What was local government like 200 years ago?
Municipalities were mighty 200 years ago, even more mighty than they are today. In this presentation, we’ll look at examples of local government power from the time of the American Revolution, and then focus on Oshkosh in the 1840s. From chasing hogs to complaining about taxes to shifting budget priorities, you will find some surprises and some familiarity.
