The struggle is real. It's why it's important to understand the miracle of what Christ did on the cross for us. We could never get it right, and many times, it's embarrassing. Thankfully, we have Jesus who understands.

try reading the bible so you can learn about how god meddles with the hearts of man, deceives us for his "will" and creates endless torment for no other purpose but to appease himself. what kind of god creates a being who can sin, who he knows will sin, then punishes them for the seemingly predetermined outcome? the Bible is a book of contradictions, and god is either impotent or enjoys the hell he's created.

Hi 👋 thanks for your comment, you raise some challenging issues, which are good things to wrestle with! let me share a few quick things that might be helpful. as we read the Bible, we see that God created hell specifically for Satan and his demons. It’s the way he will punish them. humans that he has created get to make a choice and if anyone wants to live apart from God, he lets them. People can have what they want. If they want to be with God forever they can. If they don’t, then they won’t. The idea of hell can be an emotionally difficult thing to wrap our minds around, but at its core, it shows that God is a God of justice who cares about evil so much that he will do something serious to deal with it. If the Bible presented God as a big pushover who doesn’t really enact justice on wrongdoers, he wouldn’t be worth following

hey there! 👋 I encourage you to re-think your stance. It’s more logical to assume a powerful, personal force outside of time and space initiated the beginnings of everything, than to assume hydrogen particles collided with each other which eventually turned into a well-oiled machine we call the universe. Where did those first particles come from? matter cannot come from nothing. Something outside our understanding of the physical world had to initiate the beginning of everything. God is a logical and reasonable answer to these questions.

@@Riverchurchnorman The Big Bang Theory is the most widely accepted scientific explanation for the origin of the universe. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the theory and the key stages in the universe's development: ### 1. **The Singularity** The Big Bang Theory starts with a singularity, a point where all the mass, energy, and spacetime of the universe were concentrated in an infinitely small, hot, and dense state. This singularity is beyond our current understanding of physics, as the laws of physics as we know them break down under such extreme conditions. ### 2. **The Big Bang** The term "Big Bang" refers not to an explosion but to the rapid expansion of space itself. About 13.8 billion years ago, the singularity began to expand. This marked the birth of time and space. The energy and matter contained within the singularity started to spread out, and the universe began to cool down as it expanded. ### 3. **Inflationary Epoch (10^-36 to 10^-32 seconds after the Big Bang)** During the first tiny fraction of a second, the universe underwent a period of exponential expansion called cosmic inflation. In this brief moment, the universe expanded from a subatomic scale to a size that was many light-years across. Inflation helps explain why the universe appears so uniform and why regions of the universe are not causally connected (because they were once very close together before inflation pushed them apart). ### 4. **Quark Epoch (10^-12 seconds after the Big Bang)** After inflation ended, the universe continued to expand, but at a much slower rate. The temperature was still extremely high, about 10^15 degrees Kelvin. The universe was filled with a hot, dense plasma of quarks (the fundamental particles that make up protons and neutrons), gluons (which mediate the strong force), and other elementary particles. ### 5. **Hadron Epoch (10^-6 seconds after the Big Bang)** As the universe cooled to about 1 trillion degrees Kelvin, quarks began to combine to form hadrons, including protons and neutrons. This period is called the Hadron Epoch. Anti-matter and matter were present in nearly equal amounts, leading to matter-antimatter annihilation. However, a slight excess of matter over antimatter resulted in the matter that makes up the universe today. ### 6. **Lepton Epoch and Nucleosynthesis (1 second to 3 minutes after the Big Bang)** As the universe cooled further, protons and neutrons began to combine to form simple atomic nuclei in a process known as nucleosynthesis. The main elements formed were hydrogen, helium, and small amounts of lithium. This period lasted for about three minutes after the Big Bang and set the initial chemical composition of the universe. ### 7. **The Photon Epoch (300,000 years after the Big Bang)** For hundreds of thousands of years, the universe was opaque because it was filled with a hot, dense plasma of charged particles (electrons, protons, and nuclei). Photons (particles of light) could not travel freely and were constantly scattered by these charged particles. As the universe expanded and cooled to about 3,000 degrees Kelvin, electrons and protons combined to form neutral hydrogen atoms. This period is known as **recombination**. With fewer free electrons to scatter them, photons could travel more freely, making the universe transparent. The photons released at this time form the **Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB)**, which we can still detect today as a faint glow permeating the entire universe. ### 8. **The Dark Ages and Formation of the First Stars (300,000 to 150 million years after the Big Bang)** After recombination, the universe entered a period known as the "Dark Ages." During this time, there were no stars or galaxies, and the universe was filled mostly with hydrogen and helium gas. Gradually, gravity pulled this gas into denser regions, leading to the formation of the first stars and galaxies. ### 9. **Reionization (150 million to 1 billion years after the Big Bang)** The first stars and galaxies emitted intense radiation, which reionized the hydrogen in the universe, ending the Dark Ages. This process made the universe transparent to ultraviolet light and allowed for the formation of more complex structures like galaxies and galaxy clusters. ### 10. **Formation of Galaxies and Large-Scale Structure (1 billion years to the present)** Over billions of years, galaxies formed from clumps of gas and dark matter. These galaxies grouped into clusters and superclusters under the influence of gravity, creating the large-scale structure of the universe. Stars within these galaxies produced heavier elements through nuclear fusion, which were eventually released into space when the stars died, seeding future generations of stars and planets. ### 11. **Expansion and the Role of Dark Energy** The universe continues to expand today, a fact discovered by Edwin Hubble in the 1920s. Observations of distant supernovae in the late 20th century revealed that this expansion is accelerating, which is attributed to a mysterious force called **dark energy**. Dark energy is believed to make up about 70% of the universe's total energy content, with dark matter comprising about 25%, and ordinary matter (the stuff we see and interact with) making up the remaining 5%. ### 12. **The Fate of the Universe** The ultimate fate of the universe depends on the balance between the rate of expansion and the gravitational pull of all the matter within it. Several scenarios have been proposed: - **The Big Freeze**: If the universe continues to expand forever, it will eventually reach a state where stars burn out, galaxies drift apart, and the universe becomes cold and dark. - **The Big Crunch**: If gravity eventually overcomes the expansion, the universe could reverse and collapse back into a singularity, possibly leading to another Big Bang. - **The Big Rip**: If dark energy's influence grows stronger over time, it could eventually tear apart galaxies, stars, and even atoms, leading to a "Big Rip." The Big Bang Theory is supported by several key pieces of observational evidence, including the cosmic microwave background radiation, the large-scale structure of the universe, and the observed abundance of light elements like hydrogen and helium. However, many aspects, such as the nature of dark matter and dark energy, remain mysterious and are active areas of research in cosmology.

hey there! 👋 thanks for your comment. Please don’t make assumptions about what our church leaders have studied/not studied, and what their background was growing up based on a 60 second clip. This pastor in particular spent half his life in a Buddhist country, and has a deep understanding of the differences between the world religions. Regarding your comment about Jesus being the Son of God AND God - this is a claim that Jesus made himself: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me,is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ The Quran portrays a very different version of Jesus, in that it denies his divinity and that he actually gave his life on a Roman cross. and we actually don’t recommend watching much Fox News as well 😬
