Do you add a protected coat has mine are scratch
@@suzannegingras7528 Yes, I use satin polycrylic. 2 coats. But my paint never scratches off even without it. If you skipped any steps of the prep work before painting or used an all in one paint that may be where your issue is coming from.

@@dimplesp4046 if you have a measuring tape, drill and miter saw you can totally do it. A nail gun would be nice too but I did mine without one. Go for it!

@@LedgerAndLace I could not find any pillows that were the perfect color to match my couch so when I saw those placemats on clearance...I said "placemats it is!" 😂 I have never heard that phrase "form follows function" but it really does suit me. Thanks so much for your kind comment!

Hello Ebonee, thank you for sharing your home with us. Wow! You are so talented. Your projects are not just functional but also stylish and they fit your home decor style. Great job all around. Here in Miami, where I live, by big "go to" is yard sales. I have found many super inexpensive things at yard sales. Salvation army and goodwill stores are the next places I go to. And, if I am impatient, I will look online. I have also found furniture on the side of the road for free. Whatever we want, if we are patient manifests itself and/or can be built. Keep up the great work. You look amazing! God bless you.
Hey there! Thanks so much! I love thrifting too but since I work full time and spend my free time trying to get projects and videos done unfortunately I don’t make it to the stores like I used to so I have fallen deeply in love with facebook marketplace lol I live in a neighborhood with lots of old homes so the side of the road has also been veryyy kind to me too! God only gave me 1% patience but he gave me 99% cheapness so…he made sure I keep busy building stuff that I refuse to pay contractors to do lol Thanks for your comment! God bless!

Please, as a minimum, use a mask when using spray paint cans... even if is just a very short 2s spray. On another point, the level of humidity will play a lot in how it looks in the end, do some tests before doing it in the final piece.

What was the handles you used? Do I need to drill a hole in the cabinet to attach?
@@dawnmariebeauregard2131 cheap ones from Amazon. Yes, you have to drill a hole. You can buy a cheap template off Amazon to line the holes up easily.

Don't use a foam brush with the stripper because it deteriorates the brush. Use a regular brush. You can also put plastic over the atripper.
@@veronicam.hernandez5351 Doesn't matter if it ruins the brush if I'm using it for a few mins then throwing it away. No need to use plastic over stripper if it's not drying out & you are literally standing there waiting to scrape it. I hope you found something to enjoy about the video. Thanks for watching.

Hi Ebonee I just watched this video. I have one just like this and been planning on transforming it the same way you just did. I haven’t gotten up the nerve to do it since this will be my first time even doing projects like this. I have a lot of projects in the waiting. I would love you input and advice on this. I have the paint already but it is white matte. I really need to get black since I will be painting my walls white and mantel black.
@@tracysrhythmiclife Hello! The Waverly chalk paint at Walmart is a great starter chalk paint. If this is your first project, I'd definitely start with that and a paint roller. If you look at my older videos, that is how I started. There is less expense and less prep work with chalk paint. Good luck!

There is another flipper that did the same up until the paint wash, then she used a medium stain on top of that and it brought out the grain without darkening it much.
