STOP planning DRONE FLIGHTS on RC, DO THIS instead | UgCS review
Yes, more of this, please. Especially on the tree classification deliverables.
What about working for UgCS? Do you hire people with surveying backgrounds that are into drone fotogrammetry and like to get experience with enterprise equipment.
Hi! At the moment, no. You can find our open positions here: www.sphengineering.com/careers
For search and rescue tasks, this mavic 4 is a liability if you can not use it in rain. Offen, we are called to assist people because the weather is bad. I can not believe DJI would have made this drone that has no IP rating. What were they thinking?
Yeah, exactly. Weather resistance is crucial for S&R work. But I suppose that M30T or Autel EVO 4T can be used in those situations. But that of course brings the price point up unfortunately.
Sub! So this thing can measure distance from above and area from point to point? Should I get the one with rain proof?
The Matrice 4 is not rain-proof I'm afraid. For that you'd need to look towards the M30 series but then you lose the mechanical shutter. Rain proof + mechanical shutter would be the M350 with H30.
I'm eagerly waiting for my M4E to be delivered! Finally putting our P4RTK in long term storage. Our M2EA probably won't see much more use as well.
Hi so it measures distance and area from above right?
@@Freep-m2l It can definitely measure distance from above. Whether you can measure an area I'm not so sure, you'd need to double-check this.
No IP rating is a deal breaker for me. Having to wait for optimal weather conditions in order to operate is profit lost in regions prone to variable weather.
Agree, that will be a dealbreaker for many people probably. But then again, its no different than its predecessors, Mavic 3 Enterprise also didnt have an IP rating. For flights in more extreme conditions the M30 and M350 are better for sure. - Kristaps
Whoosh sound every 3 seconds is insane
We might have overdone it a bit :)) Whoooosh
DJI SAYS IT CAN DO MAPPING A LOT FASTER THAN MAVIC 3E AND COVER MORE AREA IN LESS TIME.. IF THAT'S THE CASE THAT COULD BE REAL TIME SAVING
I think the main thing that helps is extended battery capacity. The 0.5s triggering interval only really comes in handy when doing oblique scans, less so for normal mapping.
Really waiting for your 4E review. In theory it should allow to map alot faster thanks to the shutterspeed increase and the way the gimbal rotates.
If you are doing oblique scanning, the 5-way gimbal rotation is definitely a welcome improvement. But for normal ortho mapping 0.5s vs 0.7s won`t give that significant of a difference in real life scenarios. But it does come with other nice things as well such as in-built RTK, longer flight time and larger controller.
@ thats correct. Are there any realworld range differences between the 3e and 4? Or in EU thanks to the CE frequency theres not. Mainly in heavy forest areas.
It's always the Europeans to comply with the government.
I used it recently for a building inspection. I was able to capture a high-resolution 3D model, and my client was very happy with it. Circlegrammetry mission helped me do a great job. Thank you.
I have the Autel 3vo ii pro vs3 an the Evo lite 640 thermal can UGCs work with these drones? they have the SE controller
Hi! Thanks for the question! Could you please email us at support@ugcs.com? Our colleagues will be able to help you there better with this question.
As always, thank you. I have slow internet. Use small maps, fewer pictures for quicker processing times for Search and Rescue. Prefer UgCS and DJI M30T. Mainly due to buying the M30T during Beta testing. Mission times 30 minutes, DEM/DSM, Fastest import of 1 meter arc maps mountainous terrain up to 30 acres. Real time transfer of photos/video too 30 inch monitor for observation. User friendly Object Detection Bounding Box Yolov5 or equivalent. Autonomous and Manual Flight. Turnkey Software-Fast, Efficient, 90% or higher accuracy, Resolution 3. Priority finding People lost or injured. Not detailed oriented. Operation is 1-2 person, volunteer based. Can you offer suggestions? 35 year retired airline pilot. Checklist and SOP’s kind of Guy. One nickname of Monkey from first instructor that stuck with me. I was Instructor Pilot in training as well. Winding down my usefulness. Thanks. Randall
Hi! Thank you so much for choosing UgCS for your professional flights. If you could just email us at support@ugcs.com our colleagues from support team will be more than glad to help you further with this question.
Can you adjust the gain to stop the drift once dropping the stick?
Good morning. Excellent job. Always enjoy your video. I will try it. Flew a mission two days ago with M30T, flight time 32 minutes scheduled. Completed 96%, landed with 18% battery. Need review of your video on import arc1 into UgCS DJI M30 RC. Also not consistent with exports from laptop. It's operator error not UgCS. Thank you.
Just so I'm understanding you correctly, if a new, recreational flyer, flys his drone to high, or over a factory or some buildings downtown somewhere, (not like a military base or something), and even though he never registered his drone, you're saying he's just fucked, right? I don't understand the broad scope you seem to be trying to address.
Do not comply!
Thank you for being professional. Aviation is safer and more enjoyable when preflight planning is done on the ground. Maintenance performed. SOP’s used. Common sense.
No problem with ID. TCAS in aviation great tool for safety. Recurrent training, maintenance, checklists, improves safety. Common sense, take your time. Check the weather. Know the rules, familiar where you fly. Thank you UgCS
Oooo tnx
Don't be too confident - the same as for car drivers, it's really true! Thank you, guys, for the useful video.
N!CE review! Loved it When we flight heli we try to use 2 fingers in each stick it will improve your control. Best Regards
I hope it will be released in Japan
Hello, I would like to know if this tool can be used or if it has been tested with LiDAR to achieve better canopy penetration.
Hello! Thanks for this interesting question, but no, we haven't tested this feature with LiDAR yet, although we might do that in future and possibly record a separate video on that ;)
I mean this is just amazing. Can you assign each tree a geolocation and can you export DBH. Also, how does the DBH compare? This and crown size and tree height is essential for any carbon project... Most standards currently recommend old school ground survey. This seems to make much more sense.
Hi! Thanks for question. Unfortunately, we don't support DBH. Although you can upload KML file with location of the trees or 3D models in KMZ
Can Metashape handle this?
Yes, we used Metashape as main processing tool for Circlegrammetry datasets.
@@ugcs_official Thank you for letting me know.
Unless they make it mandatory for manufacturers to require remote ID and completely ban any drone that doesn't have remote ID. It is not going to stop criminals the who don't follow the law anyway from doing something malicious with a drone
Well, there's a level of intent that has to be there I'm sure. Most new flyers don't have a clue what the rules are anyway.
Can your SW be used with Mavic 3 Pro? With or without additional hardware? RC Pro remote.
Hi! Mavic 3 Pro is not supported in DJI MSDK5 unfortunately so we cannot support it currently.
We'll see how well this works on a 67 acre industrial site next week. Double grid stats was a photo every 59', this method produces a photo every 52'.
That sounds like a great test for it! Curious to hear about the results. Mind if I drop you a PM? - Kristaps
This is a really interesting idea!! Very curious how it compares in different situations and environments!
Glad you liked it! 😉
This isn't a 1st
To funny, DATUMATE had a POI 360 degree flight pattern as a circle with camera angle pointed towards the areas that were missed with 90 degree camera angle....old school
Remote ID? I strap a copy of the “Bill of Rights” to my quad, and I’m good to go! Sooooooooooooooooooo Kool!
Excellent video!
Dumb rules for dummys. i fly my drone all the time and will continue to and i dare you little freak come try stop me.
If you're doing "research" ... and build your own you don't need to have remote id
Not actively collecting 🤡🤡🤡
The apps collect the data to their centralized location, this way the government doesn't have to do it.
so you have to give up your privacy in the name of safety
Trust me... You don't need to know this unless you're trying to start a drone business in California or New York. Build it, rip it, break it, fix it, repeat. Don't be a tool by flying in crowded areas; you'll be fine.
Not going to use it
Right? Like, why? I get it if you're sending a $40k Blackmagic rig down 5th Avenue for Jerry Bruckheimer, but 99.9% of us just don't need it. Google already knows everything we're doing... Is the FAA jealous or something? Why TF would I put something in my rig that will only serve to get me in trouble? Reminds me of people taking the 107 when they have zero intention of starting a business using a drone. Like, WHY? You just locked yourself into following a whole bunch of rules that the rest of us can just claim ignorance of. There are only a few rules FPV pilots need to follow: 1 - Don't fly where a mistake could hurt someone. 2 - Don't fly near where manned aircraft hang out. 3 - Don't be a dick. The FAA doesn't need to know when I'm flying 25' above a corn field or in my back yard. They just don't.
Why are you shilling for the state
