My program started in September 2023, but now, following the new rules, my program is not eligible for PGWP. I won't apply for a study permit extension, as I have plenty of time to finish. However, I will send my study permit to get amended (add working conditions). Do you think if I send my study permit to get amended, even if I won't change my program of studies, it could negatively affect my PGWP?

Before criticizing the Canadian government, some if not most people from other countries coming to Canada should assess themselves first if they are actually a fit for Canada. They should ask themselves if they are capable of work and not hard core lazy, If they respect their women as equals, if they can socialize and not offend other people with their habit, hygiene and culture, if they can adjust to Canadian lifestyle and not make Canada adjust for them and most of all not corrupt minded and heartless in duping/scamming Canadians! Being smart is not even a criteria to be a fit because smart people are the worst crooks of them all. If they are none of these, and still treated harshly by the government, then they may have the right to say something about this country and its government! Instead of commenting against the government that has always been accommodating to newcomers, make vlogs that will educate their own people that they should stay home if they cannot be real, decent people that will help Canada and not make it a cockroaches den swarmed by the undesired!

I would say, Canada benefited a lot from the students, from those who spent their money on studies and investment in other forms than studies purchasing or rolling money inside Canada benefited the Canadian economy. Nonetheless, from those who came here on tricking the legal authorities, or not respecting the Canadian law. I would say both way everyone needs to understand to maintain balance.

Hello. I am an international student in Canada since January 2023. I have taken 2 leave of absences so far which are authorized by my University which has DLI status. I am currently enrolled into the same program and i am still outside of Canada and planning to return in January 2025 as i am enrolled. If i want to change my DLI and apply for a new study permit, am i going to be affected? I am doing my bachelor of science in information technology at Concordia University of Edmonton. Please let me know what steps can i take since i only have 10 days 🙏

I have already updated my DLI number and contacted IRCC to confirm whether I need to change my study permit, and they informed me that no change is required. Hi, I came in May 2023, change the college but course was same diploma in accounting, name would differ but its accounting related. Hi, my course started in September 2023 (hospitality management, 2 years), but I changed it after 2 semesters and started my new course (business, 2 years) from May 2024. It is set to finish in December 2024. I want to know will I be eligible for this work permit in this new policy because I will file my study permit extension in January 2025 because my study permit is ending in August 2025, but my new course will finish in December 2025. I took the business course before November 2024 but I am going to file my study permit extension after November 1 so please tell me will this policy affect me or not.

I started my first course on September 2023 and finished it on april. Hello, I am a student in who already finished non pgwp program that started in Jan 2024 and have already applied for study permit extension before Nov 1st for second program starting Jan 2025 that is also non pgwp list. Hello…. My first course was Construction Project Management and I selected BIM AS second course which is not in the list. I applied for my study permit extension on October 9th and got approved on December 5th. I hope I don’t need to change the program.

Study Permit holders and applicants with applications submitted prior to November 1st 2024 will be excluded from this new PGWP condition.
