Laser Engraver vs. Traditional Branding Iron: The Ultimate Showdown for Woodworkers!
มุมมอง 4.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Curious about the best way to add your personal touch to woodworking projects? In this video, I compare the classic branding iron with the modern laser engraver to see which one reigns supreme! Whether you’re looking for the rustic charm of a traditional branding iron or the precision and versatility of a laser engraver, I’ll break down the pros and cons of each. From setup to final results, th...

Bought some drills bits from Temu and 1st go it came apart as they were not once piece. My favourites are a $37 set of forstner bits that are remarkably good. There is a lot of terrible stuff and surprisingly some good stuff. Get what you pay for. Can I suggest that when you do these videos that you try the items out beforehand so you know how they work and not waste your time unpacking and trying to work out how to use them and have wood ready to use or set up. Creates a better atmosphere and people will watch longer. Just my opinion. I like you having a go and some fun and singing silly songs - that's me. Well done Jesse.😉
I don’t have a wood setting on my iron, what would you recommend?
MAX
Tell him what? What do you want me to tell difference? Want me to say hi to him for you?
Hi with the dowel jig you need to use a faster drill and it doesn't matter what timber you use if it's cutting ruff you need to push slowly ,or the blade is a little blunt. With the plug bits you need a pedestal drill to be more effective. Thanks
Maybe the dowel bits are meant for a drill press?
So wrong. Fix it right…
It’s a good fix for a drilled out hole.
@@JesseNardoneYeah, maybe for a gorilla nest.
seeing american "walls" as a german is crazy 😂
Whoever built the original wall was LaZy
No c channel. The siding will bow
maybe so
I want to try and add a window to room like this would be perfect
Make sure you frame the wall on the inside!
Pretty window. 😊
Well tbh this video doesn't really show how to do it really just shows parts of you doing it
That’s correct. I’d recommend a full length video and not a short if you really need guidance on how to do it. I can tell you, we did it in under an hour.
I mean it's not a tutorial
@@user-ty6we2sp2m the title said how to before they changed it so ...
Ain’t no ‘how to’ on a 15 second video. If only I could teach that quickly
Ok, it's a pair of hands, bath-varnishing wood pieces, fast forward. But hey, WHAT ARE THESE objects ?
They are wine serving paddles. A wine tasting room uses them in Hendersonville, NC. Let me know if you have more questions :)
@@JesseNardone - OK, thanks. It's amazing how typing just three unprobable words, like *_"wine serving paddles"_* to a search engine, and then clicking [images], opens an unknown part of the World ! 🤓 Interesting !! I'll try with three other random words, 😉 just for fun ! Again, thank you for your answer. 👍
The more you know haha
I thought it would be the same colors 😅😅😅
Love comes in all colors ;)
😅😅
Too bad I have that spokeshave works great I have the tsquare 2 of them accurate once you get deeper in your woodworking you will love metric measurements
Very nice......
Thank you! Cheers!
Laser all the way 😅
There's another advantage to using the laser, consistency. I'm sure you can get really good results with a branding iron after some practice, but if it's not a regular thing that you do you will probably be out of practice pretty soon. And it's probably easy to screw up your project that way :) With regards to time I think only the setup time really matters when it comes to the laser... it's like having a dishwashing machine, it will be slower than manually dishwashing, but while it's dishwashing you can do other stuff.
Best part of the laser is that I can change the size of the logo to not be overwhelming large on a small piece! The laser is my best worker and it works for free! Thank you for your input!
Very well done, I learned a lot
Sand down both ends of the wood so they fit in your drill and in the slot. The rest of the piece can be square. After your done and before you take it out of your still get apiece off sand paper and rap it around the dowel then run your gun. Hope that helps
Some epoxy creations are definitely works of art. This one, however, is hideous. It looks like a slab of plastic with raw meat embedded into it. The plastic greatly overshadows whatever beauty may have been in the piece of wood. Indeed, the wood itself is adjunct to the plastic. To be real, the guy should have been spinning a bowl of tinted epoxy that suddenly transformed into the ... whatever that is, either a a cutting board or a paddle?
You sound like you are so fun at parties. 🎉 thanks for the algorithm bump 😂
@@JesseNardone No need to be testy. When you posted this you knew that it wouldn't be to everyone's taste and by posting it you invited comments from everyone. It wasn't personal. While I disagree in earnest with your design choices, I appreciate that you actually make something, rather than a lot of the other TH-cam blather. I hope this reply also gives you an algorithm bump.
I’m the first to see this
Yeah I tried to watch this and you have no idea, I can admit I have no idea half the time, but to pretend you have an Idea while having no idea makes this a rough watch.
what am i supposed to be looking at
Tool display
Dude just go get a job as a chippy labourer or find a woodworking mentor
Drilling the wrong direction!
Never use super glue on molds put some table top epoxy first then put your wood to secure it
The mold didn’t mess up on its own you were the culprit
LOL
I wouldn't say that jointer is a luxury tool compared to a ten thousand dollar jointer.
They all suck. They are all off and I could do a better chamfer with my 62cc chainsaw
You mentioned a Set square and a T-Square and got the names totally screwed. You concentrated on increment accuracy instead of their main use. The draw line ruler is a 3deg square.... Don't be super lazy do some research before putting us through your "its my fault because I don't know how to use it" etc etc etc. Didn't subscribe. Because I won't be back.........
Do you have a full video of this?
I do not, but there are plenty of other people who explain it!
Superglue gets really hot as it cures, chances are you scorched the silicone
Nice! What's the inlay material?
I have been a carpenter, and a cabinet maker, for over 60 years, and my best advice to you is, learn what the tool was intended for, and how to use the tools before you try to demonstrate them. Sadly this video was like watching a Monkey give driving lesson's!
The only thing that has a good quality from China are viruses LOL
First, don't quit your day job. I can't remember when I've seen such a poorly presented review. I have bought tools from Temu and found all of them to be useful. They are cheap, and as a consequence their longevity is questionable. The worst thing about the tools is the packaging they arrive in and poorly written user manuals. All in all, you get what you pay for.
SO! Basically, you bought junk because you know crap about wooding tools and how they are used!
Same mold from temu… on a website is about $175… I got a few molds from temu all good quality
Please learn how to use a plug cutter before you try to review it. You should watch tool reviews, not make them
Mate you don’t have a clue what you’re doing. Going to avoid your videos in the future.
Are you for real?? Imprecise precision ruler RECOMMENDED??? chamfer plane that leaves wood looking like a beaver has chewed it. RECOMMENDED??? You are an idiot
Based on the extreme lack of woodworking tool knowledge, and the apparent lack of reading comprehension you exhibit in this video, I'm amazed that you have 1.9k subscribers - - precision square with precision scribing guides <> speed square - t-square with precision scribing guides <> a drywall square - miter saddle square <> speed square - metric ruler <> imperial ruler - 3-3/4"x6-1/4" <> whatever you imagined it would be (I'll leave the size jokes to others)
4 plug cutters for $4 is never going to be worth your time, even if you used a drill press
Haha, you're a moron, those all look fine, you got what you paid for - maybe check the description for sizes. The spokeshave is standard, you replace the blades rather than sharpen them. I have two that are exactly the same design - one Stanley and another non branded from Amazon - both work identically with a new blade and are fine for my extremely fine carpentry (I'm a luthier).
You say temu, I say thumbs down.
Plug cutters honestly they are rubbish well so far the miter gauge not either and price is to expensive for the quality sorry amigo I say hello from London just search between ali Temu and banggod you be surprised the different things you find a good price is a war between them believe me good luck 👌👍
Temu uses malware and spyware to collect user data beyond what's necessary for an online shopping app, if you use it then use a burner phone with no personal data and a prepaid card, better yet don't use it and support your local economy not a communist regime that thrives by stealing the intellectual property of others.
Make yourself a bench hook.
the music is really annoying.
