Im against Bowman being back in the league due to the way the Beach incident was handled, but more so for the fact that Aldrich was given a letter of recommendation to work with children after what occured, and that led to a child going through the same horrible stuff Beach went through.

Id imagine the hawks are going to be looking at Demidov, Lindstrom and Levshunov for the 2 overall pick. I would lean Demidov the hands and creativity are the best in the draft. KD also has said they draft the best available player and not necessarily for need. I feel there could be a solid rhd dmen at 20 (Adam Jiricek) or even in the 2nd round (Elick, Emery, Badinka, Brunicke, Danford, Kleber). Lots of opinions. We need to take the best overall and if we have an abundance of certain players we can always trade for need.

We do have some guy coming up now from drafts 4-5 years ago. Kurashev - 2018, Vlasic - 2019. If you want to add Reichel, Slaggert, Kaiser, Commesso - 2020. Toews was 2006, Kane was 2007. Keith, wiz, burish - 2002, seabrook, crawford, Buf - 2003. It is kind of similar to what is going on now. You look at Bedard and this years top 4 pick as 2006 & 2007. Having a healthy Hall, 2nd year Bedard, stronger on his skates Reichel should help next year. We probably need to go out grab a versatile C/W that can play 2nd line right now and a 2nd pairing right handed dmen to help Korch keep progressing. Add another solid veteran middle of the lineup forward to bring some grit and let the kids play. That Reinhart deal that is going to get signed is probably going to look terrible within 3-4 years, nice player but he will get overpaid. I dont think the hawks sign anyone in free agency this year for longer than 3 years. Going to be a fun and exciting off season again. Looking forward to what happens with the lottery and free agency, lets see where this team is heading for next season. Hopefully a .500 team.

at this point, unless some players start scoring, its gonna be Celebrini or Eiserman. How are Nazar and Moore looking ? Seems to me that KD wants speed speed speed and skating. Thats nice and everything, but winning the puck battles and players with some size who can control the play in the offensive zone are just as important. It wasnt until Hawks got Hossa that they took that final jump upward.

Reichel has been a BIG disappointment. He has ONE goal and doesnt create many scoring chances. Hawks passing as they try to break out of their defensive zone is horrible. Bedard looks good, teams obviously try to make sure he cant skate through the middle of the ice. He needs help from his linemates, and he hasnt got much. Kurashev looks good, put him on 1st line with Bedard. Mrazek playing as good as he ever has since coming to the Hawks. Soderblom has been terrible, wondering if they will call up Commesso and give him a few starts and see how he does. Nazar is returning to form at Michigan but he will probably stay there for this season? Not sure about that yet. Hawks are desperate for offense, cant win with a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners. Celebrini or Eiserman look like a sure thing unless we can start scoring some goals, 2 goals each game just doesnt cut it.

Was surprised to see 81 retired too, but I'm not opposed to it. Regarding the floodgates being open… among all the players with 3 Cups, I always thought their easiest solution would be to ask “Who has individual achievements in addition to the team awards?” and draw the line there. With a Conn Smythe each, Norris x2, Selke, Messier, Hart, Art Ross, Calder, etc, you retire 19, 88, and 2, and let the rest be. Such a tough decision though.
