Nice
👍😁👋
Spooky!
This video that I have never seen when I was 5 years old :v
did you used to be a engineer at crossroads village?
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 America
first video in 10 years on your channel...
What a comeback!
First viewer!
Yes , wat a beauty
The 1950s hopper cars are a nice touch. Sad this guy doesn't upload anymore! hope he's doing alright.
wurlitzer157 is that artizan out of tune
That is one lonesome whistle. whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
almost ghost like
Wtf when was this thing on the Huckleberry Railroad?
Ooooooooooh wait that's the one on display!!!
It's not on display. It is being rebuilt in the shop. The engine on display is a 2-8-0. This is a Ten Wheeler
She is coming out tomorrow. They are doubleheading her with 464
Lol thanks, I've heard more whistles since then, and am a bit better at this. Still surprising a bit though that it's a NYC, sounds like D&RGW. Wow, thats cool! Engineer and has his own whistle on it? Lucky guy! :)
It is an NYC 5! I was the fireman when this vid was shot and have seen that whislte many times. cplerrguy is now an engineer at Huck and HIS personal D&RGW 5-chime is on 464!
Excellent video here. The Carson & Colorado, orig. a Virginia & Truckee subsidiary, used 4-4-0 Baldwins for combined service, before the Southern Pacific replaced them with 4-6-0's; these, as well as the 4-6-2 this vid, all use driving wheels that would be consistent with standard-gauge freight locomotives.
my grandson likes train really great train and video dh
@brp12000 EXACTLY! I hate the stereotype of carousels being kiddie rides.
i herd there were only 12 Rio Grande narrow gauge made? p.s. cool video
It's Holiday lights... 8-)
Your all wrong! I have herd recordings of NYC and CN 6 and 5 chime whistles, your close, but that is definitly a D&RGW whistle!
That train is quite a vision and should be named "The Christmas Spirit", what do you think? Thanks for the great video! ~Vis~
@Chris9017 No, I don't think Henry Ford would care for the village itself since they re-did it, I don't mind the Edison so much, I've gotten used to it, but they actually tried to make the torch lake look older with the same type, if not the same stack the Edison had for awhile and a huge red Cow-Catcher not to mention a crazy paint job and brass. When the Edison was built, it actually looked like a civil war era Mason locomotive with the huge balloon stack and a very ornate cab.
@SantaFe158 Yep, and she is the more beautiful of the 2 locomotives. Edison lost some of her beauty when they pulled off her diamond stack, switched her cab to a steel, took away her box headlight, and placed a turbine generator in front of the her stack. I don't Think Henry Ford would think much of her appearence today. Torchlake hasn't changed in years, and that is why she is still the more beautiful of the 2 engines.
man I like the CP&LE RR.! this is my favorite crossing to watch them from when I go to Cedar Point!
Excellent video.
I've been on this train before, not at Christmas but during the summertime.
thats one helluva a load and ol 464 pulled it with out breaking a sweat.
Nice train
Did I hear that HRR went to oil? Anybody know?
Reminds me of back to the future...
What type of whistle is that?
They should put this whistle on 464, it sounds more like the Rio Grande whistles.
sorry to put out a negative comment towards this loco. she isnt beautiful in my mind. i find the maine 2fters and D&RDW engines more attractive
You're weird looking. But we keep that to ourselves.
Is that a EBT hopper?
Thanks a lot.....
well this locomotive was originally made for a narrow gauge track of 24" or 36", but when this museum acquired it they converted it to standard gauge to operate on their tracks. That is why it looks a rugged.
Correction, it's a beautiful locomotive.
having a train run through a golf course would make it more interesting I think. You'd have to hit the ball over the train!
THATS A WEIRD LOOKEN LOCO
Very nice. i've only heard the MD repro's, and one or two originals on vintage films that I wasn't sure of the authenticity of, i.e. the sound may have been dubbed over. I'm guessing on he Central's big, modern power, the sound may have been slightly higher pitched since the boiler pressure was higher, correct?
New York Central 6-chime?
Were is this?
I love this train!
5 Stars!
An amazing train! 5 stars!
ive been there, ive only been there on halloween though and its very nice, how is it at christmas
