected.

As tempting as this I'll have to pass. The joy of getting each item is the hard work that went in to it. If I can just take anything I want it more or less spoils the fun.
