Videos really make me appreciate the steepness and the rock scrambles. More realistic than most of the hiking videos where you only see the sunshine, butterflies and unicorns !

Great video - thanks for noting where you are so I can follow along with my maps. Just got my permit for Kearsage Pass entry NOBO. Did you have any issues with mosquitos?

We hit that exact campsite on Bear Creek! It was a great choice. And looks like they added a few tent bunks since we were there in 2021. I've stopped at VVR both trips, it is WELL worth the stop. Great staff, lots of fellowship with other hikers.. but THE FOOD! OMG. Silver Pass vs Goodale Pass.... you made the right choice. Silver was much more worth the effort. Goodale was just... hard. So was the burn area near Red's Meadow. Well done to you all! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip.

Nice commentary of the section Sam! We will be starting SOBO from Florence/MTR this summer (snow permitting) to finish up the trail and this is good intel. Thanks for sharing! Evolution valley was spectacular, although the whole trail is pretty amazing. New Sub!
