Iceland Vlog
A 10-day, scenic, fun-filled trip around Iceland's ring road, captured and threaded into a 9-minute vlog!
Itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive and go to Blue Lagoon. After some much needed relaxation, head to Reykjavik and visit Hallgrimskirkja Church, Harpa Concert Hall, and Tjornin Pond. Stay the night in Reykjavik.
Day 2 (Golden Circle) - Visit Thingvellir National Park to see Oxararfoss waterfall and Peningagja Nikulasargja Gorge. Then drive to Geysir Geothermal Area to see the geysir that erupts every 10 minutes. Next, drive to Gullfoss waterfall and Kerid Crater Lake. Stay at the Selfoss Hostel.
Day 3 - Visit Seljalandsfoss and walk behind the 200 ft waterfall. Next, drive to Skogafoss and hike to the top of the waterfall and beyond for gorgeous views. Then head to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach to see puffins and the Dyrholaey Lighthouse. Lastly, visit the Eldhraun Lava Field to see the moss-covered lava rocks. Stay in a remote Airbnb in Skaftárhreppur.
Day 4 - Head to Fjaorargljufur Canyon for a 1.3 mile hike. Next, visit Hofskirkja Turf Church and the Skaftafell Nature Reserve. Finish the day by driving to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and the famous Diamond Beach where small icebergs wash ashore. Stay in the cute town of Hofn.
Day 5 - Wake up early to beat the crowds to Vestrahorn and get some amazing pictures. Then take the long drive to Seydisfjordur. Do the most beautiful hike ever to Storurd. Finally, walk along the rainbow path in Seydisfjordur to the local church.
Day 6 - Hike to Studlagil Canyon to see the towering basalt columns. Drive to Dettifoss waterfall and also visit Selfoss waterfall. Make a quick stop at the Myvatn Lake for pictures and then finish the day by visiting Godafoss waterfall. Stay in Akureyri.
Day 7 - Long day of driving to Grundarfjörður. Walk down to the bay to take pictures of Kirkjufell mountain.
Day 8 - Drive around Snaefellsness Peninsula National Park to visit Svodufoss waterfall, Saxholl Crater, Djupalonssandur Beach, Londrangar viewpoint, Raudfeldsgja Gorge, Budir Church, and Ytri Tunga Beach to see the seals. Stay in Reykjavik.
Day 9 - Pack up and head home.
