Andika Jordan lets not forget that Croatia and Hungary were once together in a Union as well as in the Austrian Hungarian empire together so there would have been 500+ years of mixtures there. ☺️

This part of Croatian folk is from n/w part called Zagorje and Međimurje...wich is border with Hun/Slo...There lots of variation of Crofolk music and dance depend on region and influene thru the centuries.

Joe Kerr Actually it is hungarian. I think a hungarian group visited that folk dance festival. Their dance style is very different even they are neighbor counties.

If you look at the musician very close - you can see the hungarian flag. There are only a few music peace’s , which is common in this countries. And they are from this century. Not the old folk songs.

@@AndikaLinedance Actually you can't, because it's the Croatian flag i.e. Croatian tricolor - red, white and blue. They are not Hungarians.

Croatia and Hungary have an unbreakable historical bond. Nikola Subic Zrinski or Zrínyi Miklós being one of them. We are a bit distanced now, though. It needs to be fixed. As for your last name; Horvat is one of the most common last names in Hungary and most common in Slovakia. Reason for that are different invaders that tried conquering Croatia and common folk started migrating from Croatia towards north. So yes, you do have Croatian ancestry somewhere in your family's history. Those people came and settled in Hungary and locals started calling them by their ethnicity. They probably had typical Croatian last names before that. There is a last name Madjar (Magyar) in Croatia although not so common. All the best to you and beautiful Hungary.
