a hold lot less music and more explaining what your doing would be great, like the sound of hammers, saws and what your thinking as you build.

2X4 WOOD FOR THE WALLS TO STRAIGHTEN ALSO THOSE ARE KNOWN AS FORM CAGES IN THE CENTER. THE STRINGS ARE FOR THE STRAIGHTNESS OF THE HOUSE NOT SQUARING THEY PULL TAPES FOR SQUARING.
Nice work!!
@@sarahhope4794 thanks !!!😊
Nice I was wondering why you were doing this but you answered at the end (for the sump pump) got it
What kind of company stakes that? Who do I have to hire once I have the plan?
@@sarahhope4794 you need to hire a construction engineering company to come out and stake out the house. They will take some measurements and 🤞 place the house in the correct spot. As I’m sure you saw in the video, we didn’t have such luck and had to have it moved right before excavation began. It’s usually about $500.
Got it
So what kind of contractor did you have to hire for this? A concrete contractor will look at the drawings, make the frames and pour the concrete or does this require different types of contractors?
@@sarahhope4794 for the foundation , I hired one contractor. After we excavated , they came and set form, poured footers, returned to set and pour walls a few weeks later. I have the wall video and new floor video posted as well. I hired someone else for the floor.
Nice to see how this work s done.
@@dianacunningham6984 thank you !😊
What do you guys think?? How much concrete did we pour today?
❤
@@jennifergrzeskowiak2873❤🎉😅
Hey guys just hopefully a non-offensive suggestion... You should consider making 2-3 min time-lapse videos of your work for people who don't really need an explanation.just personally, I love watching construction videos but I don't necessarily have the time to watch a video more than 3 minutes and a time lapse video I would definitely watch in full instead of skipping to the work parts.
@@derrickpeterson6309 Thank you for the suggestion! And thank you for watching !
You should check your audio and reupload your video
Thanks for your comment! The reason why the video sounds this way is simply due to the Highwinds that we were having that day. we used noise reduction when editing and this is the result. Unfortunately the weather can be unpredictable during construction!
Thank you!
@@conniethielking3549 thank you for watching ! ❣️ we have more videos on our channel for concrete !!
The worst thing to use is draintile with a sock. It is a great filter that you can't clean when it is too late.
@@DanBurandt thanks for your comment, we chose this sock due to the very fine Sandy Loam soil that is here. All of the exterior drain tile has filter fabric over top as well- Also, where we live is the top of the Niagara Escarpment, which is mostly bedrock and stone, about 200 feet from me is a very steep drop off, we don’t have much issue with water up here. Even with all the rain we had we did not get much in the foundation and it’s open. Hopefully it holds up!
Looking good!
I had the same Delta MS system installed on about half of my foundation wall by a local company. After a lot of research, it seemed to be a good system and I was lucky enough to find a local company that used it. That was 4 years ago and no issues to date. One thing I recall is asking the installers why they didn't drape the delta membrane over the footer. I believe that was the instruction in the official Delta installation manual. The response I got if I remember correctly was that the method was for new construction. That didn't make much sense to me as to why that would the case for new construction only and not existing homes.
@@delt19 thank you for your comments! The official Delta installation manual has two different methods of installation. The first method is to drape over the footer, and the second is to have it flush against the wall. We draped where soil was present and did the flat installation where stone was backfilled in (porches and garages) Delta recommends best practice to drape over the footer. For installation, I found it easier to install it flat against the wall , draping causes minor handling and trimming issues in the corners. I suspect they may have opted to install it flat to save time, however, either way is allowable.
Let me know if you have any questions!!!! 😊
If the house will have a cement floor slab all the way around should i still install water passage tubes into the foundation?
Are you talking about a crawlspace foundation like I have? Or do you mean a slab on grade? If a slab, then no. Any place that you have soil against your foundation wall, there should be a weep tube. We are actually going to be posting a video about basement drainage too - Feel free to check out our profile we have a French drain video which shows our basement drainage set up as well as a sump pump that shows the installation of the sump well.
Bro turn that gid forsaken music off for the love of God

The corner rebar should be curved sections with a 20" overlap, maybe more depending on bar size.
@@jimr4566 yes sir, the corner pieces are indeed curved and do overlap. They are also tied together with metal ties. Thank you for watching!
Why is soil left in the one area?
@@jimr4566 unexcavated soil is left in the garage and porch areas. Since it’s not disturbed, it is still compacted and we can backfill stone over it, for the concrete porch and garage floor. Just had them filled with 140 ton of clean 2’s today 👍
nice work cowboys🙏💕
Thank you 🙌
the extra concrete looked very dry. did you make the calculations or was it done by a contractor?
We hired the foundation and footer install.

Beautiful party kids. It's so exciting to see.
How do I know if my house is placed in the correct spot? Is there something on the plan that would show me where exactly it is supposed to be?
Hey Mark, typically your home is placed in line with the other homes on the street. that’s usually building code. That’s how I knew where to set back the house. Originally when they staked it, it was in the wrong spot almost 15 feet off from where it needed to be. If you are building a house on a plot of land with no neighbors, it’s usually your choice and is outlined on the front of the plan. Sometimes require that they know placement on your plan before applying for permit. The reason is, to account for drainage.
😂 it’s really sad to see the pretty grass go away
I know ! I watched this video and can’t believe it’s only a month old
I always wondered how they did this so quickly. Did you have to spread it out by hand much ? How hard was it to handle ?
We just spent the past day leveling the stone that they slung in this foundation. Overfilled a little bit!
Excellent info ! Thanks for sharing this. Are these poured concrete walls - do you know how much concrete it will take for your plan ? 😅
@@MarkJankowski-jw4yl the foundation ended up taking 37 yards of concrete. These are indeed poured concrete walls! Thanks for watching.

@@dianacunningham6984 yes 🙌!!
Is it not worthwhile to put a tie-wrap over the 2 pieces of cloth?
@@RickyBeton1 if you mean at the seam then yes you could , however once the stone is placed it’s not going anywhere. Thanks for watching!
I got smacked in Wisconsin for redoing my sump and putting it at grade to my basement slab. Found out it was against local code! It was supposed to be like two or so inches above the slab floor.
@@nellermann this one is actually set 2 inches above the floor! What did they make you do to fix it ?
Do you have a drain in your basement? I’m wondering the same thing if it’s above grade then how does any water get in from the lid? Sealed system?
@@MarkJankowski-jw4yl this is a sealed system! There is event that runs from the lid to your sewer stack. Since the sump is directly below my living area, I wanted to make sure that there were no smells. Open top basins can smell if not sealed.
Great job of staying on top of plans Mike!
Great video, something most people don't get a look at.
Wrangle that big black tube Mike!
@@dianacunningham6984 we did!
You are so brave to o these things yourselves.
Those sleeves clog over time. Better way it to put stone directly over the pipe and then put textile fabric over the stone when you back fill. Much larger surface area to filter this way. Plenty of reputable channels on here explaining why sleeves are a bad idea.
@@TofuInc these were recommended by a few different contractors in the area. We have sandy loam soil here , so it’s finer than other types of soil. We used the sleeve, over pipe and in the next video you’ll see us cover them all with clean 2s and put some textile fabric on the stone. Thanks for the comment !
More good info. Thanks for posting. Glad to see the house was put back in the right place! Could you imagine !?😮
We were very lucky we decided to come out and check! Came at 11 pm and ended up sleeping in our shed (video coming soon) to make sure it was fixed first thing. 😮💨 glad that’s over !
