Bisti Badlands - another planet
#Bistibadlands #newmexico #navajonation #farmington
In far northwestern New Mexico, 40 miles south of the town of Farmington, you can find a very special area, in the middle of the New Mexican part of Navajo Nation. Look on Google Earth and you will see that this area is strangely different from its surroundings. What on earth is there to see there? We went exploring and soon we were wandering through the Bisti Badlands. Like walking around on another planet ...! Experience what we experienced: amazement and wonder.

From the river, a beautiful hiking trail runs deep into the canyon. The hike is crowned with views of an old 17th century Navajo observation post. The Navajo Indian who manned this post was to give ea...

American Civil War: Battle of Antietam

What does the average Dutchman know about the American Civil War? Not that much. Perhaps older people have seen the 1985 mini-series North and South based on John Jakes' best-selling trilogy. I had never heard of Antietam, of Gettysburg, until my American brother-in-law told me about those places and I wanted to see the battlefields with my own eyes. That was the beginning of this video about t...
American Civil War - Harpers Ferry

The American Civil War was a dark period in the history of the United States. As a Dutchman I walked across three battlefields of that time - Harpers Ferry, Antietam and Gettysburg. And I was bewildered about the ease with which lives were sacrificed. And for what? Indeed, slavery ended in the United States. But reunification never became only in name a reality. In essence, many Americans say t...

Dank je!
I live in Oldenburg Germany and Groningen is only 1 hour drive from here, often visit this magnificent city.
A beautiful drive, recommended to all. I came to NM at 28 y.o. in 1974. It was the best decision of my life.
Anthony van Leeuwehoek is not the discoverer but the inventor of the microscope !
Nice tour but missed Peñasco and Ranchos de Taos, both with places worth stopping for.
@@peterb.559 this September I'm again in the Taos region. I will go and discover the villages you mentioned.
@@arieverhoef1520 Best time to go through Peñasco is between 10 and 3 on Sunday so you can get homemade scones and jam with your brunch at Sugar Nymphs Bistro.
TAOS NEVER WAS WHAT IT USED TO BE.
Can you explain that to me?
Zonde, hoor. Zo'n fort is verschrikkelijk. Interessant.
Beste @voornaam3191, dank voor je feedback. Die neem ik ter harte. In mijn eerstvolgende video zal ik veel meer, bijna uitsluitend omgevingsgeluid laten horen.
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Thanks for a lovely video!

reality of the city is different
It's a pity that the city is ruled by xenophobia and brutality
The true face of racism and xenophobia in the Dutch Alkmar. What it looked like from the recorded videos and not from the chaff pumped to you. Watch from 9:28, English subtitles available scandal after the end of the az alkmaar vs legia warsaw match. Het ware gezicht van racisme en vreemdelingenhaat in het Nederlandse Alkmar. alkmaar turns out to be mostly populated by nazi scum. polish soldiers liberated big chunks of netherlands in 1944 but it appears that nazis are still here and they speak dutch. shame on you 5.10.23
Nice review, I stay in Las Cruces when heading west from south Texas, the Mesilla area has excellent restaurants. The east side of the Organ mountains is pretty too.

Alkmaar is a dangerous city. There were 8 bomb attacks in one month.
Hello Magda, thank you for your reaction. As far as I know there were some bomb attacks in 2017. But I never experienced this city as an unsafe area.

Please do not visit this city and do not give them any business. Its a little town with racist Mayor. She openly stated, no Poles here , I do not want them in my city . Local football team AZ does not belong to UEFA competition. It is Police ruled town with close minded Mayor.
I understand you are very disappointed in the football match. But my video is only about the buildings, canals and streets. No political message in it.
I also think this town is a shithole!

I live here in Groningen and the video is very well done. But you didn't go to the suburbs. Reitdiephaven is a world famous small boat harbor and there are still many things that you have not shown. (I don't intend to criticize the video, because maybe you didn't know about them) but there is also a cozy restaurant that is worth trying in the harbor. But the like went. :)
I have to visit this city again, focussing on the suburbs!
