I just bought a 2024 Model Y Performance with only 1050 miles I was thinking the I made the wrong choice and was planning to upgrade to the Model X long range and this video help me make the right choice and keep my Model Y Performance. I agree extra 40k for the X isn't worth it! thanks.

How did you make front bunper black?

Like it a lot but the only negative thing is the button to open the door from inside. Please considering of mechanical release.

I don’t see the wine red listed anymore, so you know if that is discontinued? There is only a red option which seems a bit flashy/bright and not dark like wine red.

Great coverage! I reserved mine right after RJ rolled it out, during the reveal event in Irvine, so I’m also one of the first 68,000 and can’t wait for 2026, either! A couple of things…Kyle, of Out of Spec Reviews, was at the recent event in Normal, IL, and spoke with RJ and engineers, who said there WILL BE A REAR WIPER and they may reconsider the charging port location on the passenger side, possibly moving it to the driver’s side. RJ spoke about the need for it to be in the rear, to keep the power load close to the plug, but it could be on either side. The original concern was for European street side charging, but it seems they’re reconsidering, due to customer reactions.

We have owned two Y's since 2020 and are considering upgrading to the X LR after the next minor update i.e. front camera and ambient lighting. Today in the US after the $7500 tax credit an X LR can be purchased for $72,500 about $18K more. And the 0 to 60 is almost IDENTICAL because Tesla claims the YP is rated with a "1-foot roll-out" and the X LR without. So the MYP is closer to 3.7 in REAL life. That extra 56 miles of range is attractive for us road warriors.

Please do not use cleaner's, of any kind, on the touch screen's. This applies to ALL screens today ,such as OLED, LCD, tablet's, etc. Otherwise great video, I also use chemical guys on all my cars.

Great video but terrible value considering the way the seat covers are installed compared to other brands at a fraction of the cost. I just bought and installed a set that look better (imo - same wine red) and they fully cover the rear armrest cupholder, even when it is down (just an example of fit/coverage difference). Looks great, just some tips: Offset like you say is how far it protrudes, but you have to consider that this number really tells you how far off the centre of the rim, it mates to your hub. So how far it goes outward is very relevant to the rim width also, and this number is in millimeters. ET0 would mean dead center, ET10 means 10mm outwards. But since its about mating surface, the width of the rim is very important too, same with tire size. THe profile of the tire is as you say height of the tire, but this is a percentage number. 50 profile means 50% and that is then 50% of the tires width, so lets say you have: 205mm wide tire, 50 profile, it is then 10.25cm tall rubber. So often if you go from 20" to 19", you need to go up one level in profile to match outer diameter of wheel. Like 235/35-20=>235/40-19=>235/45-18. But if you go to a wider tire, since the profile (tire height) is % of the tire width, you then really have to calculate it to not get a too large dia diameter. In some countries it is legal to go +-5%, but not all cars can handle the clearance.

Hi, a quick question. I’m considering the 255/50r19 tires you mention, but I haven’t found one who says that the 50 tires match the MYP as the tire total will be larger than the 21” über turbine, leaving hardly any space for rub issues. Could you please comment on this? Thanks, really appreciate!

Hi I was wondering they have a set of seat covers also for $379 is there a big difference between the $579 version ?

Tire height is actually a ratio. 275x45 means 275*0.45=124mm. 265x50 is 265*0.5=132mm wall height. The total height (so wall height times two, plus rim size in mm) for the 275x45 tire is 730mm and 748mm for the 265x50 one. So on the 265 tires, the car will be 9mm taller, and the tire will be 9mm closer to the wheel arch.

Awesome video! How did you configure tesla SW for the new wheels and tires? Tesla told me that if you set it to 19" in the service wheels setup, that is defaulting to the OEM 225-45-R19. I did exactly what you did. Same wheels and tires, so no way to tell it 275-45-R19. If you look at the revs/mile, the conversion factor is off. Tesla said no way to account for this.....yet. what did you do?

Important to note the sidewall height isn't the number on the tire. It's the number on the tire divided by the width of the tire.

I can see the door open feature being great for a few reasons but here are two that I find most beneficial. I currently drop my kids to school. Each morning there is a drop off lane where teachers & staff assist with helping kids get out of the car with their bookbags. Based on your position in line you frequently run into some staff that have no clue how to open the door. My two girls also are not the strongest kids in the world so I've currently been leaning back from the driver's seat, stretching across to press that open button. Yeah, it's quite the awkward task. I do this mainly because I don't want to hold up the line😅 and also don't want anyone scratching up my doors with their rings in attempt to open. The second reason similar to the first. 1st time passengers are lost on how to open the door. So I'd consider naming the new door feature the "New Passenger Door Assist Button." Love this feature and can't wait to add to both my MYs.

The door open function is.... Interesting but mostly wasteful of the button? All I can think is that it makes it easy to open a door for non-Tesla familiar passengers who get confused? Cool product though. Thanks for sharing!

I was going to order the 3D Maxpider Mats but after looking at your review I will take a leap of faith and order these mats which are about 1/3 the price even at the current rate of $159 minus a $10 Coupon for a total of $149 plus tax. That is still pretty darn good.
