Good Ol (Successful) Pennsylvania Deer Drive
มุมมอง 10K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Deer drives have been a long tradition in Pennsylvania. The objective is to move deer to 'Posters' in attempts to harvest a deer. Some people think deer drives are controversial, but this tradition has strong roots in PA. Enjoy!

Talk about being lucky! The buck allowed me to take a second shot after the first shot was a clean miss. Hard to tell, but I feel the shot was deflected.
'24 Archery Season Recap Footage

Watch as I recap my 2024 PA archery season. Notice how deer movement increases as the season gets closer to the 'Rut'. Notice how the doe become more alert and how careless the older bucks become. #archery #deer #pennsylvania #rut

Excellent buck. That's very unusual to get a second chance like that. Glad you got it and shared it.
Been there, done that. I've hit trees twice over the years. Both times the deer didn't give me a second chance. You lucked out on a very nice deer. Congrats!
Thanks, good luck in the future with your hunts
Great hunt! Do you hunt a lot of public land?
We hunt a fair bit of public land, yes.
Deer drive videos are the best. Good luck in the future.
Thanks, you too!
what state ?
Pennsylvania, good luck this season
My sister has hunted with a python for 30 years and will not carry a rifle. She has gotten many deer with it. When we drive for deer, the drivers go slow and owl hoot or call like crows. The deer don't break into a run so fast.
Good for her. Still waiting on my chance with the Python.
Good job guy's 😊
Thanks!
I’m in Northeastern Pa., been driving deer for 51 seasons and we never yell. We walk towards the standers …..yelling like that is stupid and a pure rookie move imho…not needed at all..
To each their own. We shout for safety and to make sure everyone is in line for the drive
So how big is the deer farm you are on?
28.6 million acres 👍
@@gandtoutdoors5 there is no farm in the usa that large. do you even know what you are talking about
We don’t hunt deer farms. But, the entire state of Pennsylvania is 28.6 million acres 😉
Then you go out hunting to KILL something dork you only harvest on a farm.
I’ll remember that, good luck this season.
Why do PA hunters yell when they're putting on a push? We just still hunt towards the posters in an effort to slowly move the deer.
The main reason is to know where the other drivers are. It’s easy for one person to get ahead of everyone else on big drives.
Helps to ensure the drivers stay on line, especially when going through thick stuff or when you loose sight of the other guy.
Not all of us do. Generally they do it to keep position during the drive. But, we have learned the escape routes and where the deer traditionally WANT to go. So we slowly, silently push the deer where they want to go, and post standers covering those and, generally, they are just walking as they come to the drivers
Are you in northern or western Pa? Im from eastern Pa, between Harrisburg and Allentown. We had no snow to speak of,youre lucky.
We’re in central PA. Good luck this season
I’ve been a dedicated handgun hunter here in PA for the last 30+ years. We usually do drives during the second week. I’ve taken several deer over the years. I’ve used 44 magnum revolvers and for the last few years, a TC Contender in 7-30 Waters.
EXCELLENT VIDEO VERY WELL DONE ...NICE BUCK NARRATION WAS VERY GOOD
Glad you enjoyed it
👌👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥🦌🦌🦌🤛🏻
What a great video!! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice shot. That’s hard trying to shoot between the trees like that. Nice buck
Thanks, and good luck this season
Very nice buck, well done. The snowy deer woods are beautiful aren't they ? The best time to score. Good luck in the future.
Snowy woods are a great place to be, good luck on your next hunt!
Lots jealous, idiots comments on using iron sights and poor shot placement....just turds!! The hunting community doesn't need those bad apples. Real life hunting isn't like watching videos made for Hollyweird.
Very cool video!
Thank you very much!
I swear, the only people more petty and snarky than spoiled teenage mean girls are Holier-than-thou "hunters" on TH-cam! I don't know this guy from Adam, but how do you know-it-alls know he's not so a good a shot that he didn't spine her on purpose? They sure as hell don't run away from a spine shot! Whether it was intentional or not, that's a dead deer in the truck with a classic iron sighted lever gun. Some of you assholes must have had shitty parents if they didn't teach you that if you don't have something positive to say, keep your pie-hole shut! You expect anti-hunters to leave ignorant comments, but fellow hunters should be better than that. Go start your own YT channel and show us how great you are, dick heads...
Now that's a real hunt. Great job. Fantastic buck good for you.
Thanks for watching!
Просто Супер 👍
Congrats! Seems like everyone who has a Go-Pro ends up seeing deer. 😃. I saw several deer here when I went out Monday here in PA, and got a nice 8-pointer, but typically I don’t see many deer. Guess I need to get a Go-Pro.
Good luck on your next hunt!
Right through the back strap
👍🏻🦌
Thanks
that guy on many different vids think he out to ak oney
Very nice. Your heart must have been pounding waiting on that second shot.
For sure a long 5 minutes of waiting
Oops,try again
Oh, I wonder how you dropped it, hmmmmmm
Nice job 👍
Thanks 👍
Excellent patience and an excellent buck!
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Your first shot hits the big tree closer to you center of the camera frame . You can see when it hits tree .. that was an intense stand off . Great video congrats nice buck
Thanks for the comment, good luck hunting 👍
Congrats!
Thanks, good luck if you’re hunting.
Congrats. Which Kuiu jacket is that?
The Proximity, I wear it a lot in cold weather
@@gandtoutdoors5 Thank you! Looks warm...I was cold this year
@@shawn951951I would recommend the proximity lineup. $$, but it is worth it in my opinion.
I really thought Tim Walz was crazy putting feminine products in men's bathrooms. Then I came to this comments section.... Nooow I get it. 😂

We’re in pa are u hunting
Cambria county
Did you hit him with the first shot?
Nope, the first shot was a clean miss
First time shooting?
2nd time, thanks.🙏
Seriously. Shot her in the spine?
OMG...THAT WAS FOREVVER FOR HIM TO MOVE OUT!1 CONGRATS
Yes it did, thanks!
What a shit shot
Nice one congrats
Appreciated
Убегай😂😂😂😂
Man oh man how do you manage
Never mind just noticed iron sights. Why chose iron sights and risk a un ethical shot
By those standards, anyone who ever used a weapon without a scope was not hunting ethically?
@ depends if your a good shot and if your smart if ur smart and wait for a close good shot then ya it’s totally fine but I don’t see a reason not to use a scope
Good buck, George. Congratulations on another nice deer. Thanks for sharing.
@@anchor2056 definitely got lucky this year, the fact he stayed around and dint run away after the first shot was a miracle.
@ That’s for sure. Hard work and preparation are big parts of the equation but you still need some luck.
@@anchor2056that’s for sure! Better to be lucky than good
Couldn’t believe he hung around that long after the first shot. Congrats
How about it? I couldn’t believe it myself. 👍
He stayed because of the doe ,
Try HECS. Deer won't be that aware of your presence. Have had many close encounter without spooking them.
Perfect hunt for a cold morning . Doesn't get much better 😊
You got that right!
Nice video. Looks like you had a pretty eventful season. Looking forward to the rifle season videos.
@@patricklafferty157 hopefully have a rifle video ready this week!
That’s a fact. As a kid hunting white tails here in WV I was taught never to fix your gaze on a deer as it’s approaching. Always glance off an observe it with peripheral vision, until the moment you pull trigger. I honestly believe this is something innate in all mammals that are potentially a prey. Humans are no exception
Same here in Oklahoma never make eye contact
