Funny to see my ship been flown by someone else
Are you talking about the mustang? Funny thing is I got it for free when I bought a graphics card 7 or 8 years ago!
I sadly heve to upgrade my laptop to play star sitizin
Yeah, the game is not even close to be optimized yet.
@Nyghtshade95 i know bud the i get the upgrade on sunday
@ 1:11:10 they dicuss the killing of a Elwynn Forest lv6 Kobold boss... LIke it's a raidboss. This takes me back to the days of Leeroy Jenkins. Or Egbert running into bosses in Sunwell making raid leaders think we had a pet pull and causing a half afk raid to wipe itself.
LOL, the reason we were treating like a raid boss was I had just lost a mage to Narg 30 minutes prior!
My god the last two hours of this vid is unwatchable. Because of how out of sync it is. This podcaster might want to review these vids. To see how badly they are out of sync. The audio also gets speeded up as well.
Yes that is unfortunate. The first couple of days we streamed this game I was having connection issues. I think they were both on my side and the game not being completely optimized yet
So. Many. Jump scares. 🤣
back to one Neurohelmet time is btw automatic when you jump back into the cockpit, you do not need to set the slider extra:)
Thank you, that is nice to know! I am really enjoying your mod.
Got my first hero mech while this vid was on :) Firestarter, 4 mg and 4 flame. Switched the flames for sm las sb tho.
That is awesome! I usually will do that as well.
It wrecks everything. So ofc grabbed another Firestarter from mission salvage, 2x MG 2x m las 4x s las. Don't rly like that one, wind up giving myself away before being within MG range. Lol
Arguing with the angel on your shoulder
What's the mod your using that shows the heat gauge on enemy mechs?
It’s called yet another heatsink restriction. I can link it when I get back home to my computer.
Turret stomping ftw!
Everytime Brother, ever single time!!!!!
The neurohelmet time control will increase the game time speed while in the satellite view. Good for speeding up walking all the way across an empty map to get to a nav point.
Thank you! That is very helpful.
One important things, vonCommander and the extensions are still a little Early Access.. so the target cam can not show the target on occasions, sometimes a thing is not registered and so on.. but we will get there;) Important also: the abort orders button in vC if you want to clear all orders out.
But first.. Update to the latest Patreon Early Access Version is important, it already has more fixes inside:)
I use to play table top battletech decades ago . My favorite vehicles using the tonnage rules were XL fusion VTOLs with either 3 or 4 maybe even up to 5 medium pulse lasers. Cant remember ( decades ago) . I would shoot and scoot all 4 of my VTOLs on a single mech .
That sounds like an awesome strategy! Using those XL fusion VTOLs with pulse lasers must have been a blast-literally!
Hey folks, Nyghtshade's Twitch Channel is 3 followers away from 50! Go follow here: www.twitch.tv/nyghtshade95 !
Early game is about the most fun with light and mediums
@@monostripeexplosiveexplora2374 I definitely agree!
Assassins are fun.. I think you should build one.
Locusts are fun
They are when you can keep them alive!!!
That power amplifier you just picked is an item made for I.C. (internal combustion) engines and imo it's not really worth even going for those engines unless you want to go for a gimmick mech with primitive tech
Thanks for the heads up. I thought I had found something I could use later!
Good timing for a new series, vonBiomes Update 20 is coming (hopefully) tomorrow;)
I always look forward to your updates!
I think I heard someone say that the last dlc messed with how the AI works in the game and basically broke the ttrulez mod, so thats why it hasnt been updated. Probably has to be reworked from ground up or something like that.
Yeah, from what I read on Nexus the guy that does the mod had some family stuff going on and he was basically in the middle of a bif update so he is rolling the update and fis for the dlc in one. Although he has not posted anything since mid april. Fingers crossed he updates it!!!
Some mechs just inherently have more upgrade slots than others. Just like how some have more hardpoints than others. I believe it is to add more uniqueness to the mechs, but in practice it just makes some chassis less useful than others.
Totally get what you mean! It's like some mechs are born with all the cool gadgets, and others are just left wishing for more.
If you use the commander quirk mod you're commander should be able to keep up with the other pilots.
That's interesting, I think I will get that for next playthrough
I played way too much WoW back in the day... dont think I could pick it up again though, that game is such a time sink.
My brother wanted us to stream something together and somehow we decided on Hardcore wow, We have died a few tomes already and it is kinda fun.
Admittedly, I do not watch battletech. Fun to play, but boring to watch if you ask me, I like action if I am just watching. So, I am always down for more MW5 episodes.
I get it, watching Battletech can be a bit slow-paced. I personally enjoy both playing and watching. My MW5 content isn't going anywhere - at least not until the Clans come out!
The problem with the griffins weapon groups last episode was that only one of the SRMs was assigned to the weapon groups so you werent using the other 2 SRMs. It was fixed when you saved the weapon groups in the mechbay at the start of this episode.
Thank you for the clarification!
Fix those weapon groups and that griffin will be 3x better.
ADHD strikes again!
you might want to check your weapons groups on the griffin, that was painful to watch.
Appreciate the tip! I'll make sure to fine-tune those weapon groups for maximum efficiency.
Blackjacks.. that is a bold choice!
Blackjacks for the win...?! Actuallly, they have worked out really well
Medium lances are fun
I have never used one so I am looking forward to it!
not gonna lie, you firing those flamers from 500+m away is both vexing and hilarious
I wish there was a modern guide on modded mechwarrior. Heat, critical slots, critical hits, the various salvage systems, battle tech weapon types pros and cons etc, hero mechs, damage avoidance, ton of content needed out there as sales and upcoming dlc bring in new players. I played TT in 90s and I’m still lost at times, thanks for your other video covering the basic common accepted mods
Haha trying to shoot that turret right in front of you over and over when all you had to do was take two steps forward and flatten it under your foot.
Dude, you have no idea how dumb I felt!
Haha, I have some idea.. We've all been there.
Gotta keep the weapons on the arms with the Hermes for that +1 accuracy because of the lower arm actuators. It's a nice backstabber though!
Love that you're diving deep into the mechanics of the game! Keep the strategies coming!
If the planet is uninhabited there won't be a store.
So the planent I am on says Mega City and Moderate Population but I do not see a store there. Am I seeing something wrong?
@@Nyghtshade95 might just be a bug.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
When I have had issues with uploads not finishing I just edit some of the text in the description and apparently that will "reset" the processing, then I just wait the normal amount of processing time (a few hours for 4k 1 hr video for me) and it will finish. I did have a video one time that never finished processing, went back and realized that the video file was actually corrupted because I ran out of disk space when I was creating the video and didnt notice. It wouldnt play anything past the first 10 minutes or so and I guess youtube got hung on that during processing.
"Thanks for sharing! That's really helpful to know. I'll definitely give that a try next time I run into processing issues. It's interesting to hear about your video file being corrupted, I remember being very low on disk space on one of my videos, although I'm not sure if it was that one or not. I recently upgraded my workflow and got a new 16gb HDD for archiving, it has helped a bunch. I really appreciate your feedback!
MALWARE BYTES the free version will clean up your system nicely . Just remember to end it running in the background because it is memory intensive . Just run it for scans .
Hey, thanks for the tip on Malwarebytes!
UAV Compartment can launch a "general" uav into the air. Buying speciality uavs just offers different options. I usually put the Compartment on my slower units that have a open slot. Launching a uav finishes your turn, can't move.
Thanks for the heads up!
Don't forget about the Improved FCS, you have two in stock now that can go on the Wraith and Hermes for the +1 gunnery and night vision. Also, The ER Large Laser Blazefire doesn't do any added heat damage, that would be orange and in parentheses next to the regular damage. What is nice about the Blazefire is that that particular one is only 4 tons compared to the 5 tons of the regular IS Extend range laser, but it does have that 15% jam chance. It is a good combo piece if you are looking for some extra weight without any slots.
I finally put those in one of the upcoming episodes. I can't believe I did not use such and easy upgrade.
Might be worth a day or two to add that C sensor and Improved FCS to one of the mechs!
Does the C Sensor do anything without the C Master?
@@Nyghtshade95 Different Items. The sensor is just the component in the head. The Clan version will give you 5% more sensor and sight range then the stock sensors.
Awesome, I will get those added to my mechs!
@Nyghtshade95 The improved should give you night vision, if I'm remembering correctly.
You can speed up animations in the menu settings, as well as hitting the space bar to skip it. Moves things along faster when moving around to evac, or if you have a load of allies. You're learning roguetech quick, getting better every episode! I really like Light Engines, often over IS XL Engines. Not as much weight savings but they are more crit resistant.
Thank you for your feedback. It's comments like these that really helps the learning curve for RogeTech. I unfortunatly got rid of a light engine I wish now I would have kept.
@Nyghtshade95 No big deal, in roguetech there's more than one way to skin a cat.
There is a bug with a few mechs where the secondary ammo from YARW makes the game think you have no weapons if that is the only ammo type on the mech. I have only seen it on the madcat mkii before this video. Last I heard, LittleTex was looking into it. Guess its not fixed yet. At least the weapon still works, just a little annoying haha.
Thank you for letting me know!
When something happens where updating a mod causes you to lose a mech, you can always use the command console or whatever its called to add the mech back into your inventory. I think the command console is f10, or maybe f11, something like that. You can also get weapons/equipment this way as well since the mech will be empty.
Thank you! I will keep that in mind for next time.
There are several melee specialized mechs or ones that have melee quirks. If you can get a few melee weapons, like a decent size sword and a shield, use triple strength myomer if you have it or find it because it will increase your carry weight. Just make sure your mech has hands and can hold melee weapons, put a big engine and maybe a supercharger or hotseat cockpit, and the fill the rest with things like small lasers, flamers, or other close range weapons and just make sure you don’t put any weapons in the arms because you won’t be able to use them with the melee weapons.
Thank you! I will keep my eye for those.
Always check out new planets Hiring Hall when you get there for Ronin pilots or better pilots. The yellow bars under the heat are your stability. When you get past the little white arrow you become un-stabilized and are easier to hit, when it reaches the end your mech falls over causing a pilot injury, vastly lowers your initiative and making you much easier to hit(usually the ai enemies will target that mech exclusively). You are getting a lot of stability by jumping with the Bushwacker. Using Vigilance will lower your stability. X-pulse lasers are exceptionally good beginning to mid games because they innately have +1 accuracy and -1 evasion ignore. Might be good to take the JJs out of the Bushwacker and put that in for more reliable accuracy. Also, for the Hermes might want to move one of the ER Medium lasers from the torso to the available hard point in the arm, because it has a "lower arm actuator" which gives it +1 accuracy. Another thing you can do is cannibalize the Apollo for all the really good equipment inside it until its ready to go again, can't remember what it needs. Taking equipment out costs nothing and takes no days in the mechbay. All of the head components in the Apollo could be beneficial to the Bushwacker, then moving the Sensor Sniper and Improved FCS in the Bushwacker to the Wraith and the Med X-pulses possibly for the Hermes for the accuracy bonuses. Just some food for thought.
That is a lot of good information! Thank you for taking the time. Speaking of the Apollo, it had a 220 engine with 4 hex movement. Do you think a 200 engine with 3 hex movement is to slow if I am going to make a pure LRM boat?
@@Nyghtshade95 No Problem, I've spent probably too much time playing this game lol I think losing a 1 hex movement isn't too bad especially if you are firing from a distance. The more metal on the field the better imo.
@@scottmoore4039 Thank you!
The LRMs blew up because you selected to "Hot Load" them when you changed the that in the Mode selection, there is always a chance for this to happen I think it said 50% chance to Misfire. I tend to never switch over. Inner Sphere LRMs have a minimum range, Clan LRMs do not, that is partially why they are so great.
Yes, very unfortunate! I figured that out after the fact , but lesson learned.
As Torvalis said, morale isn't super important. You will get more negative events if your morale is low, but it's often pretty superficial stuff. What you should note about the monthly budget isn't so much the morale, but the amount of techs that you get that month. Example - If you have 120 days of travel, and all your mechs are repaired and good to go, you can save money by going down to Spartan or Restrictive and having less techs doing nothing. P.S. Always throw the party!!! ^_^
Thank you! I really appreciate all the info. It makes for a better expierence.
Morale isn’t super important at the moment, you will gain some by passing events and there are some mods that will increase resolve during missions, so you can get your specials sooner. Overall I basically ignore it, at least for me it isn’t all that useful or game changing.
Ok cool, that will save me some money then!
Since you were asking for tips in previous videos here's something I noticed in the first battle. You can click on a hex before moving and check your available targets and hit chances before you commit to a move. Don't waste turns if you can help it. You had the front area of the vehicle open (i.e. no more armor, open internals) when you took the Locust for a back strike to his full rear armor. Yes, backstrikes are good if you can get the armor open or it's already open. However this was a wasted turn. We are talking totally optimal but less turns = less damage taken = less mechbay time & cost = more progression. I'm being REALLY nitpicking here but roguetech gets mean. Still enjoying your fresh eyes on the mod!
Dude that is awesome information! I will definitely start checking on that before I move. Do you just left click on the Mech in question to check the armor values?
@Nyghtshade95 My fingers know but my brain doesn't, I'd check but I'm still on the clock unfortunately. I belive you left click on the hex once and then you can still adjust your facing, while you can adjust your facing you mouse over the target without clicking and it displays the hit chance in the weapon menu
You are doing great for just getting the hang of it. It really is a LOT, way more than the base game by maybe 4x or more (in terms of components for the mechs). It will take a long time to figure out what’s good and what isn’t.
To your question as to what reserving does. Basically, it pushes you further back into that turn so you can choose to have your turn come after someone else or at the end. So you can do things like let an enemy make a mistake and put themselves in a better position for you to attack, or just if you don’t have a viable move at that moment and you want them to move a little first. It can also work well if you have a fast mech that get initiative at the beginning of a round, you can reserve it to the end in cover then move in for like a quick sneak attack and then you get the first turn the next round and can use it to retreat or finish them off, etc.
Also, depending on the biome, you can take more or less heat than you expect from the readout. I think biomes with no atmosphere like lunar will give double the normal heat, while like cold environments you will take much less.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Thak you for all the great advice. It really is a fun game and definitely a change from the Mechwarrior 5 I have been playing.
