Can someone actually explain how they managed to have the money for touring around the world? Remember this was 99, the album had just released how did they have the money to come to france from the u.s?
They were signed. Their label booked them for a tour.

@@deadroses19 Well, it's considered investment. You define your needs as a band, and ask your label to give you money to do it, and then you gotta repay them. So if you wanna make an album, you need to rent a studio, so you check the prices and tell your manager "we need $8k to produce our new album", so the manager ask to the label, and depending on how the label think they might do well or not, they lend money with interests and wait for their payback. If your band need to make a videoclip to reach more people, same thing. And for touring, it's still the same. Of course, contracts with labels can vary and have more or less possibilities and constraints, depending on how famous you are and how important is the label.

i remember as a kid being so enthralled with their identities...the music seemed super fucking human and I found it hard to believe an actual person made it. I honestly miss not knowing who the fuck they were....but it was bound to happen eventually. Looking at you tortilla man.
