My god how old would that truck be? Any Bedford aficionados know? I mean partition was 1947, this truck has to have been made post partition?

I live in South Wales andthere used to be a vehicle dismantler who bought ex mod Bedfords and sold the parts for export. I have seen him strip the body off a P J K chassis, cut the chassis in half and load the parts into a sea container. When he bought anumber of vehicles at auction they would include the allocated spare parts for that batch of vehicles. I.E 20 Bedford T K s would include 10 engines, 5 gearboxes, 3 rear avles, 3 front axles and assorted spare parts all in M.O.D packaging. I once saw an export agent tell him to take a Bedford 330 crankshaft out of the pa king caze and drop it onto a concrete floor. A ge uine crancshaft would not break whereas an imitation crank would cra ck on the big end webs.

Was a bit disappointed to see them just replacing the crank with a new one. Was expecting some awesome welding! What's the truck hauling? Feathers? Looks like a big fluffy pillow on top!

Tell you what: I have the deepest respect for these guys! Working without a lift mostly „over head“ with none of the high-tech tools we have in the „Western World“ and still able to get that „Oldtimer“ vintage truck running! AWESOME!

You'll see this all over Asia and Africa. Why cant modern manufacturers design a vehicle as simple and rugged as those old Bedfords?

why does this say united states? we all know the u.s. would not tolerate some person taking vehicles apart on any road. this is not u.s.! also dont say, as a matter of fact, this is the way to do anything. this is the way YOU do it, this is how YOU do it. in order for this job to work properly and be a lasting fix a cleaner environment and ceasing to overload and demand more from your equipment than it was designed for.is the most important thing you could do. you need load limits in your country, most of these repairs you make videos of and repaired by you guys would not be necessary.

How many parts did they have to remove to get to the oil pan unobstructed like it is at the beginning?

That's definitely had a few cranks changed in its lifetime. It would be impossible to crack some of those bolts without a impact if it wasn't.

This was incredibly impressive. On the side of the road, no power tools, no gloves, probably 100 degrees. These poor guys probably didn’t make 100 bucks between them. Americans would have quit and went home after complaining for hours. Although installing main bearings with no assembly grease is a no no. So is no antifreeze in a radiator. 😂

Day use what they have in actuality they can fix things with a very little tool that are brave

Changing the transmission oil at regular intervals would've prevented the major damage on the gears. I guess its cheaper to run ut until the gearbox craps the bed.
