I’d forgotten how bad Eastenders was even in the early days. Such hammy acting and silly story lines.

His running away was a weak story arc. There was no rhyme or reason for it but the writers avenged the actor by sidelining him because he wouldn’t play a “racist”. The story of him running away was just sad but illogical.
