Coln, Scapa Flow 120724
This was our second visit to the wreck this week. visibility was challenging. However we successfully navigated down to the stern, across the salvage area and down to the rudder section. My buddy focused on the auxiliary steering gear. This left me with propeller cones, rudder and anchor. Plus I managed to find a couple of guns on the way back round.

This wreck is big, very big, with extra bigness for the unwary. My plan for this dive was to descend the stern shot line and take video footage of the engine rooms, propeller A frames, rudders and possibly some portholes. The rudders stand 3.5 metres tall and the gap between them make lighting both rudders at the same time a challenge. Poor viz does not help either. I manage some decent footage...

Time for the really big guns, 30.5 cm calibre. I spent some time experimenting with lighting up the hollow mast with mixed results. Battling poor viz, current and several lights can be harder than first appears. Looks like I will have to go back...... :)

Very challenging viz conditions, not my best ever video for this wreck. Enough said really

Brass railings, guns, and fighting lights are all to be seen in this video. Challenging visibility though.

This is another of my experimental lighting videos. I was using a couple of 18,000 and a 9,000 lumen light with my GoPro 9 for this video. The visibility was not not too great in the water which made things a bit challenging. So look out for 15 cm guns, pinnace boiler, and capstans being lit up. #Huskyan

This is the first of a series of dive videos taken up at Scapa Flow in July 2024. This week I was taking additional video lighting with me to experiment with different lighting positions, some worked and some did not. I was using a pair of 9,000 and a pair of 18,000 lumen Divepro video lights, plus a GoPro 9. The video starts at the bow, look out for the big badge. The dives moves slowly to the...
F2 Scapa Flow 100724
มุมมอง 62 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
The F2 is an easy 16 metre deep dive in Scapa Flow. I was using this dive to improve my backlighting video skills. For those that have never attempted to backlight scenes underwater, it is a bit harder than first thought. So with shallow water and plenty of no deco time I could have a play. The video starts off and ends at the bow, takes in the gun, the gear boxes, the compressed gas cylinders ...
Orca hunt off Orkney
มุมมอง 1.2K7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This happened after our final dive off Orkney. It took some time to work out what was happening. Basically there is a pod of orca and they are hunting a seal. This will become obvious at the end of the video. Just so you are aware the boat was stationary, the orcas and seal came to us. We were respecting the rules about not getting too close.
Ed''s Unknown site 280624
มุมมอง 4014 วันที่ผ่านมา
This was a first visit to a site that Ed, skipper of Skindeep, had found. My buddy and I dropped into a horse shoe shaped hole in around 27 metres. It was a very pretty with Spiny lobsters and other critters. There are are the occasional nudibranch to be seen. Fantastic way to end the dive trip. The video was shot using a GoPro 9 in 4k 60 FPS and a pair of 9,000 lumen Divepro lights were used
Wingletang 280624

Wingletang is one of the well known Isles of Scilly scenic dives. We found plenty of wildlife: spiny lobsters, wrasse and jelly fish for starters. The video was shot using a GoPro 9 in 4k 60 FPS with two 9,000 lumen Divepro lights. We were diving off Skindeep skippered by Ed
Cable dive 270624
มุมมอง 4314 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Isles of Scilly has a dive site I know as the cable dive. You will see the pipeline for the cable occasionally as we gently swim into deeper water. Look out for tompot blennies, and interesting worm life on the sea bed. We were diving off Skindeep skippered by Ed.
Cita 270624

The Cita is a recent ship wreck. So in some way it lacks the "character" of older wrecks. Having said that it is woorth a visit. For the week we were diving off Skindeep

Lady Charlotte is one of those quite interesting Isles of Scilly sites. Plenty of machinery and prop shaft bits and pieces to be seen. Plenty of life too. Skindeep dive charters was out boat

This wreck site is near the Bishop Rock lighthouse off the Isles of Scilly. It is worth reading about the navigation errors made by the Royal Navy..... This video is mostly a scenic dive, with plenty of spiny lobsters to be seen which is good news. We were diving off Skindeep skippered by Ed.
LEAVE ORCAS ALONE
Cool footage
Very nice
great video, i live on Harris and watching to see if it would be worth dropping a line over top 🎣
My thought would be to fish away from the wreck as we found little fish life actually on the wreck.
Nice footage, where is that?
Google search is quite useful. Taransay is a small island off the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.
@@ianhicks1963 Cool thanks and I look forward to your next video
I view first, since no views. 😁
Are they not afraid of shark while diving into the sea?
Same
@@ryanlembke4802 you answer is irrelevant to my concern and not pertaining the answer..for instance..Q. is tomorrow monday? Ans. There are 7 days in a week and each day has its own significance.
These hammerhead sharks feed on blue spotted rays, not humans. Theses sharks arrive at the same reef location most afternoons, we do not know why. So long as the group of divers do not surround a shark then the sharks appear relaxed.
i miss diving bro
He's got a battery heated jacket in there I bet lol, I'm a wetsuit peasant
13c water temp. So heated under suit not really required
@@ianhicks1963 Where I dive water get to -1c at peak summer so I need 14mm of wetsuit to keep the shivering under control
Lovely video Ian xx
I have never dive in Kenlochbervie only 5 hrs from me . What’s the name of the first fish in the video? Also love the seal swimming behind Paul the diver is that Paul with the twins ?😂
