U cannot have the bass turned all the way up on the fender! I think u adjust the amps till u get THAT sound u like!

Maton was good but compared to the Martin it lacked depth and overall tone. The Martin, once again is heads and shoulders above.

Good video! Thanks for sharing. I’m looking at purchasing the Gen 3 100 head and the Waza 2x12 cabinet. I like the added feature of the 5” practice speaker on the Gen 3 100 head over the artist. But I think the more rounded smoother tone of the Wazas is desirable.

Sounds like the treble was down on the Fender. I have heard other demos of the Blues Jnr 1V and it sounded way better. The Vox lost definition when it was cranked.

I own the AC10 and the 65 Princeton. My two favorite small amps. They sound different. Could not decide between the two. So I bought both. Enjoy your "down under" videos.

The thing of it is, the Marshall JTM-45 set at volume level 3 and 4 sounds very much like 100 watt Marshall Heads at full volume and actually the JTM-45 sounds better. So if you crave the full blown "dimed" Marshall experience but at a volume that you can play at all day every day without damaging your hearing then I very highly recommend the marshall JTM-45. Lastly, the JTM-45 sounds better than any amp I have ever played through or even heard others play trough. It has that inspiring tone that makes me play mine all day-every day. - Peter age 74

I had a Marshall JCM900 MkII which had been hopped up. I played it into a Full Stack of Marshall JCM900 1960A and 1960B 412 cabs on channel 2 using a Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster with every control knob "dimed" - dialed clockwise all the way and stood about 6 foot brom this rig and just slightly off to the right side. It was unbelievable loud in my basement and it shook the entire house, foundation, windows and all! It sounded like I was standing on a beach in Hawaii just as a tidal wave was about to crash over me. Loud! Sadly I had to moved and so I sold everything. BTW I did lose some of my hearing because of that. I played in the same style as Jimi Hendrix and I rode the distortion and sustained notes using the tremolo bar and I could hold one note for over 60 seconds. I know because once I counted and stopped counting at 60. I also play violin and that's why I loved to play sustained notes while moving the tremolo bar up and done to get the most out of each note. Nothing in the world like it. As I said I did lose some hearing. Although that could have been because I also had an Ampeg Classic 300 tube watt Bass head and a 15E cab along with a 410 cab and a 210 bass cab and a Crown 810 bass cab. I got it down to 2 ohms to get the full 300 watts. Upon thinking about it I think the Ampeg 15E was the speaker that did the damage to my hearing because the doctor who did my hearing test said I lost the ability to hear some of the low frequencies. To this day I have trouble understanding human speech. I still have a full stack, the Marshall Origin 50 H with the Full Stack of Origin 412A and B 410 speaker cabs. I am using a Marshall JTM-45 played through my Origin Full Stack. I am also using my new Fender Player Plus Nashville Telecaster with this rig. I do not play above volume setting no. 4 because the JTM-45 gets me the distorted tone even at no. 4 and anything above that is just very loud and will hurt my hearing even more. Also we have two birds in our home and I do not wish to hurt their hearing. I also have a lot of Ampeg amps and cabs to scratch that itch. P..S. I no longer play in Jimi's style nor do I play extremely loud. I am into good tone with a Jazzy feeling.I play every day and night. Only skipping maybe 1 dat per year in the last 2 decades. I am vey happy with my Marshall JTM-45! - Peter age 74

No contest really Martin sounds better than the maton. It’s funny reading the comments as Australians prefer the maton 😂well knock me dead. Keep buying them coz no one else will😂😂

Yep, pains me to say it but the Martin had a much pleasanter sound, more rounded. I attended a Tommy Emmanuel guitar camp in Scotland a few years back. Maton guitars had a stand displaying lots of models. I tried them all, sorry to say I wasn't especially impressed. Just acoustic played on my lap they didn't sound or feel significantly better than the much cheaper guitar I'd taken to the camp....... BUT...... plug one into an amp and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard to imagine an acoustic sounding better plugged in than those Matons.

The difference you're hearing is the extra fartiness of the junior with the bass. And it's much less well defined, the junior is. The vox maintains clarity as you crank it. Can't go wrong with either.

It must have sounded differently in the room. Mic'd up, the Vox clearly sounds better. The Fender sounded kind of muddy. I'm planning on mic'ing the amp, so I'll probably go with the Vox.

Vox 100% cranked. But personally I wouldn't crank a Princeton like that. Its much more suited to those beautiful cleans with the lush spring verb and a hint of tremolo.

I have two matons. A 2018 ebg 808.. it's beautiful..my work horse..the other is a 1981 maton coolabah. I've never played a Martin.. gotta get me one, someday

My Fender Mustang 111 had A Great 59 Fender Bassman setting.Fat n juicy,etc.

I think they're both great instruments in their own right, and they both sound really good. However I do think the comparison is slightly unfair, because the Maton's body is slightly smaller than an OM I believe, and the particular model you played didn't have rosewood back and sides like the OM28 does, it has blackwood instead. Nontheless I think both instruments sounded amazing but they sound very different from each other because of the differences in tonewoods etc.

I own both these amps. Frankly the Origin has a better overall tone despite a smaller speaker. But the DSL has the better overdriven sound for like 80’s rock. The Origin is shockingly loud despite you pointing it is “only a 10” speaker”. Botton line is I love both of these Marshall amps. I use an overdrive pedal and a reverb pedal with the Origin, whereas I use a Tube Screamer and a delay on the DSL.

Sorry but the trend is too high, bass is to low, style just ain't right, noodling is not for this amp. My extreme apologies dude but I was there with Jimi in Jacksonville Fl. Get an old Strat.

Obviously the Martin has a deeper tone closer to a D series but the Maton has the distinct treble and midrange definition you'd want on this scale of guitar. Answer, buy both.

Great review/demo. But why use "juicy" to describe a sound. Imagine if people did that all the time. "That fart sounded juicy. " that sound wouldn't be a good thing. JMO peace

Great comparison, the Martin sounded just slightly more bassier, only slightly but my choice would be the maton, listening through earphones 😊😊😊
