Scarlet Drum Cover!
มุมมอง 2049 ปีที่แล้ว
I realize this is not on point with every single note...it is a cover with more or less my own style. Recorded with Canon Rebel T3i..I have no drum mics hence the unheard kick drum ^_^ All rights to Periphery and Sumerian Records for the track.
i am so glad they started taking playing more seriously because this is ROUGH
Holy shit, this is absolutely fucking insane. Somebody steals the show from POLYPHIA?????
Jason Richardson enters stage, tim fu ks up two notes out of fear
2:55 Jason Richardson plays more correct notes in a second than Polyphia do in 4 minutes. lol
Nah, thanks. I go to the show expecting to hear studio quality.
These guys are literally my favorites....but doesn’t this kinda suck live? Missed notes and wtf are those tones. Someone please agree or have counter examples where they’re good live
Dude from what I heard apparently, they played it for the music video and decided to never play it again, and I heard they had to relearn it for this performance :c. the source is yt comments tho, so. Sed
Sloppy just like my ex.
man I was a critic of them but they improved SOOOO MUCH live since that time
Melodyphia
i think this would likely sound a lot better if the mix was more evenly divided between tim and scott, i think it would sound just as sloppy if he was standing closer to tim than scott. but you guys are right, jason killed it and stole the show HARD
Audience is waiting for the vocalist
And they sucks
Damn Mr. Richardson does not fuck around.
I've always said this and stand behind it. Bands like this will never make it in the big time radio play millionaire status, they are too good to relate to the common folk ears. Being to good can be a curse and this is a perfect example.
more than anything, it's the live sound that makes polyphia sound so weird live. I get that their new stuff has a more twangy sound, but they *need* more gain when they play songs like this, the entire comp falls apart when the instruments don't have as much punch, this is especially clear after scott's solo, it sounds like they forgot to turn their pickups to more than 20% compared to how it sounds in the studio. I'm sure this actually would fix a lot of the issues
1:09 ....
Even Jason’s doing mistakes on this one so cut the crap
Comes and steals the show 🤣
The drummer and the sound totally ruin the good song, what the hek
They sounded so immature just like beginners except Jason.
Well there are a couple of reasons its this sloppy. They are almost always drunk. And every guitarist has bad days especially playing this music.
3:46 oooopsie note
1:13 wtf was that
😂😂😂😂
old sloppy tim 🤦♂️ except now
Sick. Just how it is. Google that.
i think it has to be the quality of the recording
🙋👍⭐😀🎸🐕🇬🇧

It's recorded with a phone in a fucking small stage and people are saying they're playing bad smh
Quite amusing how many "experts" here state this as "horrible" and "sloppy". Yes, this tape(!) doesn't sound clean and overwhelming because it's recorded by a smartphone inside an obviously closed, "difficult" and small location. You can hear Jason quite clean because his PA has a better orientation to the recorder. If you listen exactly and in detail, you see, that their parts are played quite accurately indeed. Never watched all these smartphone bootlegs of other techniqually gifted bands like Dream Theater and Co. that also sometimes sound sloppy although we all know they can handle their instruments!? Polyphia can definitively play their songs very accurately live. Simply look for some better quality tapes on youtube!
They are quite sloppy here. Sure, the quality may make it sound worse, but that doesn't excuse the wrong notes, dead notes, open string ringing and out of tempo playing. This is quite obvious when you compare their parts with Jason's part. Jason plays an obviously more technical and more advanced part but it sounds cleaner, because he isn't missing notes, he isn't out of tempo and he's not stumbling around on the guitar neck.
Jason is the savior
I still watch this on 2018 😍😍
Jason needs some stage presence. Amazingly technical and damn near spot on to his recording but boring as hell to watch. I get that it’s complicated but he needs to NOT LOOK at his guitar when playing live and look into the audience... maybe move around a bit? I’m guessing he might have stage fright and compensates by looking at his guitar because I bet he could play his solo with his eyes closed if he wanted to.
なんやこれ、酷いな。リズムグダグダだしミスタッチ多過ぎだし、これ本物?リチャードソンは上手いw

Kinda seams like they spend too much time on their music videos 🤔 definitely not trying to hate. Just my honest opinion. Love this band and hope bigger opportunities come.
Bad performance
I'm sorry but this was not very good up until Jason Richardson came on and played his part. Holy fuck, he was ON POINT. The other guys... Very Talented.. Butttt not to good with out a studio.. at least from this video. Polyphia is great! Just not this.. lol
It's not their fault it doesn't sound as good. Imagine having to be in sync with another guitarist when playing a fast song and playing every single note at the exact same time. I'd nervous as shit
just no soul in polyphia they play on stage just to play their song they dont like their enjoying
How crazy is it that Jason can just roll out on stage and instantly just rip off one of the most technically challenging solos you'll ever hear and rarely miss a note. I know he gets to warm up off stage but still...it's like a basketball player coming off the bench mid game and making three shots in a row from half court like it's no big deal.
Bones12x2 He needs some stage presence. Amazingly technical and damn near spot on to his recording but boring as hell to watch. "one of the most technically challenging solos " It's a very advanced solo, but surely not one of the most challenging ones. Speed is not always the major criteria for complexity and difficulty...
@@Petrucciation1 and behold outro? This is so hard
Far from any of the most technical solos I've heard lol
@@MrKjDrake I'd rather have someone look at their guitar the whole time and nail the song than have him goofing off staring into the audience and choke. After all, people go to the concerts to see them actually play their stuff live.
This was all terrible...just awful. Except Jason. He is always amazing
He was pretty shit at his advanced stuff in the beginning, but dear lord he has picked it up, man sounds like a playback of himself live. Its insane
people see the japan live of this it was awesome ... playing this kind of music live is tough ... do not judge them on basis of this shit ..
I love how silent it was until Jason came out then everyone cheered lol
Yup I was told this was Jason Richardson feat. Polyphia
I love how Jason just comes out makes them all look terrible lol.
If you have a bit knowledge about guitar playing and the stuff from Polyphia, you would not write such a comment. Several parts in "champagne" for instance are not far away from Jasons technical level.
These dudes are ALL monster guitarists!! Jason is top notch yes but dont think for 1 second the guys in the band suck.
@@Petrucciation1 I love polyphia, I think they are amazing and I love their stuff. But here, Jason just slaps em. Sure, champagne is an amazing track and definitely an incredibly difficult song. Tim and Scott are monsters of math rock. But they aren't Jason, he's the god of technical deathcore and a machine on the guitar. Here, he definitely slaps them.
@@siriusorsomething7431 My personal opinion is, that Jason is boring as hell, with some exceptions. Yes, from a pure technical point of view, he is on a masterclass level especially with focus on chromatic scaling but he lacks in terms of feeling, arrangement and pacing. I miss the really new aspects in his playing.
@@Petrucciation1 I really don't get the pacing and arrangement critique. If you look at his time in Chelsea grin (evolve ep especially) and his time with born of osiris he clearly shows all those qualities. Most of the time he definitely doesn't play to evoke emotion, he isn't bb king, but his playing clearly ads an interesting element to the songs and always follows the theme and feeling of the song.
its painful to listen...
some shows just arent as good as the rest. you cant always expect bands to put on a perfect show. people can be tired sometimes, maybe just getting over being sick, maybe just having a bad day and really not in the mood to perform. could be anything. this was just an off day
Pretty weak, bud.
The only person who kept this band together was the original drummer. This drummer doesn't really fit the bill and that's why they sound shitty.
Wow surprisingly, polyphia sounds bad live. Jason is a monster on the other hand. He single handedly overshadowed the whole band here. What a beast.
