As much as I could find about it, the land & the airstrip belonged to Aparna Ashram founded by Dhirendra Brahmachari, the Yoga Guru of Ex-PM Indira Gandhi. Following his death in a plane crash in June 1994 at Mantalai, Jammu, his ashrams property fell in disuse. He had several small planes. What you saw over there must've been some of those aeroplanes. His ashram in Mantlai has the same look.
